Food was average, the carpet at our table was full of crumbs and a few chips too. First time we've visited and probably the last.

Come for a feed at the RSL, staff were good, seating was a bit outdated. The feed was massive crazy, seemed a bit of a waste couldn't eat it all. The ham on the beef Parma was a bit how you going gross.

Ripping off mothers on mothers day.
$42 set price for barely $20 meals.
This fat had some steak in it!
$20 soft drink jugs!

I bet they would sell their own grandmother for a profit

Bar stuff got my order wrong then blamed me, made me pay again for correct order. Second drink old man rude said "yes" rather than hello and quite rude. Meal average. No one to show you your seat no idea what's going on we found our own name On the table by walking around. Will never to again!!!!

Meals were excellent and service was prompt and friendly

This RSL is ace. The scotch fillet was cooked perfectly and tender (medium rare) and vegetables were cooked properly - not raw or over cooked. Best mushroom sauce I've had in a while. Definitely worth going there to eat.

Never again, drove 1 1/2 hrs for a booking of 15 people at 6:30pm, ordered just before 7pm with majority of the table getting fish&chips, 1 carbonara, 1 risotto, 1 steak and chips, and 4 kids getting spaghetti and a bowl of chips each.
45mins went past with only one plate of fish&chips served, not long after the kids got their meals and more fish&chips come out after 1hr of waiting.
I ordered a entree serve of carbonara that I received around 8:15pm "lucky I didn't get chicken added or it would've been another 30mins or more"...
Our table complained after 1hr of waiting on meals and was given 2 free drinks as a apology and said it would be out "very soon".
After the whole table had received their meals and finished them, we were still waiting on 1 risotto that just started being cooked around 8pm!!
We ended up getting it in a take away container and eating it on the way home as everyone else had already finished their meals and staff where beginning to pack up tables.

Food was very bland. And very disappointed in the service.

4 of us had an excellent lunch, good value, promptly served by pleasant staff. Tastefully fitted out dining area. Can't suggest any changes. Will be back. Phil Goodman

Ordered Small Appetites menu - chicken Maryland and Chicken Parmigiana with vegetables - unbelievable- plenty of vegetables cooked to perfection and a great size. Don't know what normal size portions are but there was heaps on our plate. Back again Monday for more of the same. Thank you Kath Campbell - TURA Beach NSW

Went for lunch and ordered " mustard chicken salad".
The salad was drowned in a Mayo based mustard sce. Cold chicken breast chunks, (warm chicken would've been nicer).
Very average, couldn't taste anything else except mayonnaise.

Had a Lamb Shank which tasted ok.

Is a very nice place, with a little kids' playground, the waiter is very friendly especially a lady called Rita but bared was cold and my meal with rice doesn't test much so that's why is not 5 stars.

I ordered the chicken schnitzel with mushroom sauce. I thought it was below average. Don't think I'll be going back. They have a playground with soundproof walls which is very handy.

Nice place for a meal garlic prawns were great. Staff were friendly and helpful. Roast of the day was great ??'?.2nd time had seafood tops

Good service but the food made both my friend and I sick. Do NOT order the battered flake.

So I had the chicken Kyiv, and it was absolutely awesome so tasty and full of garlic, just the way I like it! I have a guide dog because I am vision impaired and they were so welcoming and just super friendly. Couldn't have had a better experience so thank you very much!

Was looking forward to eating at the bistro today and ordered the chicken and mushroom lasagne which unfortunately was inedible. We were served a molten mess of tastless white sauce and overcooked lasagne sheets in a ramiken with undercooked roast vegetables and a pile of what I presumed was a mixture of left overs, no sign of chicken or mushrooms. Extremely disappointing, I would not recommend the Bairnsdale RSL bistro to anyone.

Every meal as good as the last. Excellent food and super friendly staff

1 hour and 15 minute wait for the meal.
Grilled fish, it had obviously been frozen, but when I got it, it was overcooked but cold.
Lesson learnt,never again.

The staff were wonderful when we explained that we were travellers having to rearrange our next arrangements, and needed WiFi access and somewhere to sit quietly with a coffee. A lovely atmosphere, people coming in during the day, sufficient staff (kind and generous), placed on the highway with ample parking.

Great meal the other night. Flathead fillets were very tasty and juicy. Crisp batter, crisp chips and nice dressing on salad. Dessert was crisp batter on beautifully cooked banana fritter. Yummy caramel sauce, ice cream and cream - nice to have both. Quick and friendly service.

Great customer service & friendly welcoming staff. Really enjoyable meals (pub fare) in generous servings for good prices.
It is relaxing & warm inside with updated interior & furnishings. Everything is kept very very clean with lots of sanitising happening constantly.
Lots of parking available, with spaces for people towing trailers or boats.
Play area for the kids with a chocolate bar machine, couch area to relax with a cuppa & a large bar with access on all sides.
Very enjoyable, definitely recommend.

Lots of disabled access the back door was closed.

It took a while for meal to be brought out (arrived at 1pm). People sitting at two tables already had their food and there was nobody after us. We ordered Bangers & Mash with Vegs and a small serving of Carbonara. Meal arrived at 1.45pm. Meals were good. Have been here before and had no issues.

Was there for a function and the food was good is just like home-made stuff. The staff didn't serve in order of tables and it was all higgledy-piggledy.
People I was sitting next to had theirs but I didn't. Overall it was a nice atmosphere and the food was nice, if not basic. But for an RSL it was good given it was a country town.
However it would make more sense to serve each table versus just random people.
One person on our table has a severe gluten allergy and was served food with gluten in it which was disappointing and the substitute wasn't really great. In fact they missed out on desert because there was no other option. Even though the person on our table had phoned ahead to make them aware of this allergy.
I had this not happened I probably would've given 4 to 5 stars

Too much focus on gambling as is the norm for RSL AND these days. The food is the standard menu set for the commercial pokies "pub(TM)". Was tasty and filling though.

Most RSLs are dependable for getting a good feed at reasonable prices, and the Bairnsdale RSL is no exception. The steak was cooked well, if a little overdone for my liking but the thin-ish porterhouse steak was tender enough. The fish & chips was also good. Drinks prices were as expected. Service came with smiles.

Great food and service .Friendly staff. Good special on food good prices. Clean and tidy.

My wife and I stopped here for lunch. The club looks fairly modern and is well laid out. There is plenty of off street parking. There is a fairly large dining area which has a bistro and bar. It is separated from the gaming area which has its own bar. We were there fairly late for lunch so were unable to have our first choice of meal (rissoles). So, we decided to try the Irish pork sausages. Each meal cost $12 and they were really tasty. We were there on a Thursday and each patron in the club received free tickets in 7 meat tray raffles. We were lucky enough to win one and it was one of the best meat trays we've seen. We enjoyed our time at this club and would recommend it for a meal and a drink.
