I may be biased giving it's my local watering hole but if you're looking for great food and atmosphere, you have to come here. Not a huge selection of beer but they keep it interesting by changing up the craft options and still providing the favourites. The cocktail bar outside provides more of a bougee vibe while inside is comfy and full of locals

I had such a lovely time today at this tavern! Food was delicious and all the staff were so friendly - especially Maddy! Thank you so much for a great experience and I can't wait to come back!! Can't recommend this place enough.

This could be Newcastle's best pub! Great public bar with an excellent range of Aussie craft beers. We sat outside which is right next to the cocktail bar. Service was superb and the food was amazing. Steak cooked to perfection.

EXTREMELY disappointed with our local pub. Came here on a Wednesday night to celebrate my boyfriends 22nd birthday. Waited at the "Please Wait to Be Seated" sign for 5 minutes with staff just refusing to approach us. Two girls behind the order counter just standing and talking to each other and the chef. Took 3 menus as one worker stood beside me and watched and went to an empty table with NO RESERVED sign present on the table. Sat down and each person decided what to order but was told on approaching the counter that they are completely booked out. WHY wait until this moment to inform us??? Never had such a poor experience from this place but have lost LOTS of respect because of this. Completely understand if it's busy and you're booked out but let us know when you first see us. The fact there were "no available tables" is Interesting considering it would let me book online prior to arriving but rather than paying the $100 booking fee decided just to rock up since it's only around the corner from us. Not hard to let us know. Will not be returning and took our money elsewhere.

We have been there many of times over the years, haven't been there for quite some time until today. And won't be back, not much variety on the menu. And my wife had a king prawn pizza, that had to much sauce you needed a spoon to eat it. Anyway plenty of of other establishment's around, just a shame

What a great outdoor and covered seating area, they just need to work on the front bar now.
The venue was quite clean and had quite a few people in for lunch.
I recommend that the portion sizes be reduced with the pricing as the portions are just too large when observing every dish at our table. Bring down the pricing and with some marketing, you'll bring more business in.
The food was great as well as the service, Street parking directly out the front.

Just honestly so impressed. They were busy. We arrived early, they accomodated us. The waitress was just so god damn helpful and funny. Actually just can't wait to come back. Well done all, what a great team

Well this place was a beautiful surprise in Maryville. Contemporary relaxed alfresco dining, while inside was full but still room to move around.
Enjoyed the friendly ambience here.
Menu is simple but perfect.
Worth going for a meal.

Now to my Father's Day lunch 2022 the food was the best I've had in a long time. To the chef in the kitchen all the support staff you do an amazing job and the service was excellent 101/10. I'd never been here before. Turned up early on a Tuesday night. Surprised to find a very well laid out and welcoming venue. Every table was booked for trivia later. The staff were numerous and very friendly. The food provided was above par and overall, I'd highly recommend the tavern. A venue like this deserves a water view.

Nice establishment, food is consistently good, sometimes great but not overly brilliant.
Have been back multiple times and will be back again for sure. Opened this new cool bar out the back for quicker drink access there when you have your Doggo.
This time we had the prawn special, spring rolls and lamb pizza. The pizza was the stand out with amazing flavours out of the pulled lamb, not much feta but the base was home made and decent. Spring rolls were good but the prawn was not great... bit of corn relish and sour cream with come coriander, corn chips where alright but overall very underwhelming.

Thankyou thankyou thankyou! After last night's Thursday night date night disaster at The Burwood you have restored our faith in good pub grub cooked with love. The swordfish was to die for and the pork belly salad was cooked by someone who understands balance of flavours.

Great atmosphere and food. We dropped in today for the first time and loved the vibe. Really friendly staff, kid and dog friendly too. With plenty of seating indoors and under cover this place is a hidden gem. The servings are very generous and the menu has lots of variety too.

Love, love this place. Even on a Monday night, they have a really interesting specials board. The lamb was amazing!

Unexpectedly fantastic. Lunch in the beer garden. Meals were wonderful. Prawn pasta special OMG. Great service, friendly staff. Absolutely recommend this hidden gem.

Decent place, good service and friendly staff. However the quality of the rump steak is pretty terrible. It was cooked well but must have been the cheapest meat, a lot of sinew and not at all tender
