Came for lunch and drinks. Enjoyed the food and the drink. The service and was wonderful!
But! If you order at the bar, there is a 10% charge (as in, the $20 pizza and pint deal is $22) whether you pay cash or card.
If you order on your phone through the QR code, there is a credit card surcharge.
If you have advertised prices, that is what a customer should pay.

Ruined my daughter's milestone party. Extremely overcharged for non-existent service and food. Lost a few thousand dollars, for no more than $200 worth of food, didn't honor charges per person, not enough quantities, ran out of Balisic alcohol halfway through the expensive three hour drinks package. Food mostly served by me because the only two staff on the night actually working were useless, would just sit a platter randomly somewhere where only a few guests would see, didn't serve all platters purchased. The entire organisation was so poor, and servers were seen eating or drinking what we'd paid for. Wouldn't own up to any of it, wouldn't offer any kind of reimbursement, not even partial, was extremely rude and unprofessional. We even had to set up and open up the windows and doors of balcony, lights, AC, etc. of the room we'd hired, as none of it was done yet when the first handful of people arrived on time. I'd contact Australian business ombudsman and was about to take the matter to court, to get our close to few thousand refunded (beyond actual costs anyway) .. Until my daughter didn't want to deal with any of the upset anymore. Consider yourself lucky, that I (and another dozen guests as witnesses) didn't take you down. Appalling, utterly disgraceful, disgusting, dishonest, extremely rude, unprofessional and incompetent.

Bed is so so so uncomfortable. Can feel where the two mattresses join, and they are so uncomfortable.
It was soooo hot through the nights despite having the fan on cool an 18 degrees....and it is only 10 degrees outside.
Ordered some food to our room when we checked in, was absolutely delicious and the staff were lovely. (If it weren't for food and staff would have been 1 star)

Your waitress seems to have an unpleasant attitude and very bloody rude. If I can give it a 0.hospitality service, I would. When we walked in and waited for table, she looked unfriendly and pointed to.where the menu is and said i can help myself with the menu. There were no other patrons as it was 2 o clock, I grabbed the menu and read it on a reserved long table, she came over and said I couldn't read my menu there. I took my menu away and returned to my table and she looked annoyed and use her hand to give the table a sweep as if there were dust on it. Bloody unprofessional and idiotic

If this is a four star hotel I'd hate to see a 2 star. The room was filthy. Nothing in the bar fridge but soy milk and water. The whole place needs a vacuum and coat of paint. It's shady and outdated. The best thing about it is the location. If you can tolerate the dirty unvaccumed floor near your bed and the filthy shower then the price is ok too. Btw we accidentally used our key in the wrong room. The door opened and we walked into someone else occupied room so security is an issue as well.

Located in the heart of Rundle Mall. And what I mean by that is ,step out of the hotel door and into the Mall. The photo is from the room looking over the mall. Service is very great and helpful. Recommend this hotel if you have a couple of days in Adelaide.

We hosted my Sister's Hens Night at Hotel Richmond for Dinner and then used their private room to host a Burlesque class with our nearest and dearest.

Lizzie was so fantastic at her job and looked after us so well from booking to even on the night. The venue is so classy and gorgeous & conveniently located in the city + the food was delicious, the service team were excellent and we just had an absolute blast! Thank you and we'll be back!

We had a group booking of 8 for my birthday dinner. I'm not sure if we just came on a bad night based on all the great reviews, but we certainly didn't have the outstanding experience others have mentioned.
Food tasted good, no issues there.
Service was less than acceptable. There were minimal other diners in the restaurant so can't take a busy night into consideration.
When ordering, staff were talking amongst themselves before they decided to serve us. One commented "I've already worked 10 hours, what's another few" another commented she was new.
The male taking our order had no idea what the menu offered. He asked "barramundi...that's the same as fish and chips right?
The other lady serving asked the complete opposite question, "you want fish and chips...that's the barramundi isn't it?"
My MIL ordered a lemonade, which never arrived. She had to go up 20 mins later to find out where it was. That's when the lady apologized saying she was new.
Half the tables main courses came out before the entree arrived. When I questioned to the waitress she said, "your entrees are still being processed darling"
Please don't call me darling.
All but two meals came out. Some had finished their meal, and the last two were still waiting. I went up to find out where the food was. They brought them out about 5 mins later.
When I'm paying $48 for a steak, I expect it be brought out with all the other meals. And if there's a problem in the kitchen, I expect some form of recompense - which sadly was not offered. Not even a free drink for the two that had to rush through their meal to catch up.
I'm really sorry but we won't be returning.

Public service announcement- do not book any special functions at The Richmond in Rundle Mall... I am unsure if there has been a change in management because years ago they were decent, but do not bother now.

My niece's recent birthday event was a huge disappointment catering-wise - catering charged at $35 per head for cocktail, and six people didn't make it, yet there still wasn't enough food to go around and multiple people left without eating! 6 platters of food served to feed 33 people, which amounted to about $200 per platter for mini hot dogs and pizzas etc. Ran out of Corona 1.5hrs into a 3 hr drink package and it wasn't until we complained several times they went and found more out the back. Unprofessional staff member caught eating food off one of the platters! Multiple issues which have been communicated to their events team but The Richmond are not offering any sort of recompense and are "saddened by the news we didn't enjoy ourselves". It appears they have blocked me on Facebook as well after I complained, so I am unable to leave a direct review on their page.

DO YOURSELF A FAVOUR AND BOOK YOUR PARTY ELSEWHERE

This is an older hotel so don't expect 5* Rooms as they are in the process of being renovated and updated but still amazing to be right in the middle of the city and right at your doorstep is Rundle Mall!

The service is 2nd to none and all the staff are friendly reliable and professional!
Great for functions and birthdays and staff parties! 🎉
Always remember to take a moment for the manager at the front desk! Michelle is outstanding considering her role(s).

Stayed here while I was attending a conference and was very pleasantly surprised.

The rooms were huge, comfortable and clean. The bed was comfy, the shower had great water pressure and I even had a walk in closet and big bath (room 51).

The location in Rundle Mall was perfect and it was actually quiet in my room which was great!

Highly recommend and great value.

We went to the Richmond not to stay, but for a beer. There is a good selction of beer to chose from, a couple of crafts and lots of commercial brands. We had the Southwark Old Stout, which was quite tasty. The service is exceptional, Dion helped us with information about the hotel and beers. The view from the balcony up the Mall is great. The interior decor is charming.
This place is certainly worthy of a stop off for a feed or frothy.

Terrible service. No reception after hours. Our room access card got wiped by a small magnetic clasp on my wallet. After years of travel, this is the first time this has ever happened, indicating the quality of their cards is very poor. This meant we got locked out of the hotel late at night in the cold and rain. There is nobody from the hotel you can call to let you in, so we had to call a separate security company, which put us on hold for ages, then took 40 minutes to come and let us in. The security agent said this happens all the time and sometimes the wait is over an hour. They said there should be no way a wallet clasp can wipe a key card, but this hotel's cards are so cheap it is a regular occurrence. This is such poor customer service. Furthermore, when we informed reception of the above the next morning, the lady on duty (26 May) was extremely dismissive of us, blaming me for putting the card in my wallet! Victim-blaming with no empathy whatsoever - great customer service. She said there was a sign out the front (hidden by the open doors when we arrived) and the card-wiping issue was mentioned in our "welcome letter"- a folded piece of paper jammed in the card folder. We arrived late, due to flight delays and rushed out to get dinner before the restaurant closed, so no time to read a welcome letter. There was no mention of the card wiping issue in any of the emails advising of our accommodation booking and access details. I was gob-smacked at how rude, dismissive and unsympathetic the reception attendant was. I will not be recommending this hotel to anyone.

Absolutely. Amazing. What an incredible hotel room for such an affordable price. I paid just over $100 for a one-night room with my partner because we were in Adelaide for 1 day, and we did not expect to have such a incredible room. The photos were great online but seeing it in real life was such so much better.

The bathroom was exquisite, I loved it. It was bigger than most hotel rooms in Sydney. It had a massive bath tub and a spacious shower. The design was marble and looked absolutely beautiful. The balcony had a view of Rundle Mall which was cute, we really wished we had stayed a few more days because we couldn't get enough of how big the room was and how at-home we felt.

The customer service was awesome too, the lady at the front was so kind and informative, she really made us feel welcomed and not rushed. Being in the heart of the city is just perfect.

Everytime I come to Adelaide, the hotels are always amazing and truly exceed my expectations. I guess staying in Sydney for too long makes you assume the worst all the time, but not Adelaide, you can see that they really care about quality and appearance.

Room was a bit dated but the location of the hotel made up for it. Close to a lot of attractions and eateries. We walked to the River Torrens Footbridge to watch the sunset. Customer service was outstanding, Michelle even extended her hours to wait for us to check-in.

Shopping in Rundle mall and looking for a quite place for lunch instead of the busy food court.
We ordered four of the bites on the menu for 3 of us for $44.00. It did not disappoint, food was amazing, plenty on plate, and it was nice and relaxing hour before continuing shopping. We enjoyed it so much we returned the next day.

Great location in the middle of town. Convenient parking at Wilson's behind hotel. Very spacious rooms. Michelle is a superstar, she organised our rooms over three different stays without a problem, she made us feel very welcome, I believe she went above and beyond helping us out. Highly recommended Hotel Richmond.

My close girlfriend had her wedding reception at the venue.
Upon arrival the table setup was not as she originally asked - I went to speak to the manager & her response was rude with no explanation. Afterwards she approached the bride & I & instead of politely explaining why, she was again, unpleasant, rude & condescending - we understood her explanation but she did not need to be so hostile especially to the bride!
The bar staff weren't pleasant & seemed reluctant to be there let alone serve us.
I went to pick up the wedding cake on the following Monday which the manager had told the bride it would be cut & put into takeaway containers - the gaming staff brought out an entire cake cling wrapped poorly in a box - I am not a big person so carrying that to my car by myself was frustrating as it was so heavy!
Food was average, service below average & the rude manager; her attitude was appalling from the beginning & throughout the afternoon & if you don't like interacting with customers then don't work in hospitality!
I come from working in hospitality management & I would NEVER speak to any customer the way she did to us & being a Wedding event you would think her & the staff would be more proactive to making sure the day went smoothly & be as pleasant as possible!
I will not recommend anyone to have an event at the venue nor will I ever return.

Perfect location to stay for in Adelaide events. Rooms are very comfortable.
Reception staff were very friendly and helpful.
My only suggestion would be to find a way to get a sink close to the coffee making area (might be something unique to the room we stayed in.)

We had our wedding here and it was amazing! We had the best time!! The venue looked absolutely beautiful and the food was delicious. We all stayed at the hotel and that was great- so convenient.
Definitely glad we decided to get married here.

Convenient location. There were three events on the Sat night that I stayed and hotel fore-warned there will be noise until 12am which is very true. There is no such thing as quiet room as music was playing in level 2 and below and you hear it no matter the room you stayed. If u need to sleep early, maybe avoid to come stay on a Sat night as there could be events. Strong water flow for shower and plenty of food choices around. Note Coles and Woolies around the hotel close quite early. Hotel is clean and room is spacious.

From the first phone call and checking in, the service at reception was outstanding. Cheerful, friendly and willing to do anything to assist in our stay. The room and location could not be better. No better place to stay in the city. Will be back for sure.

We could not find the hotel's parking, eventually we parked at another parking lot. Then, since there is no reception after 6pm, we called 3 times, but nobody returned our call. We waited over an hour until someone from the hotel, let us in.

The manager Michelle was very friendly, prompt, and helpful with organising an after hours check-in. The room was clean and quiet. Perfect location too. Will stay here again.

Attended this establishment on a Saturday afternoon with roughly 7 friends, the girls behind the bar were lovely and helpful until a gentleman with short hair and a beard reluctantly wanted to seat us and refused service after a few short minutes. Looked like a promising establishment but due to poor management we will not be attending again. A shame because the establishment would have made a significant amount of money from our group.

Great, experienced, enjoyable time. Hope to go again. So amazing, of food.

Keep an eye out and do not deal with ALICIA the functions manager! She is very rude and i do not honestly know how she could keep her job with that attitude. she called me up to come and clear out our decorations because they were having an event there in 20 mins sharp. i dropped everything and went straight there to find out no event was running and she abused and lied directly to me. What customer service is that.?/?~

Im a event planner and would not recommend this place to anyone as long as she is the manager there! Did you even lie to get your job there??

Recently attended a wedding in the upstairs function room of the hotel. The venue was lovely and well presented, the food was great and most of the staff were wonderful, very friendly and well mannerd (Staff working in the basement bar included). A couple of the staff members serving alcohol for the wedding really left a bad taste in our mouths as they came across as very blunt, rude and arrogant. It was quite disappointing having people working behind the bar with such a negative attitude towards guest trying to enjoy such a meaningful special day. It was clear they were just not interested in being there.

Beautiful atmosphere! Great place to sit and have some drinks with friends! The cocktail of the month however was quite bad. We all had to force ourselves to drink it...

Had my wedding here in Feb 2021 in the First Floor Restaurant. Service was great, food was awesome and the hall looked amazing!! Kudos to the staff especially to the wedding coordinators Maddy & Alana!

Excellent hotel with big suites and great reception service. Because of Easter Michelle from the Hotel contacted me in advance and made sure that we were comfortably able to check in. Our room even has a small garden :) Would love to stay again!

A great venue and hotel. Awesome views up and down Rundle mall from the bar balcony. Pokies and TAB I'm the basement. Good drinks options, great staff. Recommended for a pit stop when shopping in the city.

There was no availability to the restaurant both dinner or breakfast which we were not told about until too late to book somthing else. Bed was awesome. Shower good. But bathroom was dirty/mouldy and floors dirty, not mopped from previous tenant. Cracked tiles etc etc. Not up to cost!!!!!

Great place to have a drink and a meal . We only had drinks. Had sparkling red which was nice . Not every hotel has sparkling red.

We stayed at the Hotel Richmond for our wedding. I stayed in the suite and we used it to get ready in the morning. There was plenty of space and we loved the natural light that came in from the windows. The balcony was great and we used it for our photography. The room was beautiful ! We loved the big bathroom, the spa bath and mirrors. nnIt would have been good to have a bigger fridge and a kettle that we could use to make coffee's in the morning. A toaster would have been handy as well, as we had our little one staying with us and wanted to make her toast in the morning.
