I arrived around 4.45pm on a Thursday. Their kitchen opens at 5pm, but I was happy to wait and order after 5pm. Some of the tables in the dining room weren't ready for service (no cutlery, table cloth a mess) and they didn't fix it even though I left after 6pm.
I ordered shortly after 5pm, asking for a medium rare steak with mash, and a waffle for dessert. Easy peasy.
Alas, it was not easy peasy. I was told a few minutes after ordering, they were out of waffles, sure fine I'll have the chocolate pudding. Steak arrived pretty quickly, however it looks to be well done on the outside at least, so I eat it and it was pretty tough to eat, very over cooked. It was almost like it had been pre-made and recooked?? How did it come out so quickly and cooked well done? Chocolate pudding was ok even though it didnt come out with a spoon, i had to ask for one. I've had better chocolate pudding though.
Anyway. They use the dining area as an office so I got to hear all sorts of things. It felt like I was at work still and eating at my desk while the staff around me make phone calls about events and talk about their new starters, and hiring new employees.
In the dining room and in the bathroom, the venue smells like a mixture of cigarette smoke and cheap perfume. Don't come if you are sensitive to smells or have asthma.
Anyway hope this place improves but yeah good luck.
