I'd never been to the Norman sober before, but I hadn't been there in a long time. I heard it burnt in between visits.

They still specialise in steaks, but I did the thing you're not suppose to do at a steak restaurant: I ordered the fish - barramundi actually - and it was delicious.

The birthday bloke is almost full carnivore and very much enjoyed his beef. Everyone in our party of 12 practically licked our plates clean.

Food service was good, but table service was a bit slow, or they'd forget - mostly young guys.

Five different faces about our table told me the staff weren't given a section, and you need sections in a place like this because the indoor/ outdoor architecture was made up of sections somehow separate from each other.

Decor was good: basic pub with plants - plants make everything nice and they were everywhere. (They were able to keep some of the original brickwork.) Seats weren't plush but they were comfortable, plenty of space to accommodate our group.
The table had a bar heater over the top that provided an even distribution of warmth, which was good because it was pretty cold, and it wasn't set annoyingly high.

Good times for a 50th birthday 🎈They were accommodating to our needs, even on game night, moving our table from the bare other side to the back area. And they brought out the cake and things accordingly - though a little disappointed they closed the coffee machine so early, especially as most of us are coffee-loving Dutch. It would have gone down perfectly with the Black Forest cake.

We've been coming to the Norman hotel for many, many years, and we have also taken on the 1kg Big Norman Challenge. There truly isn't another place that comes close, trust me we've tried others. The steaks are always superb, and every side and topper is fresh and delicious.

We've celebrated so many occasions here over the years. From the moment you park your car, you can smell the steaks sizzling on the grill, and the atmosphere is always inviting. The hospitality and customer service is consistently professional, and the convenient parking is a bonus.

Hands down the best. Thank you to all the staff for making my hubby\'s birthday dinner so good. Not surprised, haven\'t had a bad meal here to date but we see how busy it is and we don\'t have to wait, our food is hot, staff are friendly and that does really make a difference. Shout out to Edie for taking the orders so attentively and if I had everyone else\'s names I\'d personally thank them too 😊

I ordered a steak cooked to a specific method, but unfortunately it was not cooked as requested. The mashed potato was also extremely hard and not enjoyable. On a positive note, the price for the meat itself was reasonable for what was offered.

Dessert was hit and miss - the sticky date pudding was genuinely good and the highlight of the meal. However, the tiramisu was very disappointing. What was served did not match the advertised photo at all. When I raised this, the explanation was that the photos hadn't been updated online, but no alternative dessert or compensation was offered, which was frustrating.

Overall, some decent value, but inconsistency in food quality and presentation let the experience down.

I was looking forward to eating here. The atmosphere was great although i personally dont appreciate the smell of cigarette smoke right beside the eatery. Staff were welcoming and very helpful. The food looked amazing but unfortunately I was let down with my $60 eye fillet undercooked and the pepper sauce was too much.
