Gabby was immediately welcoming, so polite and friendly to all of us, good humour too. She is good at what she does!

Food was delicious and presented really nicely.
Tables were set up nicely, and was comfortably warm even though it's freezing outside.

My daughter had had her first taste of chocolate and approved.. 🥰

Visited there for a function the other day. I was greeted by the staff with a smile and what I would like to drink.
Service was great, and the food was amazing. We had shared plates of food that I've never tasted before. Tables were set beautifully, and the room set out looked fresh with its own private bar. For a function there, I highly recommend the The Lion Hotel. They also have an outdoor area with mist spray in the hot weather. I thoroughly enjoyed visiting there.

What a lovely find. We came for lunch and shared a fish and chips as the servings are quite large. The batter on the fish was crispy and light and the chips were crunchy and full of flavour. A nice salad on the side really rounded out this meal. You can choose from inside or outside dining and outside was very shady and cool. Recommended.

This was my first time eating here and I was truly impressed. We had the Curry of the Day which was a Thai Beef Curry, the Curry base was fantastic and the beef was lovely and tender. Warm Chicken Salad was amazing and the chicken was so tender and flavoursome. The cheese dish was lovely and the Bread and Chicken Platter was so delicious as well.

Espresso Martini was lovely as well and had a nice strength to it.

Very impressed and would go back again.

I attended a work conference at the Lion yesterday. The food was amazing and the setting was great. The young lady in charge of our group for the entire day was excellent. She was incredibly attentive and so friendly.

10/10 Amazing restaurant! Its a really big place, we ordered waffles and smashed avocado. The waffles weren't like the other cafes, not as sweet but it's perfectly fine. The smashed avocado was definitely worth getting.

Stayed close by and it was an easy and quick walk down for breakfast. The Lion is a great place for breakfast and the meals were well presented and delicious.

This pub is just next level. Craft beer on tap, an in-house wine shop, great bistro with outdoor seating and live music out the front and the most amazing fine dining restaurant I've ever come across in a pub. Have been to the restaurant twice this week and couldn't fault the food, the amazing staff and relaxed atmosphere - all while sipping on a local oat stout from the bar before sitting down for the most amazing feed I've had in a while. Thanks Lion Team, see you again real soon. No staging required for the photos - the food speaks for itself.

I had the gnocchi and it was so delicious. I've never had gnocchi that was as velvety and melt in the mouth. Highly recommend.

We had a fantastic evening at the restaurant. The chefs and staff were so accommodating and kind. They helped me with my no garlic and no onion FODMAP dietary requirements and produced a delicious meal. Thank you to all the staff for your kind attention and service.

The only reason this is Not 5 stars is because their app ordering system can sometimes either be slow, an error of not allowing you to select certain foods on the menu when it was available 2 seconds ago or sometimes forgets your beer all together leaving you waiting for more than an hour and have the bar staff be annoyed at us that wed come to the bar as we were still waiting on our bear we ordered through the app

Update: 22/12/2022: Went for lunch with family. This time I used the mryum app. Found the Chicken Parmigiana, to be a tasty and fulfilling meal.
The waiter was happy to fill us in on the changes to the building, the removal of the ballroom, but that the cellar remains, and is available for private functions.

Very neat hotel. Very modern designs in this classic hotel. Dinner for steak etc and weird you have to order and pay for food and them go elsewhere to order and pay for drinks. Seperate businesses I guess.

Came for lunch 23/09/22 and ordered oysters, barramundi and the salmon dish.

The 20something waitress had no manners or customer service skills. Not sure why they work in these industries but may have just been a bad day.

Went to The Lion Hotel for breakfast. The menu is very small with only one vegan option. A couple more options in general would be nice. Staff were lovely and the hotel layout is really nice. The vegan bagel was quite nice, though the apple slaw was a little bit too wet for my liking.

Incredible service. From speaking with bookings to secure a table to the service we experienced while there, all staff were so friendly. One waitress in particular (I think her name was Gabby) was brilliant and made us feel welcome. The food was exceptional and the added touch to our dessert knowing it was a birthday celebration was so lovely. Will definitely be back!

A nice place to hang out, with an outdoor terrace and indoor seating. The portion sizes were large and they offer up a good burger. The Lion Hotel also offer a good variety of beers and ales on tap.

We walked in and found a table at the sport bar. We had steak and burger. The size of the meals were big enough for adults. Their tiger prawns and broken chicken fat potatoes were amazing too. Their desserts were nice and big for the price. We loved the dark chocolate and the cheesecake ones.

-Our meals (eye fillet and parmigiana, potato's and salad, amazing, well cooked, zero faults.
-Everything brought out correctly and quickly.
-Reasonably priced
-Everyone reasonably spaced between tables.
-135 minute seating was more than sufficient (this 90 min time limit at other restaurants currently is ridiculous)

Like to go here for a quick beer or a meal from time to time. Has been renovated in last year or so and food is nicely prepared pub style food. Seems to be a separate restaurant that looks more upmarket with its own menu but i haven't been there. There is also fireplace next to one side of the bar which is nice in winter.

Exceptional dining experience! The Restaurant is our favourite and if you get Chris waiting on your table, you have the best ! The bistro has a great vibe but does get noisy on weekends, however food still wonderful. Definitely one of Adelaides finest!

4 of us had dinner in the restaurant tonight. The food was excellent, with a good variety of meals, good portion sizes, and all well presented. A great selection of gins and wines was available, too. Chris, our waiter was exceptional. He was friendly, engaging, polite & very professional. The ambience of the restaurant is first class. We will definitely return.

Enjoyed my steak, was a little on the rare side for a medium but good quality. Would have been nice to have a little more fresh veg to cut through the heavy red meat.

Service was very good, staff friendly.

Toilets could do with a good scrub.

Lovely food and atmosphere. Wonderful to be able to enjoy a brunch/lunch/coffee on the terrace after a walk with our beloved dog. So few places are kind enough to welcome dogs on outdoor premises.

Lovely meals served in a timely manner by friendly staff. The smoke from the nearby outdoor area was not very pleasant during our meal, otherwise it was a nice evening. Hopefully they can seal the doors properly in the future.

If I could give this North Adelaide institution 10 out of 5 stars, I would definitely do so. Top pub around the traps of Adelaide. Have blown the froth off of many a pint in this joint over the years. Keep up the good work! I look forwards to bending more elbows here in the future. Keep up the good work.

Had a beautiful meal, and the men had a few drinks. Staff were great, very pleasant and helpful. Delighted we picked The Lion Hotel last night and tonight. Wonderful! We had a big group of 26 and all meals looked amazing. Big serves and reasonably priced. Everyone happy. My meal was the Murray Valley pork belly bowl absolutely beautiful flavours. My caffeine detector brought me to The Lion for breakfast. The steak was one of the best in adelaide. Absolutely delicious. The sauce, the onions, the mash all worked so well. Then the lamb was just master chef stuff. Such complex flavours with mushrooms, a nutty paste tying the meat with the veg. Great experience. Very much recommended.
