The Cecil is the place to go! Lovely food, drinks and service. Had the madman curry which is so good - highly recommend. Shoutout to Jimmy and Jas for the great service. I'll definitely be returning :)

I had a wonderful experience last week. The chef's pizza was delicious, with a perfect crust and fresh ingredients that really stood out. Additionally, the service was exceptional. I'd like to especially mention Be, a Brazilian server who was extremely friendly and attentive, making our visit even more enjoyable. I also want to commend Jazz for showing great professionalism. I will definitely return and highly recommend it to everyone

We had seniors meals, including calamari. The calamari was cooked to perfection, not rubbery. The chips were nice and crunchy on the outside. The service was great. We did find it a bit noisy, but for a first time, we couldn't fault The Cecil.

Not sure what the other two reviewers are on about with drug users and this place not being safe for children?

We visited this place with two young kids, had great pizzas and cold fresh Stone & Wood pints, all while being served by the wonderful staff member named Jay. We felt totally welcome and it has a family friendly atmosphere.

Will definitely return here next time we're in the area.

We are currently visiting from W.A and tonight we dined at the Cecil Hotel. We received a warm welcome from the staff.
The food was absolutely delicious and served well, and the customer service was just superb!
Great atmosphere, we were there with our children (14, 16 & 18 yrs) and they thoroughly enjoyed it also. Making it a great choice for families.
Would definitely recommend the Cecil Hotel for the food, service and great value as well. Thank you for a wonderful evening 😊

Excellent location. The G stops right out front, and the bus terminal is less than a minute's walk.
Had a cold VB for $7.70 while waiting for the bus. I wouldn't mind trying a meal next time.

Excellent pub on the corner, super close to the water for a walk, Australian Fair is close by.

The $15 pizza served every lunch is great value and very tasty.
Front bar is a well equipped set up for a punt and sports to watch.

Appears to have plenty of locals which gives a good feel.

The staff were super friendly and service was quick.

The cabonara is the best. Also the whole menu is fantastic.

Great place for a pint and a pizza. The crowd here is mostly older people though so be mindful of that. The average customer here is about 50 years old.

We were looking for a venue to have some food Wednesday evening. Luckily we stumbled on Cecil Hotel. Great food and atmosphere. Staff were wonderful to two old farts who don't usually frequent the Coast. Thanks guys.

Our family had dinner at the Cecil hotel, everything was excellent. If we lived in QLD we would become part of the furniture on the regular. Highly recommend.

Consistently great service and great food. It's a nice spot to sit and watch the world go by, or watch sport on the big screens.

The staff definitely make this place, but the food definitely seals the deal.

Not a good place for mobility impaired folks. There is a sign above the steep stairs down to the toilets advising to ask staff about the disabled toilet.

I asked 3 staff members about is and they just asked, "what disabled toilet?"

Eventually I found the manager who advised it is out back by the loading dock, but it is locked and they don't have the key.

Fantastic woodfired pizza and delicious rump steak cooked perfectly! Thank you for the warm welcome and great service/delightful staff, especially on a busy weekend. Will be returning next time!

Had lunch at the Cecil today, a roast which was dismal.
Potato and pumpkin look like yesterdays leftovers, peas shrivelled up.
And very average pork.
Pity because it's a great place to eat but need to make more effort.

Absolutely amazing experience , customer service was unmatchable was greeted with smiles from both Manager's Sa and Layla :) my food and my beverages were both served in quick time but also with awesome quality. Our family will definitely be back soon. 😁

Decent pub in the heart of Southport. No real complaints, my steak sandwich was tasty, service was friendly and fast.

Friendly welcome from the lady behind the bar, walked in to the sun drenched door on the corner main entrance. Spent a couple of hours there and thought I'd order lunch. Ordered crispy skin salmon medium rear more rear. Came back fully cooked, returned the meal and asked for medium rear or rear again, the salmon came back peeeerrrrfect. The staff are amazing and accommodating. Great place! 5 stars

Nice place to grab a pint and perhaps a bite. If you like food with some zest to it, then Gerrad makes a mean spicy pizza if you ask him nicely. Layla, the new manager makes pretty sweet cocktails too :)

Layla is a fantastic barmaid, Gerrad is an bartender and Kathryn is so lovely. Their service is above and beyond. Cannot wait to come back and receive such awesome service. Thank you for making my night so entertaining.

The Cecil is my closet pub and I am glad it is. Staff are always friendly and pleasant, food is very reasonably priced and delicious, the me&u system always works efficiently. One big call out to James, who is a star and cant do enough to help you and make you feel welcome, thanks James

Regularly come into the Cecil for a nice cold beer and a good feed, I am always welcomed with a smile by the amazing staff. Jacqueline, in particular, stands out the most with her excellent customer service.

Service was lovely -I had a great time being served by Gabriella, her smile and positive attitude was infectious. She had a intensive beverage knowledge and assisted me in a courteous manner.The meals was superb as well, I ordered steak and was cooked beautifully.

Specialists appointments lead us to Southport and after walking a few blocks to find some 'Aussie Food' we came across the Cecil Hotel. We were acknowledged by a lovely bar attendant as soon as we entered. Tried to order our meal at the bar and were surprisingly informed that we would receive table service and to please take a seat. Our waitress, was a young lady named Jess and she was just lovely, quiet but extremely capable and did everything possible to make our lunch enjoyable. She seemed a little nervous at first so we assumed new. Please thank her on our behalf, she made us feel very welcome and is an asset.
Clean and inviting, welcoming staff, great service and decent size meal portions.

Had my parents 50th at this Joint and what a wonderful experience. Food was great (they had to cook for 60 people), service was amazing and staff went out of their way to cater to us and even took extra care when providing to the children that were present. Much worth the visit and cant wait to go again. A MUST if in the area.

Can't fault them! Called up to ask when the kitchen closed, Dion and the cooks were happy to make us dinner still when they were getting ready to pack up. Quick service, quality pub meals and would definitely recommend! More places need service like this. Thanks so much guys!
