This is the vibrant heart of the nightlife in Newcastle. It's actually in Islington but is still very close to the Hamilton area and in particular, Beaumont Street.
I can't impress on visitors to spend a week here if you like live entertainment, restaurants and pubs. In a 2 K radius there are. 7 pubs and countless restaurants of all nationalities.

Stayed 2 nights for the Newcastle v8 races. My first time staying at a pub. Friendly and helpful staff with karaoke on Friday and Saturday nights if you are into that. Clean honest and simple rooms with good security. Not luxury but also not bad.

This place smells like fruit that has been left out in the sun for 6 days. Nice staff though. Professional security team

Great venue but lost a star due to the aircon not working properly. So sweaty and hot for the gig it was almost unbearable.
Cool place for a dance

Advertised as a free venue again, when the main dance floor is $10 to get in to once you're in....false advertising. You also can't dance on the the stage anymore and the smoke is hard to breathe in. I was keen to come back to the newy but I don't think I'll be back. It's just not the same anymore which is unfortunate

Facilities are decent. On the other hand it's quite clear whoever runs this place doesn't like having metalheads around. Why even have metal gigs if you're just going to have security rush everyone out afterwards? Also the security staff are unnecessarily aggressive from what I've seen

Decent place for a cheap and cheerful stopover. Nothing fancy but comfortable and fun. Bar manager Nic was very helpful and friendly.

Incredibly disappointed, my partner and I where there for an event tonight and we witnessed some poor person fall and severely injure their knee. The DJ did not pause the music or even turn it down to help this person out (giving Travis Scott Astroworld vibes) but also pointed and laughed at them. The staff got an ice pack but would not help them leave the room. People stood there filming the person instead of helping and when the persons friends got them outside the staff continued to do nothing. The manager told them to call an ambulance themselves which had a two hour wait. As someone who is disabled and has had my cane kicked out from under me at this same place I am furious. They claim to be inclusive but then treat injury's that occurred at their establishment and people with disabilities like trash. We will never be returning and I'm incredibly disappointed in the staff, manager and DJ tonight. Be better.

Continuing from my previous review, after being kicked out without explanation or reasoning I was then thrown onto a public road with traffic by security where I could have easily been hit by a car. Also explained I had no phone charge and my lift wasn't coming for another 2 hours but they still pushed me back onto the public road and made me wait by myself in the middle of winter without any care in the world. Horrible security and manager. Would not recommend. Finnigans is a much better option with better security and staff.

The hotel room bathroom wasn particularly clean. A really noise place specially over the weekend. The ??'? plugs wasn't enough to stop the noise. Even when I have the heave sleep I couldn't get any rest the whole night. It wasn't only the music. Of the party people are staying at the hotel t most luckily they will keep going the party there while you trying to sleep. No supervision over night or rules to prevent it happen.
Our booking said breakfast incluide and it didn't happen. Unless it was a water bottle and a few Candy's in the room desk.

I did have problem with the doors code wish make me need assistance everytime I want to get in.

Lots of mould in all bathroom and urine smell from the man toilets that you could smell from the kitchen. Staff said that it is was a normal plain smell so probably it has been there for a while and will be there for ever.

I ended up paying for a private room in backpaker on my secund night, it was cheaper and so much comfy

Staff was friendly and helpful. Chips were perfect. However, after ordering chicken wings it was easily recognisable that the chicken wasnt brined so the meat tasted bland. The texture of the outside was pretty good but once you bit into it theres just not enough flavour. Nonetheless, good place and good atmosphere

I stayed in the accommodation, I booked the room and call them can I do a early check in, and they said it's not a problem at all! Got here and stayed a whole day, asked for a late check out and they were happy for me to stay! The costumer service is amazing and they really look after you! I wish the actual pub was open I would definitely go down to have few beers and a burger! Thanks so much!

Lovely venue, myself and the kids loved the food, great accomodation and although the pool may have been a little too deep for the younger ones, we still enjoyed the visit none the less. Definitely worth it. Will be back again!!!

The Killer pool comp was awesome 10/10 would go again. Referee was a legend

A few friends and I attended this place recently and were pretty disappointed. The place smelt disgusting, while sitting outside it smelt of sewerage and inside smelt like a garbage bin. The drinks tasted absolutely foul, what are you using there? One girl had become severely intoxicated, carried out by a security and left outside the venue with some friends. Whether or not the friends had the situation under control the girl needed medical help, if I were in that situation I would expect a venue to call for me. Wont be returning, especially for $10 entry.

The place seems alright at first, but once you're in inside it smells worse than 100000 McDonalds playgrounds. I mean how hard is it to get a cleaner in there once in a while. The place smells like actual feet. Would not recommend as it took all I'm worth just to not vomit being inside.

Had Newy Fried Chicken. Was really good. The chicken meat was a bit salty so I would suggest less salt in the brine and disassemble the chicken wings so that they're a bit easier to eat. Apart from that, fantastic.
