Today was the second time we've enjoyed a great meal at the Cricketers. Our host, Tim made some great recommendations both times & they did not disappoint. Great food, definitely above & beyond usual pub food, great, personalised service & good value. We will take others next time...

We decided to have lunch here today. The food was fantastic overall and whilst a little pricey, it was worth the money. The building in general need some major renovations - toilet cubicles with no door locks, hand dryer not working, cracks in walls, etc and dirty small plates on tables. Overall, if your after food, I would highly recommend.

burger and beer special on Thursday is a good deal. The person who took our order said on multiple occasions that it was any tap beer to go with the burger. The older fellow behind the bar would only serve us the cheapest beer (tiger) and was very rude to myself and my friends.

I've come here to experience the punters club although it's a small group they have a lot of fun
I want this to be my local so I'm gonna have to find somewhere nearby to live

I have been here before and the meal and the services was great. This time I found it a bit disappointing. Snitzels were burnt. Meals were forgotten.
Would still give it another go.

We had a retirement function in outdoor pavilion space last night. Great night and really good food. We had lots of canapés, finger food dropped regularly around the group, lots of options. Meatballs were amazing and great cheese and meat platters. The vegan options were also fantastic!

Needed to host a function last minute and the cricketers came in clutch with their out door beer garden (is largely covered if it rains). Perfect for medium-large sized groups. Food menu is extensive. Drinks are not cheap but standard prices.

A group of us went for lunch. Meals were absolutely terrible, burgers, snitties burnt and fish over cooked. Will never go back.

Well worth stopping and eating the food has always been good and after a recent visit I can say it has not changed. I can speak for the pasta and the seafood. Yum

Best place to have your function. The owners helped us the whole way through our questions, booking, and were so helpful on the night. They went above and beyond being flexible and made our night so smooth and flawless. Can't recommend enough!

Great atmosphere, friendly helpful staff. Absolute value for your dollar with the great lunchtime menu. Recommend the lunch menu, look forward to trying the dinner sitting.

As a lover of traditional pub food the new kitchen crew have delivered an awesome menu mixed with classic and modern pub Food.

Wish I had more pictures of meals for you but I don't think the other diners would of appreciated me stopping their food to take pictures but I almost did because some looked delicious.

I'll be bringing the family next time.

If it's good food with and top quality ingredients this is worth the try.

Came in New Years Eve to be greeted at the entrance by the owner. Had one of the rudest experiences having to deal with him to get in the door. And then he snarled at me and my friends from behind the bar. If you dont like it mate, dont own and run a pub!

Excellent. Staff, chef, owners, service. Excellent. A place in Newcastle for people with finer taste.

You know what would be good? If the bloke (I think the owner or manager) behind the bar acknowledged me and said hi, y'know, used his big words and asked "what would you like?" Instead of staring me down to make first conversation to order my drink.Maybe thanking me after I've ordered and collected drink?Just an overall tense and unfriendly service here.

Excellent! I haven't been here for years (used to have lunch @ The Cricketers regularly when I worked in the city). Our lunch today was fantastic - beautiful beetroot pumpkin fetta walnut and spinach salad, plus a very tasty calamari chips and salad. The calamari pieces were strips (not your usual frozen rings) - fat, soft and lightly crumbed - and the side salad and chips were generously sized without overwhelming the squid. The best part? Only $12 each!! They also have $10 meals. We will be back again soon. Oh, and check out the decor - just beautiful

Great menu and lunch was delicious. Kids meals come with free ice cream (forgot the photo of the fish and chips). Loved that the kids meal came out quickly while ours was being cooked.

We had a great pub style feed here that we really enjoyed! I had the rump steak which was cooked well as a medium steak, was tasty, tender and juicy.
My daughter got the Hawaiian Schnitzel and it was twice as big as her face!
Chips can make or break a pub meal and the chips were quality! Some pubs serve a token salad but the salad was quality too, with sliced purple cabbage and a good dressing.
The atmosphere of the pub was really nice. It is well decorated and furnished, clean and doesn't smell of stale beer.
They had a good selection of beers on tap too and I enjoyed a cold schooie of Little Creatures Pale Ale with my meal.
