What is ur pleasure? A genuine public bar, a secluded outdoor table, indoors surrounded by history an out door live band? This place has it all, combined with great food and a good wine selection.

Went to the Grand View Hotel for lunch on a day trip. Beer garden and dining area were nice. Ordered the Japanese style fish and chips. Whilst the fish was beautiful, juicy and hot the chips were cold. Not warm or luke warm, more like they had been fried 2-3 hours earlier so, were literally cold. Spoilt what would have been a great dish. If you order any meal that comes with chips I recommend you ask for the chips to be served hot.

I've been dining at the Grand View Hotel for a month now, and I have to say, their food is absolutely amazing. The portions are a bit smaller compared to the motels in the Bowen region, but the quality more than makes up for it.

However, I had a bit of an odd experience the other night when I ordered two cans of coke at the bar. The bartender opened both cans without asking me first, citing it as the rule. I asked him if he would open all six cans if I had bought that many, and he said yes. I was a bit frustrated at the time and walked off with my open cans.

I couldn't help but wonder - if I had bought water instead, would he have opened those too? Or if a nearby diner ran out of coke and had to buy a case from them, would all 30 cans be opened? It just seemed a bit strange to me.

Overall, the Grand View Hotel has great food, but I hope they reconsider their policy on opening canned beverages without asking first. It's the little things that can make a big difference in the customer experience.

We had a good Ole bar lunch and it was great.
Enjoyed the mushroom and steak pie and a chicken schnitzel and of course a nice cold ale. Outdoor dining was beautiful.

Monday night chicken schnitzel special, $20 with wine or a beer, absolutely delicious. Every part of the dish was exceptional. Best pub feed in a long time. Highly recommend.

During our recent visit to this hotel, we decided to try out their dining options by ordering five of the highly recommended appetizers. Unfortunately, our experience fell far below expectations.

Starting with the cheesy spring rolls, they were barely edible, probably the best out of everything, but still only deserving of a three out of five rating. The chicken wings were a complete disappointment, as they were laden with feathers, making them inedible. We attempted to salvage some pieces for the flavor, which was decent, but the overall quality of the chicken was a dismal one out of five.

Moving on to the pork belly sliders, they were more like burnt belly sliders, as the pork belly was completely charred. Despite the bun and other accompaniments being fine, the burnt pork was a major letdown. The smoked beef brisket sandwich with Smith crisp chips was also a hard pass, as it was downright disgusting.

As for the Indian chicken banana wafers, the taste was acceptable, but the appearance was unappealing, to say the least. The atmosphere of the restaurant was a major disappointment, earning a zero-star rating. While the location looked beautiful and the service was commendable, the loud drunkenness from the adjacent bar significantly detracted from the overall ambiance. The only positive aspect was the ability to choose the music played.

In summary, while the service and location showed promise, the subpar food quality and unpleasant atmosphere left much to be desired. Overall, our dining experience at this hotel fell short of expectations.

This place is Gorgeous! The spotless, rustic, theme - Gorgeous! The service team - Gorgeous! And the food - So Gorgeous! And to top it all off; a curtesy bus with a gorgeous driver. I cannot recommend the Grandview enough! Great work Team ??'- Well done!

Great pub. Cheap beer ($4 schooners from 10am-12pm). Menu was awesome too. We had the duck Pancakes and the pork belly sliders. Both were really nice and enjoyable.

Had the fillet steak, cooked to perfection, medium rare. Service and courtesy bus was first class on a slow Sunday night.

A beautiful establishment! You can sense the pride in the restaurant as soon you walk in and see the care that is put into taking care of it. The food was ah-mazing! My compliments to the chef for a delicious dinner. The staff were great, and so kind. A truly wonderful place. They really went above and beyond to take care of us American Soldiers during our stay in Bowen. My deepest gratitude to everyone who works here, thank you!

Nice place to go for food. It's set out is lovely. Plenty of seating . The outside seating is very pleasant and Just watch out for the tree . It's in outside seating area . We saw so many people come close to banging their head. Prices reasonably. Friendly staff. Toilets were Yes worth a visit . Plenty of car parking .

Unfortunately had the worst piece of rump I have ever tasted. I could hardly cut it never mind chew it. The wife loved her twice cooked pork belly.
Maybe they have to look at their meat supplier or the person who cooked it and served it up. Sorry but a big disappointment

An amazing old pub with a hip, modern vibe. It also had absolute restaurant quality meals, We ended up eating there for two days in a row during our stay in Bowen as there were too many good choices on the menu for a single visit. Whoever is responsible for this place should be rightly proud of themselves and their team, absolutely fantastic!!!

Visiting Bowen on way from Gold Coast to Cairns. Staying at Port Dennison Motor Inn and Marnie recommended dinner at Grand View. Great meals and really friendly bar staff. Great history as well

The food came out incredibly fast!
My partner and I had the prawn entré with the mango sauce. This was divine!
And had two pastas for mains, and crepes for dessert. Everything was lovely. Staff was super friendly as well.

Ordered the Pork Belly which looks great but was dry I didn't enjoy the flavour. The chicken wings very nice.
Service was friendly however I felt overall lacked attention. Had to call staff over to order more drinks, our bill was misplaced when we went to settle.

We had a delicious lunch here today. The staff were friendly and helpful. Our food was great. Hubby had the chunky pie float which he really enjoyed and I had the poke bowl which was so full of different flavours. Both inside and outside areas are lovely. Will definitely be back here again next time we are in Bowen.

I was very satisfied with this place. I did not expect much but it was good value for money. We had chicken schnitzels with fries and gravy and ailoli dip. I also liked the atmosphere and interior. Staff friendly. Quick service. We were able to eat there without any booking (Sat evening, AFL final). Recommended. (Visited Sep 22)

Excellent pub ..The young bartender was so helpful with his service as were the young girls in the restaurant area all friendly and pleasant. Our meals were excellent and did not take long to be served and the pub was packed.
We will be definitely going back ...

Only 4 as we didn't eat there. Had a coffee & Canadian & our furbaby was welcomed too. Sat out the front looking out to the beach. Yummy coffee & so up there with the nicest service.
Will be going again!

Visiting from Melbourne after coming for a holiday to North Queensland and the Whitsundays. Being born in Bowen and visiting again after many years on my birthday was very nostalgic. I came to this place looking for a nice place to have dinner with my fiance for my birthday. I was shown to a nice table out the back even though I did not have a booking. The service was efficient and friendly. The food was amazing, the pork belly entree was amazing. Thank you for making my night and my trip back to Bowen more memorable.

What a fabulous pub to visit. We dined outside in the beautiful courtyard under the frangipani tree and fairy lights with ocean views. The inside is nicely decorated. The customer service was exceptional from the waitresses and male floor manager. The food was absolutely delicious and wonderfully presented. We had the oysters and pork belly salad. We highly recommend dining here. You will not be disappointed.

Meal quality good, staff pleasant but we had to ask for menus, water, etc. One meal returned due to undercooked, but returned lovely. Entree arrived after mains. Coffee came without sugar or spoon. Maybe just an off night for staff. But still had good meals, in a nice setting.

Went here on Sunday for lunch and was totally surprised. We had lunch in the outside court yard under the shade of the frangipani. All the staff were fabulous with great service A good choice of food on the menu and all well presented and tasty. Well worth a meal at this historic hotel.

Glad we booked. Greeted and served by friendly staff. Garlic bread was absolutely delicious. Wife's medium steak w' veggies and mushroom sauce came out rare, and my rare steak w' veggies and brie butter came out medium, (Was Chief under pressure or something else?). Veggies cooked to perfection and potato-bake bed was very complimentary. The brie-butter I would thoroughly recommend to cheese lovers. Don't be put off by an absent minded chief, just make sure everyone orders something different. Such is life!

Fantastic location overlooking the Pacific. Had a catered family reunion and the cooked seafood platter was spectacular. Ate in the pub restaurant last time it was really delicious and good deals if youre ok eating with 50 punters yelling at the horse races on telly. It was VERY Bowen. Loved it

I attended this place to eat some late lunch, as soon as I walked in I was greeted by the friendly staff. We went to order and were amazed on how good the service was at the restaurant!!! I ordered the Chicken Cesar Wrap and wow, just wow, the chicken was cooked to perfection and it was truly a perfect wrap and the chips were nice and crispy and went very well with the homemade barbecue sauce!! The outside area was decorated very well and was a great vibe. I 100% recommended this place to anyone who is looking for a good drink and feed!!!

A beautiful courtyard for a lunch on a sunny day. We had the ocean platter and it was a great twist on a traditional seafood platter. The staff were great too. Right near the waterfront and the water park.

Was very impressed from the moment I walked in. A spacious area that was appealing to the eye with its layout and furnishings. Staff were amazing as was the food. This will be my go to when I'm next in Bowen.

Was busy with lunch crowd but was lucky to get a table; great selection on menu including kids meals. Affordable, food portion is generous and modern atmosphere.

Loved it! Kitchen was minutes from closing however waiter allowed us to order quickly knowing our kiddies were hungry bugs. The outdoor area is so pretty and great for groups and kids. The food -- yum! loved that this is a pub with decent not normal "pub food" the asian dishes were delish! thanks for a great experience.
