Went for Saturday lunch and grabbed the $19 schnitzel with a wine. What a bargain! I was totally obsessed with the chips. Best I've had. The staff were so lovely too. Plus regular cheap beer. Great music. Can't go wrong.

I came here for the vegan feast, and it did not disappoint! The entrees my partner and I shared were all scrumptious. The vegan mushroom pizza was to die for! Mouth watering phenomenon! We finished with an Oreo brownie, which satisfied every spot! To top it all off the staff were very kind and lovely. Will definitely come again. ☺️

Tried finding a good pub in Adelaide. Wow I did. Amazing service and beautiful food. Have recommended to friends! Sam who was absolutely hospitable and friendly, thankyou for making our experience at Royal Oak memorable. We will be back!

I ordered the crumbed lamb cutlet with pistachios and basil pesto and a side of chips which definitely did not disappoint. I was amazed by the quality and freshness and rhe chips were truely the best I've ever had. The staff were also very sweet and attentive and the atmosphere was really nice. Definitely would recommend!!

Nice chill atmosphere. Stopped in for a couple of quiet drinks and loved the place. The band was great, and the place had several different areas, so still able to hear a conversation and the music at the same time. Highly recommend a visit if you're in the area. Looking forward to trying the food on my next visit.

A great place to visit. Very quirkie but I loved it. Service was great with very friendly staff in all areas on the day we visited. Food was amazing with very generous serving sizes. Would recommend. Would definitely visit again next time we are in Adelaide.

Pub was good, drinks well priced, however went in with a group of friends and was rudely and quite bluntly asked for ID (which is totally understandable) however the lady was extremely rude and walked off without serving us after she just checked our IDs. Would probably recommend not being so rude just because a group is younger, especially since the group probably bought $200 worth of drinks.

I recently visited Royal Oak with a group of friends for dinner, and I must say, our experience was highly disappointing. The decline in the quality of their food over the past few years was evident in every aspect of our meal. We ordered a margherita pizza priced at $22 and a grill share platter priced at $50, expecting a delightful culinary experience. the pizza we received seemed like it had been hastily thrown into the oven straight from the freezer. The crust felt more like bread, lacking the authentic crispness and flavor one expects from a well-made pizza. As for the grill share platter, it was a sad sight to behold. The presentation was underwhelming, and the portion size did not justify the hefty price tag. The selection of items on the platter seemed meager, and the overall quality was subpar. Even the cocktails, while not terrible, were far from impressive. This experience was the final straw for us, and we have decided not to return.

We had three pizzas. Nice topping on all, but the bases were consistently under-cooked.
Soft and bread like.
Not an authentic pizza base. I know they have just started doing pizzas but please get this right.
The pie and mash looked fantastic.
Beers (great selection) are great and service is excellent.

Love the grungy feel to the place. There is a great section out back for private parties. Front bar is cozy and feels good.

Joshua has gone out of his way to make sure we are all looked after, coming out the front and lighting all the heaters to keep us warm.

Food is excellent. Solid serving size. Came out very quick. Staff are very friendly. They were able to accomodate our 11 people. Ended up spending a couple of hours to enjoy the live music after dinner. Food for the kids was great.

Was a really nice atmosphere but unfortunately the food was subpar. My chicken schnitzel was burnt and very dry & tough. And the chips were soggy and flavourless. I'd come back for a drink maybe but probably not the food

This is actually my first bad review, the girls at the bar must have had a bad day ,after being over charged on my card when I tapped they couldn't have been more unhelpful in trying to fix up the drink order.
Their attitude is what the problem was, so we went down the road had a delicious meal at another pub where the staff were great ??'?.

Food was amazing, thankyou. My only critique is that when they take you to your table, we didn't get any menus or told to go to the bar to order. We just sat there waiting and we had to go ask for menus. Just a bit of customer service in that regard would be better, otherwise service was great.

Love this venue! Food is amazing, the beer selection is huge and offers lots of local micro brewery options. The decor has a retro and warming vibe and the atmosphere is relaxed and inviting. Great to see live music back in venues like this! Get down here you won't regret it.

I can't believe how bad the service is at this place. The staff don't care, it's written all over there faces. They just look at you as saying oh well get over it.
It all started when ordering our meals. They have seemed to not have ordered enough food for their kitchen. If you are looking for a schnitzel you need to order ahead of time because you may not get one. Dinners come out randomly so the first person finishes as the last person starts. "Annoying". Our meals were cold, lost 3 dinner's and a pint of Guinness. Finally we asked for our lost drinks and food to find that they had gone on a break. "Really!"
What happened to this place.

The Royal Oak was absolutely buzzing on Sunday evening when we went for dinner. It was a cosy and electric environment. It was our first time at the pub and we enjoyed our meal. Two steaks were ordered rare and came out well done but we're not fussy eaters and enjoyed them all the same.

Food and staff are amazing
Extremely friendly staff and very helpful especially the gentleman helping me workout how to use the scan order and pay app that had plenty of patience. My wife and I love the atmosphere and the schnitzel with mushroom cream sauce was delicious. We will have the tapas on our next visit

What a great little rustic place. Last night it featured an accoustic guitarist singing eighties hits. The decor is retro/ vintage and the meal sections huge. They have an excellent plant based menu as well as wagyu steak. Parking is easy down the side streets. Highly recommended.

I love this pub. Real staff that care about the drinks they make. Great service. Live music when they can and great food. Just ate the burnt ends and karaange chicken . Wow. This is a real pub.

Just what I needed after a physical day working, and a laugh is inclusive. Always room for improvement, but as a majority, a great local.

I love the Royal Oak! Great beers on tap and fantastic food. Could maybe reconsider the electric furniture. It looks quirky but not necessarily comfortable or practical.

Excellent venue and great atmosphere. Highly recommend it but especially the food. The food there is amazing. From the steaks, ribs, and the rabbit feed ain't bad either (vegans and vegetarians will die for it). One of the better pubs going around these days.

I held my sons 21st birthday at the Royal oak in the beer garden as a private function. It was an amazing venue. All staff that were on bar or helping out were cool and kind. Mel the event Manager is also great to communicate with. I highly recommend.

Wonderfully nostalgic as we had not been there for many years but it hasn't changed. Fantastically distressed and eclectic decor, cosy dining area with good food and several vegan options. Friendly staff but they could do with a few more during busy times.

By far best pub in North Adelaide. Live performance on weekends and friendly staff. Great food too with a variety of atmospheres to eat. Would come back to Adelaide just for this pub!

I just happened to walk past the place and saw 5 friends I haven't seen since Covid. Great selection of wines. Especially Jim Barry's Cover Drive. My personal favorite. Service was Excellent.

Went for a late lunch, not many people there. Lovely atmosphere and staff but the chicken burger was terrible. Thick, crusty batter all over the chicken that tasted horrible like they reuse the oil too many times. Fries were also brown and overcooked. After removing all the batter (more than half the volume) there was some nice chicken underneath but I wouldn't go back and try anything else if that's what they think is an acceptable standard.

Please remove the table where the kitchen is. Throwing pots and pans into the sink is all we heard over what was meant to be a lovely Valentines dinner. Spending over $100 for night you would expect better.

Great fun place with good vibe and good food. I like the quirkiness of the place. It hasn't changed over the years. They don't look like they are trying to be funky.... It just is! Hey down there.... You may even catch some great entertainment.
