The room was clean, a little older, but in good repair. It was quiet in the room despite having many guests. The restaurant was very busy so we had a wait on food. We knew we would, so no problem. I had mushroom arrancini and wedges. Best I've had in the area. Hubby had steak and thoroughly enjoyed it. Staff were friendly and helpful. A very good place to stay.

After 10 people ordered together for a meal in the bistro. We were aware that there would be a wait as it was very busy.
BUT 4 meals were served & the other 6 were still not served 1 1/2 hrs later. BUT other tables of 20 that ordered after our table & were eating & the remainder of our table still wasn't served. We can't understand why our complete table wasn't served at one time. Therefore we left without the remainder meals being served
WE WILL NOT RETURN. !!!!!!

We were staying at the caravan park just behind the pub so thought we'd give it a go for dinner. I had the vegetarian carbonara, someone else had the steak and someone the lamb shank. One of the most decent pub meals I've had in a long time as normally I am disappointed with the meal as well as the inflated prices for what you get. Recommend for a pleasant pub meal and value for money.

We were staying in the caravan park across the road and ordered the pork ribs to share (we're seniors). There was plenty for 2, and VB on tap was a bonus. Wednesday night is surf and turf for $25.

We have been a few times of late from
Airlie beach. The food has been spot on every time. But I would like to acknowledge the young lady working yesterday. Her customer service was excellent and refreshing.
She was most helpful, without asking for help.
10/10 from me..

Had dinner. Nicest pub meal that we have had in a long time. Really tasty side salad, with actual dressing. Chicken Mignon was very tasty with decent amount of sauce. Nice tasty chips. Great location near the beach and 2 caravan parks

The room smelt mouldy and was really dusty when we arrived. We could not believe how bad the room looked. I don't think it has seen a paint brush in 20 years. The carpet was old and stained. The walls were grubby, the room was so poorly maintained, old and grungy. The quality of the room was a rip off for what we paid.
We ate in the bistro no one cleared our plates until I got someone's attention. The staff made sure everytime they walked past they would not make eye contact so you wouldn't ask for anything. We ordered dessert over their stupid app and we sat for ages waiting for chocolate mousse, until we asked for it.
Do yourselves a favour and don't stay here.

Had a lovely meal. Nice staff. A little shy but nice and helpful. For the seniors. Grab a seniors steak with a side of ribs. Full on feed for $33 and you won't need breakfast. Even the wine we had was nice. Best part was and I don't gamble. I put a couple of dollars in a pokie on the way out and won $70. We will be back as the food was cook perfectly.

Stayed for one night in a motel room. Had everything we needed and clean. Screen front door would be nice for fresh air but we were able to open the bathroom window which helped with ventilation. Had dinner outside which was lovely and the music was pleasant. Food was good although a little on the salty side for us. Prices are on the high side for what we usually pay at better hotels. Staff are at reception and the bistro are friendly and welcoming. A good stopover across from the beach.

The room was so comfortable and clean and the staff fantastic from start to finish. The only problems we had were witnessing other travellers annoy the restaurant staff with outrageous complaints and demands from whinging about the table varnish to having to pay more for the bottled coke. We had second hand embarrassment for what the staff had to deal with. Awesome work from the team there, we will be back.

Had a seniors meal but smaller than a childs meal. Cold wind but not able to close bar door. Even staff left door open after we attempted to close. Bit of a rabbit warren but can find a nice place to eat without loud music

Had dinner here our first night in the caravan park and my chicken schnitzel was the best I have had for ages. Very clean pub and nice staff.

Just enjoyed a Parmigiana, Salad & chips, hubby enjoyed the Mackerel.

It was what I needed: a break point in a long drive, hot shower and a good meal and a nice walk on the beach at sunset before having a drink and dinner.

Some pros and cons: This is perfect for someone who wants to stay close to their car. There was, literally, less than half a meter between the door to my room and the door to my car.

Unfortunately, that meant no privacy at all. Anyone walking by could see into the room if the curtains were open as that whole wall was glass. There was no security screen or fly screen on that glass sliding door and no other windrow. There was no fan either. So you had the options of aircon on or lying in a pool of sweat, even though the evening was a pleasant, cool one.

Now I know, most Queenslanders love the aircon, this won't bother them. I like windows.

There was no light in the toilet, which was weird and no door to the toilet/bathroom area. I know this is a double room, but I'm not sure all couples want to share toileting, even if they share a bed?

The little coffee area and barfridge were well positioned and equipped, the bed was huge and comfortable. Not all of the lights worked.

So, yes, it might be exactly what you are looking for. Just a quirk or two in there.

Had lunch here on Sunday and after placing our order (I chose 1 of the Specials) and enjoying our drinks, I was advised that the special had sold out the evening prior.
Asked what I would like in its place by the very apologetic and accommodating staff, I replied "Surprise me!"

What arrived a short while later was one of the best meals I have had in years - and I dine out a LOT as i live in Airlie. This meal (and staff) was so good that Im writing a review which is not something I usually do.

Crispy skin pan fried Barramundi on a salsa bed - which consisted of avocado, red onion, capsicum, prawns, tomato with a very bright herb dressing.

It was spectacular.

Moreso when I asked the staff member to pass on my biggest thanks and compliment to the Chef, I also asked what menu item this was so that I may order it again. I was informed that the Chef made it specifically for me due to being sold out of my order. The Chef had gone above and beyond.

This was the first time I'd eaten here and I will most definitely be back !

The rooms do need updating especially bathroom. In saying this I would say the beds were clean and comfortable. My room was not close to road so had a great sleep. Air-conditioner worked but very noisy. So I just used ceiling fan which was ok. Bathroom did have some small cleaning issues but all good. The restaurant which served meals dine in or takeaway I cannot fault. Our meals were superb delicious and more than filling. Service was exceptional ??'? would rate 10 out of 5 that is how good it was. Prices were good as any other place we had been to. Well done to Chef and staff.

Was able to check-in early and book on the spot. The cabin was equipped with a comfy bed, lounge and had all the homeware you need. The place was clean, everything operated properly an friendly staff. The bottle-o was close and convenient.

Amazing staff, venue and location. Couldn't have been made more welcome. Veronica has been incredible to us. The locals even made my dog feel welcome, infact they remember his name and not mine 😂 wortha visit for a great feed and cheap alcohol

Accomodation is good For working class , Bar is good although quieter than it was . Ordering a meal is unbelievable. By phone or walk round the back to look at menus then walk back to finally order , but only with cash. Otherwise go hungry.strange how staff don't stay long.

Stayed here when we got caught in the floods. Staff were amazing, couldn't help us enough. Rooms were a bit old, but clean, comfortable beds and pillows, great shower. Food was fantastic. We even got a phone call to tell us the highway was open and we could get home. Appreciate everything the staff did. Keep up the great work.

Nicely laid out room however had some small issues that hugely impact the rating. I imagine we just got the worst room. Deadlock doesn't work, half the lights were not working and glass missing in the bathroom allowing insects in throughout the day and night.

Would stay here again and recommend it, on the premise that I think we just had the dud room.

Great food and cheap beer for a cheeky Friday afternoon knock off. Staff are fantastic, witnessed a very awful, misogynistic and aggressive customer being overly vocal about a simple mistake and the team handled it with grace and patience. Huge props to the team :)

Let's start with the negatives...
Staff smoking outside our room we paid to stay in, travelling with kids and we dont smoke. Not ok.... absolutely disgusting and disturbing that they find it ok to sit outside the room window and smoke.
They force you to use an app to order food then you get hit with a surcharge, then allow others to pay with cash.
The waiter has been fed bulldust, stating that he's been told there is no surcharge. I got charged a surcharged that you are not warned about until you get to the end. Not ok.
1 meal came out 20 minutes before the other 2, not all parents want to have their kids eat on their own. We go out to eat as a family, not to have 1 meal go cold before getting the rest as she wont eat on her own.
Food tastes good, but lacking presentation and service is lacking.
Drinks are not prioritised in order of ordering, they leave those who ordered on the app til last, and left waiting while others have had a couple rounds of drinks and we got nothing.
Tried to discuss with staff but they werent interested. So I'll put it all out there in the review.
Accommodation room is very spacious, clean and comfortable.

Great outdoor space to have a drink after walking the the dog on the beach.

Good prices at the adjoining bottle shop too.

The room was clean and surprisingly quiet. The bed was super comfy - room 10! The staff were so helpful- I'd broken my ankle and wasn't sure how long I'd have to stay but when I needed an extra night they juggled things so I could stay in the same room and I was so very grateful. I'd definitely stay again. Price was reasonable too.

Nice little room. Just dated. Good little revamp and it'll feel more lux. Ideas... wooden floor boards in main area, new paint, new lighting and fan fixtures, bathroom upgrade, mirrors, fox channels for TV. The beds are nice and comfortable (The most important thing done right) I'm not a fussy person, just a place to sleep and shower is all I need. It's a nice little place

Very disappointed. Only restaurant in the area. You can only order food from an app that doesn't allow you to customise. When ordering food and beverages together they conveniently forget your drinks. Don't bother as mass produce mush. Nobody came to check in to see if my meal was OK.....must be why I am the only customer here ???'
Go to McDonald's instead and you will get a better quality feed and service.

On Friday night went there for a meal and a few beers with my wife.
A couple of the barmaids had no idea how to pour the beer.
At 6.50pm we decided to go into the restaurant area to order meals, but we unceramounsly informed that " we are not taking any more orders"
Absolutely disappointed as nothing was available in the area.

arrived for a late check in and pub closed. room was good, staff very friendly nd helpful. 2 min walk across to the beach. good location.

Checked into my room after 9pm feeling horrible for arriving so late the bar staff/ receptionist was so friendly and polite. Both staff and customers were also helpful in providing coffee tips for the morning travel. I look forward to coming back for a cold beer and meeting more friendly locals.

Coming from away on holidays we ordered a take away meal there on Tuesday the 28_12 _21 the food was disgusting, it had to be thrown in the bin.
& I was charged $25 for a serve of veges for my granddaughter. Not happy at all. Will definitely not be ordering from there again.
I think the manager needs to go into the kitchen & eat the food they are serving up & see how he or she likes it.

A great place to stay and terrific value for money.
A clean, tidy room which has been newly renovated. A comfy bed ensure a good night's sleep. Having the pub nearby allowed us to enjoy a cold beverage and good feed. We will be back.

The girls at the bar were so helpful. Sarah was a standout as she helped me find a table and showed me around the hotel. Fish was divine. Definitely come again for a meal and a Chardonnay.

The bed was comfy, the shower was great.
But I do wish that the curtains fitted the window/door better so we had more privacy from the outside and turned the outside light off.... woke us up at 2:30.......

We stayed in Bowen on our way to Cairns and stopped into this lovely pub for lunch. Jodi in the bar was so welcoming we thought we would stop in and use the accommodation on our way home from Cairns to the gold coast.
The rooms are top notch for the amount spent. Cherry was super helpful when we checked in. We of course ate at the pub again for our dinner and once again Jodi was just amazing with Kobi behind the bar also an absolute delight! Can't recommend this place enough, either for a pub lunch or a night or two accommodation. You're always made welcome at Queen's beach hotel!

Dropped in just before 2pm after a long drive to find the Bistro is open till 2.30pm! The Premium Beef burger was outstanding. The thick homemade pattie was cooked medium so it was juicy. The chips were fluffy and not oily. Feature beer is 150 Lashes for 1 pint $7!!

May Day long weekend.Had dinner here Friday night & it was great! Attended a family function on the Saturday night & was annoyed when an overexcited staff member threw my $8 beverage away after I rested it on the bar, while I was still standing there. My elderly parents on Sunday night ordered dinner @ 5:45pm from the Seniors menu, which included dessert. The staff member, I won't mention her name, was obviously stressed, as we asked (politely) about dessert after they had waited until after 7pm, only to be yelled at by the staff member in a hostile manner. While they were waiting larger tables had already had their meals & dessert. Obviously understaffed & disorganised.

Best pub food we have had for ages. Well cooked and well presented.

Great location with the beach being very close. Easy for meals as the pub is right next door. Would definitely stay again.

Great food, cold beer and great entertainment. Happy days. The accommodation is well presented with the rooms clean and well stocked.

Great food and awesome attitudes. The ladies do a fantastic job at the bars and meals are always to what is asked for. Cant ask for much more when its a quick walk across to the beach.
