Great little (well quite big) place in the heart of Adelaide. Service was great. Pizza lovely, steak 100% tasty! The bar man forgot to put my order through as he thought I was waiting for my wife (she was out the back ordering the wood fired pizza from the Beer Garden) - so gave me a free Corona 😀

We went in to have a Tomahawk steak 🥩 tonight and we loved it the best steak we have ever had the food was very nice , the waiters and atmosphere was great highly recommended 😊

$60 rib eye Steak was tough as, veg was cold and gritty, and prawns were over cooked.
Told staff who said they would tell the chef and got no feedback from there!
Couldn't eat any more and went home hungry.
Very disappointing.

The site dates back to 1838 and is also known as oldest hotel in Adelaide but we were here for the steaks 🥩 and pale ale 🍺.

Have a lunch here in a summer afternoon. Very delicious beef ribs, friendly staff and comfortable environment. Not much outdoor seating, but still highly recommended when you visit Adelaide City 😋??'?.

My first time going here, but was told the steaks were good.

Ordered the Eye Fillet, Medium. Was probably the best steak I have had in YEARS. Cooked to my liking, PERFECTLY (which let's be honest is hard to achieve on such a thick cut without the skill set to do so)... very nice char that accentuated the flavour of the steak.

I am also a non-drinker, so was very happy to hear that soft drinks were at 1980s prices (I exagerate of course, but they were so cheap it almost encourages people to be the designated driver... keep that up, and MARKET it).

Only missing that last star on atmosphere because the place isn't perfect, it's on Hindley street so as the night got later the patrons got less 'classy' for lack of better term and the HUGE screen is way too bright. I'm nit picking at this point though.

An underrated venue. It is better known as a nightclub but serves as a functional and well-serviced pub by day, with full bistro menu available inside. Stables Beergarden has become the premier place for Port Adelaide fans to meet before games, and is highly popular for its delicious pizzas and fun staff.

if i could rate lower i would. my friend was treated disgustingly by a security guard at midnight on the 17th. she is tiny and she was ripped from the floor and dragged out the front and thrown on the road. she is seriously hurt and really upset. this is disgusting and i will be putting this complaint everywhere i can until he gets fired. he was a short brown skinned, larger male and he deserves to get fired. she didn't do anything wrong except question him when he asked her to leave. she is the loveliest person ever and would never hurt a fly. ruined all our nights, he is an awful man looking for a power trip. i hope he's happy.

7 of us first time luncheon at the Black Bull Hotel, all satisfied customers. The meals were beautiful, the service good and atmosphere was welcoming. Definitely recommend.??'???'?

As a female traveling on her own I feel very safe eating here and the food is absolutely amazing. Every time I am here I send my compliments to the chef and chatter from the tables around me also reiterate the good food. I always come here when I'm in Adelaide and I am never disappointed.

Family dinner here, friendly service, good food - great steaks - and nice atmosphere.

Possibly one of the best cooked eye fillet steaks I've ever had. And I don't say that lightly. Nice basic pub meal but done to the highest standard. Will be returning when visiting next year for sure!!

Very nice meals here. Generous servings. My scotch fillet was delicious and cooked to perfection, and I'm told the chicken burgers were really good, too! Staff were friendly and welcoming.

We actually walk into this place only to have a quick 🍺🍺 b4 the Strikers match.
We ended up in the back beer garden unknown to us and enjoy pizza,Garlic bread and more🍺🍺🍺

Fantastic pub to celebrate parties with mates and enjoy nice burgers, steaks, pasta, and grilled seafood. We came here on a Friday night with the soccer team and had a wonderful night. Although we ordered different dishes, all came out at the same time. The food is delicious, and the staff are super friendly.

Good character and atmosphere here. Steak is cooked to spec. Bar service is great and meals are well presented. Bit more wall art showing a bit more of the history would add to the intrigue.

This has to be one of the best hotels in Adelaide. Service was great but the steak was even better. Go there for a drink and dinner and you won't be disappointed.

Bit of a Gem this one. Not fancy but comfortable. Staff are friendly, food is great, large servings. Been 5 times so far and will be back. Rustic surounds.

Absolutely amazing. This is my second time I have been here and each visit has been fantastic. The service, atmosphere and the food. My steaks are cooked to perfection and taste amazing. If you want a great steak, this place will not disappointment.

Bit of variety for vibes with the different sections up and downstairs. Not as confusing to navigate as it used to be a decade ago

It was not a good time for my brother and friends, very dour mood in the complex. A poor man dropped his wallet and it was a matter of seconds but it was picked up & gone just like that. No staff showed any empathy & a woman saw it happen & said nothing. The poor man lost 500 before it began.

Came here today for a steak and was blown away. I'm a steak lover and been to plenty high end steak restaurants, and this place has most of them beat. This is no ordinary pub steak, but restaurant quality. Thank you to the Chef that works here, you are pretty darn good at your job. P.S. Was quite surprised that the place was almost empty, perhaps it's the stigma of a pub, but honestly you can just as good if not better steak here than any high end restaurant in Adelaide. Bravo.
