The best Irish pub in town. Pool tables up the front and sport screens. Large outdoor area and great live music. Some of the cheapest food deals getting around for the best feed. Large pokies room out the back and always good for a Guiness!

Today we came on Wednesday for $8 steaks which was definitely worth it! The mash potatoes and mushroom sauce we incredibly amazing!! The chips were nicely flavoured and crunchy. The salad wasn't too bad. The steamed veggies were quite nice and soft. I thought that the $8 steaks included sides but you had to pay extra for the sides; I honestly didn't mind though! I would definitely recommend that you guys should come here and try their food! Manager was lovely and gave us a free coke!! Highly recommended! 🤩🤩

Good food, I got the vegetarian version of the $18 pizza that they were willing to change the pepperoni slices to tomato slices when I asked. Got the XXXX beer that was on sale for $9 but the rest were a little overpriced for me personally. But the live music was GREAT, and I love the crowd this place attracts as well as the atmosphere, the security guard that night was very chill and helpful was I asked him where the loo is or where the smoking zones are. The management guy was polite too. The lights and interior in the pokies room was pretty!

As noticed, it was the beginning of the Saturday evening crowd filling up the pubs in the area, including this one....being indoors, it had pretty high decibal vocals from the locals. The drinks were as expected the food, I guess someone in the kitchen had lost his/her gauge of the salt.

Staff are user friendly, the drinks are great, the scenery is perfect.

The big big win........ the menu. Every day you have INSANE deals for example.... on Wednesdays and Sundays they have $8 Rump steaks with chips... you can even buy that at woolworths for that price.

Best part is located right in the heart of Surfers Paradise

Myself and three mates went to Waxys for a drinking session and some entree snacks.We had a great day watching numerous large TV's and enjoying the atmosphere.Our entrees were all fantastic as well.If you enjoy Irish pubs you will enjoy this one.

Place was great, live music and great service
Plenty of seating and with live tunes the place was going off.

Kids are welcome which was great.

Food was delicious as well.

Speaking of pints, their selection of brews is something any beer enthusiast would raise a glass to, sometimes they have a really great $10 special that will get you drinking!.

Absolutely perfect, meals are cooked as you ask for. Bar staff are brilliant, couldn't ask for more attentive staff as I have a broken foot, they are only to happy to accommodate.

Great value eating if you get a special of the day especially in surfers. $8 dollars rump steak on Wednesday was my choice. Food was good and service too. Atmosphere was a little underwhelming and run down but that is across the board in Surfers Paradise now.

Honestly one of the worst experiences on the Gold Coast. We had heard a lot about this place and that is a locals favourite but it was honestly so bad.
Every table is sticky. Feels like it hasn't been cleaned in ages.
The service was horrendous. The two women behind the bar were so rude and literally yelling back at us while we were being nice and cordial to them. It felt like we weren't even seen as human beings. The whole experience was downhill from there.
The food was below par as well the bacon was barely cooked.

The only positives about our experience was a the lady taking the food order (Atlas tattoo on her throat) who was smiling and gracious the whole time. Kudos to you for keeping your smile and being nice. It made us feel a bit better about the experience.
And the other was the bearded guy running the shift trying to douse fires.

I am not the one to write negative reviews for restaurants but I honestly would not recommend anyone to visit the place unless management changed a few things especially the food and level of service especially from those ladies behind the bar who were very nasty.

Good ole Waxys, it's a bit of an institution here on the Gold Coast, right in the heart of Surfers Paradise.
Drinks in abundance, but one of the servers' lower fluency of English meant ordering drinks was a little bit more of a task. It's not a big deal. We welcome internationals here, and they do a great job, and it just meant I could teach them a thing or two.
Food wise, well, I ordered the right dish I reckon. I had the salmon, and it was fantastic, healthy, and plentiful. Salmon was cooked beautifully, topped with a prawn and all placed on a bed of greens and other veggies. It was truly surprising, so kudos to Waxys.
The outdoor seating area is fantastic for social engagement and is a pleasant atmosphere.

Food was terrible. Forgot the bacon and cheese on the already cold steak sandwich and then brought out cold bacon and cheese when we told them it was missing. Apparently we have to build our own dinners
The prawn dish, well there was something wrong here. Smelt disgusting and looked as bad as it smelt. Feels like it was a chore to look after their diners. Hopefully others don't have the same experience.
Recommendation would be to steer well clear of this place

The food was good.
But bangers n mash should say Banger n mash.
Not sure if you get less, as it was the Wednesday $15 special (it's normally $22).
It wasn't very busy but it was midweek.
Staff were friendly and helpful.

This pub made our stay really fun. Enjoyed the games of pool and quirky quotes on the roof. Special of the day was delicious on both Tuesday and Wednesday. Mind you don't get dripped on from the air con vent overhanging pool table..if you do though it's a bit of extra Irish luck 🍀

Over all friendly and knowledgeable staff behind the bar, one staff member in particular made our night so much better. Food was quick, generous and super tasty. Highly recommend the lamb shanks and Guinness pie.

My opinion on this place comes from during the day. Not much of an atmosphere huge venue, nice size pokie area. Staff were friendly massive outside area most likely popular on weekends

Their steak dinner is a few chips with a 2min steak only good for a steak sandwich and the pepper sauce tasted very much like Diane with some cracked pepper. Not a hearty mean and certainly not worth $16.

Friendly and helpful staff. Easy going vibe. Really good pub food, especially the pumpkin and goats cheese salad yum! Only gripe was mushroom burger could have been a bit bigger and it would be awesome to see a couple more vegetarian options because the food was delicious just not much for your veggie friends! Thanks for a great time.

Very nice interior of this Irish pub. Plenty of space. Nice and friendly staff. Very good selection of meals. Can also pick the daily specials. Been there twice and meals were great for the price. $5 for a steak. Bargain. Be back Friday night for fish and chips.

Was sceptical about the lunch special, especially the 4 dollar steak. Finally I took the plunge, and you know what, I wish I went earlier. Steak was great, and I discovered they have very fair priced drinks too. One of the better bloody Mary's I tried. Nice chilled vibe. Will try the snitzel next !

Overrated. A bit pricey for the area. Cocktails good. A bit put off by the scantily clad random in the street handing out vouchers but it's Queensland. Maybe she should wear a uniform to identify her otherwise you kinda try to ignore her. Try the Noxious Baroness. Tasty cocktail. The waiter was really nice and super friendly.

Always a good vibe, music is great. Rooftop can get cold but has heaters. Pool tables and the mini casino area is also good entertainment to keep busy. Food service doesn't go til late so eat before the kitchen closes

Best beef dip sandwich I have had in Australia. Huge portion and absolutely beautiful. In the states it was called a French dip and man it made me homesick! I will definitely be back.

Good place to go for a cheap feed. The steaks are always a good cheap option, although it's a bit annoying that you have to get a side with every steak purchase but I guess that is better then them stopping the service all together. The drinks are a reasonable price.

Also good place to go put on a TAB bet.

The plate itself is 17 dollars. $4 steaks, $3 chips, $3 gravy and $3 Salad. The food was good for the price, but it has gone up in price compare to 4 years ago. I miss those days of $3 steaks :)

Finn McCools has some stiff competition for the best Irish bar in Surfers Paradise. This place has a similar energy of homeliness to it that makes it feel like a fusion of Australia and Irish hospitality.
The biggest draw personally is the food, so ridiculously cheap and of the best quality I've had for the price I payed for it I was honestly blown away.
The $4 steak is the biggest surprise of my holiday here and I cannot recommend it enough.
Drinks are well priced and the venue as a whole is lovely with great staff.

The money was refunded by cash every time!
Very obvious this is a thing the staff do here as they were quick to refund and knew the amount

Also food wasn't great I got food poisoning will be sure not to return!

I have been here quite often as I can walk from my apartment. Very friendly staff, an excellent range of drinks. Plenty of space and indoor/outdoor seating facilties. One piece of advice, don't go there when its very busy - the service tends to be very slow. Otherwise all good.

Great pub atmosphere and best Guinness on tap. Meals are very good value and prepared well. Staff are friendly and provide good service.

The meals here are reasonably priced and great. They have 3 dollar steaks which are great value but try the menu as the meals are fantastic and big. They have tried to up date the decor and bring in some light. Staff is friendly but service can be a little bit slow at times
