We had been here before and enjoyed the food so thought we'd come back. Unfortunately this time around the service was just too under par. Firstly, why would you put meal options on the menu when they aren't always available to order? If you're only going to make certain options available every now and then I suggest making it a weekly special or something. It's very disappointing that this is the second time we've come here to order a specific meal to be told it's not possible and in fact the girl had a whole list of items on the menu that were unavailable.
Secondly, don't come here to eat unless you have a spare 2 hours to wait for your food, this has happened every time we've eaten here and we are never given warning. Don't bother complaining about it to the bar though as they apparently have nothing to do with the restaurant and don't care if you've been waiting hours for your kids dinners.

It's just a shame that this place lets down Stockton as it's such a beautiful town.

Ordered meal after waiting at the bar for 15min for service, not because of being busy but lack of waitstaff. 90min and one entree has arrived no mains. Eventually when it did arrive the seafood special which consisted of prawns, squid & mussels had no mussels. Food is really good but not worth the wait.

Took them 15 minutes to even realise that they didn't have the meal I ordered. Didn't get the order right when it finally did get to us after 45 minutes of waiting.
Worst of all was the attitude of the wait staff, they weren't even remotely apologetic for their mistakes.
Lots of people have reviewed how great the food was, and it was nice, but not enough to make me want to deal with the horrendous service again. Chef's talents are wasted here.

Service is great, taste of food is nice, but the cooking speed of the food is beyond ridiculous. 30 min still not out. We just ordered a steak and fish and chips. Not even have a lot of people ordering

Ordered food and we were the only people in the restaurant took 45 mins for the dishes to come out after asking them how long it would be.served without plates which I had to ask for. food was good but they have no idea about customer service wont go back again

Call in for lunch today and was pleasantly surprised. Food was amazing and very reasonably priced. Highly recommend.

I cook Thai so we don't tend to go out for dinner unless it's very good or we've been recommended on some place. So this pub Thai restaurant was recommended and I'm shocked at how good it actually is. It's cooked by a lovely Thai lady who does better Thai cooked meals than in Thailand. I cannot stop thinking about the taste and specialty vegetables that were included to provide a beautiful Thai dish. The wine list was not the greatest but we managed to find something that was good and accompanied the meal just right.

Food was incredible.
Took a while for our meals to come out considering it was a quiet night but was worth the wait.

Being very generous giving 3 star's here - would have been a 2.5/5 if the option was there.

Ordered some fish and chips - Chips were dry & portion size was tiny but the fish tasted nice at least.

Wow. What a place! The food!!! Omg! Best Thai outside Thailand. Mint atmosphere, really friendly and helpful staff. Great vibe! Great beers!

Most meals were fine, unfortunately the kids Spaghetti Bolognaise with Cheese was rancid and when taken to the kitchen, the answer was "its made fresh and then frozen" not a good answer and doesnt excuse microwaving off food.

Ordered Thai at 7:10pm on a Thursday night for takeaway. Waited in the bar having a beer. Waited waited. Asked how far my dinner was three times and got the response 'it's coming soon, 10-15 minutes'. I finally got my food at 8:50pm (1 hour 40 minutes after ordering). I couldn't pull out at this stage as all food places in Stockton were pretty much closed. As they handed over the food, all they said was 'sorry for the wait.
Yeah, cheers....

Ordered chilli jam chicken, tasted very strongly like bad fish.. told my husband who didn't believe me, he tasted it and spat it into his napkin and said 'old fish'.. We weren't sending it back though as we had a lot of food but told the waitress.. she told the cook and they told us it didn't.. we said well taste it and they wouldn't.. this is the second time a chicken dish I ordered here tasted like off fish..

Thursday night was trivia night and combined with a Thai meal it was a great night out. Lots of fun.

I am pretty sure I have been there. Once in 1995 abt. And again 1997. Both times I stayed in a sleeping room upstairs for just the night. A couple owned. First time he was on a fishing trip. The next time Igot to me the husband also. Both very nice people. Beer was good, that was all I had. Realy made a good impression.

Truly enjoyed my meal. With a large variety of vegetarian and gluten free options at great prices. Friendly and helpful service. I'll definitely be back.

I have previously reviewed the Gladstone's restaurant and it was excellent. We pre-booked and revisited tonight with friends from Sydney and despite being there when it opened at 6 PM, it was chaotic. There were pre-teen children yelling and mucking about ; standing and sitting on the tables. Their behaviour certainly required the intervention of a staff member. We waited for an hour and 15 minutes until the first of four dinners was served; and that was eaten before the other three were placed on the table. That put a damper on the evening and somewhat defeated the intention of dining together. The food was good, but the service was appalling. For a Friday, we expected a better outcome. Last time for us.

The Thai restaurant food is awesome. Not the flashest pub in the world but good service and nice outdoor area.

Despite being told that the takeaway order would be 30mins .. When we arrived to pick it up we were told it would be 20 mins. .. then having to wait and additional 40 mins .....finally it took over 1hour and 30minutes for two dishes.Very disappointing.The good news is that the bar service here is fantastic!

Best pub in Stockton...great Thai food at Sunshine's...friendly staff and great service
