We came here for a birthday party and sat in the outdoor area. The food was great and the staff all went out of their way to make sure we were looked after. It's a nice place to be on a warm afternoon before moving inside to check out the band and other entertainment. Beer selection is not bad, and there should be something there for everyone.

A pleasant place to have a meal. The outdoor seating is on picnic tables, which I find to be appealing.
I have watched many bands playing here over the years. I have also been to various Poetry events at this venue. Lovely

It's my first time coming here with a client for a Christmas Party. Due to the conclusion of lunch service, it was probably pleasant and quiet. Excellent and accommodating staff members. It was a tidy place.

New chef served the most amazing food! Totally unexpected that it would be this good. The garlic bread, the squid entree and the slow cooked pork belly - divine. Hats off to the new kitchen.

First time here with a disabled. It was nice and quiet most likely due to the finish of lunch service. The staff were great and understanding. The place was clean. Atmosphere was pretty good as well, my client said he wishes to return.

Great atmosphere, although we were late for the Sunday roast (they sold out) and went to get the ribs (but they sold out of that as well) - will have to get there earlier :)

Excellent chicken schnitzel lunch special ($15). Flavoursome pepper sauce. Meat was juicy and crumbs crunchy. Not too oily.

Right next to Beaumont St. Right next to a train station. Amazing classic styled venue. Great service and the best beer garden in town.

Sunday lunches in beer garden are the best, shady spot. Food was presented and tasted great. Sevice from all Staff the best, even during the meal. Such a relaxing spot.

Good atmosphere, live music. Food was disappointing. I ordered the prawn twisters, which is listed as a main meal, stating it came with salad. It was clearly an entree (6 prawns wrapped in spring roll pastry) & the "salad" was merely the garnish. Tasted ok but definitely not a main meal. Not sure I'd eat here again.

We came the other weekend when it was busy and it was amazing. Tonight 18/10/22 its super quiet.. takes 10 mins to order 2 snitzels (its snitty night) chefs are chatting and walking around and it take ages for 2 snittys with no other meals coming out...and its all warm. Not hot..warm. with no other food going out and nothing happening. Super average

We attended a birthday celebration and the service was amazing aswell as the food.

Some of The best live music in Newcastle for decades but the worst bar dance floor in NSW. It annoys the hell out of me every time I visit. The renovated dining and outside area are so spacious but the band/ dance floor area needs the bar removed because no one can fit on the floor and owner can't see it??. Still.... Gotta love the Wickham

A classic piece of Newcastle history the "Wicko" is perfectly situated just beyond Newcastle's West end making it easily accessible to the tram line.
Great bistro, big leafy beer garden and a real rock pub with a strong focus on live music!

Such lovely bar and bistro staff. Food is excellent. Great atmosphere. Highly recommend the rump steak (especially on Fridays when it's on special!).

A great local Pub. The best vegetarian pizza I've had in a long time and the gluten free base was amazing. Fast and friendly service and plenty of seating options. Wonderful entertainment perfect for a night out with friends and family. Thanks for the great night?

Great venue, sweet music and tops atmosphere. The food is pretty great too. When we lived in the USA we would come home to Newcastle for visits once or twice a year and would always have a big meetup at the Wicko. The Wicko was always our starting space for our pub crawls and pretty sure our engagement party was here too...yes, yes it was. Thanks Marcus!

Smoking area was right next to everyone else, and consequently we.were.being assaulted by cigarette smoke all night. That's why the 3 star review. Would have been 5 star if not for the smokers being in same area. Music and venue were great otherwise. Staff were fantastic ?
