Friendly smiles greet you as wonderful smells waft from the bistro, whilst you absorb the beautifully preserved bar and parlour.
The Thursday $15 Burger special is an absolute must, especially the Fried Chicken and Bacon Burger with chip. which for a non fried cuisine aficionado was simply delicious and surprisingly not oily or greasy at all.

Went for a steak deal night. The steak was perfectly cooked to our desires. The chips were crunchy and chopped in a good size. Atmosphere was amazing. Would definitely comeback :)

The vibe in this place is really great since the bar was restored to wood and the insides stripped back to reveal the beautiful bare bones of the old pub. The service is always friendly, beers are cold and every meal I've ever had here has been spot on. I'm partial to a beef schnitzel with mushroom sauce here.

I held a 20+ family function and the team could not have been better. They were super considerate and friendly and obliging. My family had a great time and the food was excellent (including rave reviews from our gluten-free and coeliac members)

This pub was practically empty at lunchtime on Valentines day. The food and service were quite good, but generally more expensive, especially the wine, ($15 for a small glass!... only $9 in other pubs).

Expect no consistency from The Havelock. I swing by here about once a month for the Monday schnitzel special which in all fairness is one of the best deals in Adelaide. Although almost every time I'm here, the schnitzel changes. Whether it be the side salad, chips, sauce, or flat out the schnitzel itself, it is rare to see the dish stay the same for more than a month. Maybe there's just a new head chef that often? Today everything has changed. Different schnitzels, less flavour. Salad is wildly overdressed, mushroom sauce tastes more like french onion soup. One of the less pleasant food experiences I've had at The Havelock. What will next time be like, I wonder?

I was very disappointed by the schnitzel this evening. The price was the seller however it was not good at all. The 'mushroom' sauce i asked for was watery, no mushroom and was just full of onion. Was not worth the $5 extra. If you are going to charge that much extra for sauce I would expect it to be quality and actually taste like mushroom. The chicken was very pink, im hoping I don't get sick from undercooked chicken. Very disappointing. It may only be $15 plus the $5 for terrible sauce but I think I'll stick to a more expensive meal somewhere else..

Best barramundi for its price that I have had in a while. Thick chunks of Barra perfectly cooked accompanied with fresh salad and creamy tartare sauce. We also tried the vegan burger, a little plain and the beef burger which tonight was amazing. We are sitting outside enjoying the atmosphere on a perfect night - what a great space!

Waiting 1.5 hours for food I can deal with on a busy night.
The chef refusing to replace chips with vegetables (I have a dietary requirement) and sending the meal out with chips anyway- that was really disappointing.
The bar staff were lovely and quite helpful, but I will not be returning here.

Great pub. Mid reno out the front at the moment and with the disruptions, the staff are still welcoming and friendly.

The rear outdoor/ indoor area is great and offers a warm environment in the cold and shade / cover in the heat.

Highly recommend this pub when in the hutt st area.

Went on Monday for the schnitzel night. Cannot recommend any higher. Their prices are incredibly fair and the food is amazing. Their $10 vegan schnitzels are probably the best I have had.

Poor service,flat coke but seem to make outlandish claims that they might be the world's best pub.... As a seasoned traveller, I can assure you they're not even Adelaide's best pub.... I pour better drinks in my lounge!

Sunday sesh done well.
Great covered beer garden with a big screen. DJ upstairs. Menu is simple but done well. Not heaps for Vego/Vegans but everyone else should be happy with good quality tasty food. Cooper's on tap - noice.

A great place to have a wonderful meal. Pleasant atmosphere not noisy, comfortable surroundings and seating. Staff very pleasant and the meals very reasonable prices and very delicious. I recommend the Elephant Castle, for an enjoyable meal for anyone looking for a place, it's very central on the corner of Gilbert and West Tce

Worst pub meal I've had in years. If you like frozen food, then this is the place for you. Our meal was that bad we couldn't eat it. We were offered a refund that we refused, we just wanted a decent meal. 2 stars for great bar service. Better places to eat in Hutt St than here. Horrible.

Nice atmosphere, great service. I ordered a fairly bespoke meal adapted from the menu, it came out perfectly (100% Keto). Excellent attention to detail and tasted good too.

Nice place for a quiet meal on a weeknight. A little pricey but nice atmosphere and very friendly staff.

Around the corner from a mates place, we decided to have a drink after lockdown. Very nice meals and being there early for happy hour was a bonus. The house red was very good for the price, most of the usual pub suspects on tap and crafties in the fridge. Food was a little pricey but I have to remember that I'm in town (although it doesn't feel like it)
Bar staff were lovely and very understanding of masks with plenty of reminders to non-compliant patrons

Very nice. From the moment we walked into the dining room we were greeted with a warm, friendly welcome. Even though the hotel was very busy, our drink order was taken and delivered promptly as were our meals. The food was great and the prices very reasonable. I would happily recommend this venue to anyone looking for delicious food, an excellent selection of drinks, wonderful service and friendly staff. A marvelous experience. Keep up the great work!

I had a beef burger and my wife had a steak sandwich. Both were served quickly (about 6pm on a Wednesday) and came with a huge amount of hot chips. Overall there was too much food but it tasted great. Both meals were well constructed and the steak was not chewy (like you often get in pub steak sandwiches) and of a good size. Friendly staff. The decor is dated but I think that the point - it looks almost exactly like it did when I visited there in the 80s as a student.

Great to visit on a Monday night, $10 schnitzels when you buy a drink. What a bargain! And great quality too. Come on down!

We had lunch at the Havelock yesterday and were really impressed with the quality of the meals and the friendly service. The vegetarian lasagne was truly delicious, rivalling any Italian restaurant that we have been to.

I was in Adelaide for the tdu. Went here for dinner 3 times. Twice they fitted our group in when they had crowded bookings. The third time we ate outside on the tables in front of the hotel. Every time the meals were superb and the staff were amazingly friendly and helpful. Would go back in an instant. A++++

Very good! Welcoming & friendly service! Excellent range of food available in their restaurant, kid friendly too! Extensive range of beers on tap plus a good selection of local wines! We went back a second time whilst on hols here! ud83dudc4d
