Donna and Dennis certainly did a great job keeping up with the country crowd. A great venue to host any occasion.

A 120 year old pub that has history in cairns. Worth a dropping in for a cold beer or even a wine.

We were a group of nine that was meeting up at this establishment for some Coopers on tap Sunday afternoon as one of our group , a Thai Australian woman was celebrating her 63rd birthday. When she arrived she asked to use the toilet prior to buying a beer and joining those that had already arrived. She was told that her "type" was not allowed to use their toilets and she should use the toilets in the park. She reiterated her request stating she was fully employed and was going to buy a beer but wanted to relieve herself before drinking. A second comment again about her "type" . Very offensive and people using this establishment should be wary if they deem you are not their type. She was not drunk, not offensive in anyway. After we learned what happened we left immediately and will never return. Blatant racism.

Very experienced publican, wife and son. Great atmosphere. Last of the original 'Barbary Coast' pubs and fitted out old style. Great spot to sit, enjoy the breezes and watch the world go by especially since end of covid, hopefully. Cruise terminal and board walk that goes through harbour and loops to Esplanade.

We love this pub and the staff. It's got a great homely feeling to it. Might be because we're from SA and they have Coopers on tap 😉. Great atmosphere, great staff, great beer. 10/10.

A iconic Cairns pub , built in the 1890s overlooking the wharfs and inlet, great service and ice cold beer, open at midday, they have a TAB, Melbourne Cup day I'm there, support the locals

the beer and the seating outside was excellent.
just visited here on May 12 and without doubt the rudest bar man I have ever experienced.
in Sydney u wouldn't last 1 shift !!!!!!!

Efficient and thoughtful staff in one of the few remaining classic Australian pubs that has busy and enthusiastic jazz sessions.

Not very cool sorry, I'm a support worker for the disability and my client asked for some water in a jug and was told to use the fountain across the road. He also asked to use the toilet but was told no because he hasn't bought anything yet and he walked in the wrong door. The experience wasn't welcoming.

Cairns' last water front historical hotel. Great history, cold beer and where locals have been meeting since Cairns was born. Top experience for those wanting to enjoy the laid back lifestyle Cairns offers.

Historic pub now bereft of character, no accommodation and no meals. Basic selection of beers. Staff are good and service is quick but if you are looking for history and character look elsewhere

The staff are excellent, the pub itself has been renovated beautifully. It will certainly be a place we will visit again and again. Well done Dennis and the team.
