Oh so disappointing to be leaving this review. We've eaten at the "Term" at least a couple of times a year for the past few years, and have always enjoyed great food and top notch service from well trained staff. Last night (Friday 4 October) we arrived for our 7pm booking and were rushed through our two-course meal in under an hour. We were only halfway through our entrees when our mains arrived. On politely objecting, we were told by the staff member delivering the plates "it's because we're very busy and you ordered simple mains". At which point he left the plates and disappeared. A few minutes later we flagged down another staff member to order another drink, mentioning what had happened - she made the right noises but didn't actually seem to think it was an issue. Apart from delivering our drinks and clearing our plates that was the last we saw of anyone. No water until asked for. No dessert or coffee offered. On paying, no query as to whether we had enjoyed our meal/evening (the food was more than ok). The restaurant was at least 80% full at 7.15pm, but 40 minutes later it was down to about 25% - so the rush can't have been because they needed to turn our table.
Hope it was just an "off" night.
