Booked a table for our family of 7 (5 kids 7-17yrs) where we were seated adjacent the bar directly in front of opened l, double front doors.
We were also directly in front of the table water dispenser and glasses.
Patrons either had to squeeze behind us or reach over the corner of the bar to get their water.
I ordered 2 Black Russians at the bar and neither of the bar staff had any idea what I was talking about. I explained 1 shot Kahlua, 1 shot vodka in a glass of coke, I was met with a disgusted look as if I was joking and I said "if you're not sure or don't believe me you can look it up if you like."
After I reassured her that's what I wanted,
The bar girl then said "you're gonna have to pay for all those shots". I politely smiled and said that the cost wasn't a problem.
Meals were ordered at the bar and collected at the pass over by us when the buzzer sounded.
All the food was served in small portions. Dry chicken and almost zero Caesar dressing on the Caesar salads.
Small chicken schnitzel on a small handful of chips with briny salad. Burgers also served with only a small handful of chips.
Kids nuggets and chips were 5 Dino nuggets and a few chips in a small bowl.
No sooner had we finished eating, one of the staff zoomed in to clear our table into a basket lined with a plastic bag, to whom we passed our plates.
Disappointed with both the service and portions here.

Went here for the ribs "deal" still had to pay an extra 8 bucks just for slaw and chips. Chips were advertised as being "thick cut" but came as your standard frozen fries. The ribs were dry and thin (unlike your mother)- most definitely tasted frozen. Ontop of this poor quality of food I had to order my meal at the bar and then collect my meal and cutlery from the kitchen serving station - front of house were happy to issue a refund is the only positive I have for this place.

Came here on the 24/10/2023, My partner and I ordered the Rump steak, it was tender however slightly dry, mushroom sauce was awesome, salad was nice, dressing was amazing and chips were crispy. Great service from staff, Prices were good with food and beer .

Stopped by the clock hotel as there was a promotion for the beef steak set. Upon placing orders for medium rare beef, what was received was instead close to a medium or medium well. When we returned it to the kitchen, we were met with looks of doubt but they redid the dish anyway. On the second serving, one of us had the beef which was even more cooked than the first round. We asked for it to be redone once again, and finally it was cooked to the right doneness. There was no apology but we were offered complimentary mushroom sauce.

Great food at reasonable price. Had schnitzel and chips salad and partner salad. Not overly busy Wednesday night. Shrieking child was only downside and noticed few other couples left without ordering.

Food was delicious, definitely will be returning. Cooked fast, steak was cooked perfect for all 4 meals, full of flavour and very filling! Mushroom sauce was delicious also! The only picky thing is, I think you should be able to order steak with vegetables, without the extra cost and only salad as an option. Highly recommend this hotel. Great job.!

The steak you can get for $18 is very delicious. I'm happy to be able to eat at this price. I also like that you can choose between mashed potatoes or fries. Besides steak they also have delicious dishes such as chicken parma and fish and chips. Anyone who wants a cheap and delicious dinner should go here.

Pretty solid corner pub, $18 lunch deal is hard to beat. Steak was a bit over cooked (medium well instead of medium rare) but chips were perfect and the size of the steak was pretty solid

Had $18 Angus steak. If it was not overcooked, it'd be great. I guess the steak was not seasoned with salt and pepper.

Pleasant tavern pub, great service. Pokies and Racing available downstairs. Bar is on street level. Wheelchair friendly. Clock chimes every 30min. Situated 1x street away from Cavill. The tram lines run past the venue. Classic old hotel with lots of history.

We dined in for the $18 angus rump weekday special meal. The meal does not include sauce or salad, which costs an extra $2.50 and $5 respectively. You may as well buy the
$23 full priced meal which includes sauce and salad. They do not advertise the actual terms and conditions which I found misleading to the consumer. I requested to see the terms but they could not provide these in writing. I ordered my steak medium rare and the steak came out medium. The chef made a second steak but it was thin and chewy. I won't dine here again unfortunately, not a pleasant first time experience.

$18 for the steak and fries(or mash potato) +$2.5 for sauce. Ordered medium rare but came out a bit too done.

Had to try the $16 meals after seeing them advertised out the front. Wow... the steak (thick cut) was delicious and cooked to perfection! Kids really enjoyed the chicken schnitzel's, hot chips were really good too. Very busy (Thursday 27th Oct 2022) but didn't wait long at all for our meals. Staff were really friendly and had a really nice atmosphere too.

Great value for money! Food is fantastic, atmosphere is great. Facilities are clean and it's well located, easy to get to by tram and foot. It's so hard to find a great Chicken Parmigiana now, but we found one here! They did not disappoint. Chicken was juicy and tender, portions were exactly as big as they should be and care went into serving up a tasty dish. Prices are also pretty good. Can't wait to go back and try the cocktails.

I went in lunch at the Clock Hotel and tried one of their pub specials for $13.95. There was a choice of Angus Top Sirloin steak, chicken schnitzel or fish and chips.
Had the Steak with mash potato. Was ok 4/5. Some parts of the steak was very chewy, other parts tender. I ordered the steak to be cooked medium and it came out a little under cooked as had blood coming out when I cut into it, more Medium-rare. Charged extra $2.50 for pepper sauce. No salad.
OK meal but have had better steaks at other pubs in Surfers Paradise for $16 (Goldie's) with chips or mash with salad and sauce.

Great pub very busy, food is amazing and very good prices, quick service, had steak n ribs chef special, downstairs gaming area and toilets, bar and wait staff very friendly, more for couples, groups, as for families, great for a relaxing drink to watch the craziness of the gold coast.

Food is delicious .compliments to the chef's.. New staff doing there best to do there job and doing well . I'd like to go back again for sure ??'?

Loved the food! Great delicious food at very reasonable prices. Salmon on sweet potato Mash was outstanding and the Steaks were lovely too, with a variety of sauces to choose from. Will definitely come back for a good pub feed.

Noisy but good cheap pub meals. Grilled chicken breast cooked to perfection. Place is not much to look at but good value pub grub

closes pub to our hotel QT. walked passed this pub many times and saw the menu, so I had to check them out. food service was quick and the chef was highlight, super friendly. he gave me all the sauces I could ask for. food and drink prices are fair.

They had a really good 10$ steak a year ago. Now it's 14$ plus a side (make ~20$). That is doubling the price. Waxys is selling a 3$ steak (plus sides). I would say it got a bit pricey here.

Today I had the chicken schnitzel, just average, paid for the salad, I should have asked what was in it, I hate rocket & didn't get much else, but the worst part was the very, very over salted chips. The best part of the meal was my lemon lime & bitters. I thought it was a special price, but paid extra for the salad, all up $22 including the drink and normal gravy, just not worth it, such a shame.

Unbelievably good value for meal. The $15 Wagyu rump with 5+ marbling score was tender, juicy, and cooked perfectly. Canu2019t imagine any better steak at such price. The lamb shank meat falls of the bone easily and super tender, very delicious. Would come all the way from Brisbane just to eat at the restaurant again.

Great Monday meal special 250 gram rump steak and chips for a very reasonable price. Fast service and a cold beer. Worth a visit if you are visiting Surfers Paradise. Also the added clock chimes are a bonus.

Great serving sizes, quick service. Friendly service, knocked a star off because I couldn't run a tab behind the bar. Needed to pay each time we had a round of beers.
