I could not rate this place higher. The bar staff were amazing. When they heard we had walked 30 mins from our accommodation. They told us about a free shuttle home. Food was delicious and good value. Everyone was super friendly and polite. We stopped on the way to Cairns and they were so kind we wanted to live here. Naz and Patty.

I recently celebrated my 21st birthday at Bargara Lakes Tavern, and the experience was outstanding. The team went above and beyond, allowing us to arrive early to set up and even bringing out my birthday cake. They managed the outdoor bar with efficiency and great service throughout the event. The platters they provided were absolutely delicious and were brought out at just the right times throughout the night. To top it off, they even ran the courtesy bus into town, which is beyond their usual service area. The staff were exceptionally polite and accommodating, making the whole experience smooth and enjoyable. I highly recommend Bargara Lakes Tavern for any event - their exceptional hospitality, attention to detail, and fantastic food truly made my celebration memorable.

Great service. These guys bent over backwards, accommodating our large group at short notice. When our elderly family were too cold outside, the staff again made it possible to swap our large group to the inside.

It was Members draw so it was quite busy so we sat outside
The meals were nice and tasty but they did miss one meal completely but it was rectified quickly

This is a great pub on the southern end of Bargara. For those who like have a bit of a punt, they have TAB (with a Sports Bar), KENO, and of course Pokies. I haven't dined there, but have told from friends that the food is good, and very reasonably priced. I can tell you that there is plenty of seating in their Bistro. With either air-conditioned inside, or undercover outside, and there are some tables on the lawn area. I do believe that they take bookings, (but check out their website just to be sure).

Family group9 of us .all food eaten.i did entrees calamari and ate all.the meals were big partner had crumbed steak said it was great. I saw hamburger ???" .It was big.staff behind bar very helpful and full of local knowledge. Courtesy bus took us two home.nothing to much trouble.delightful night .nice cold beer.thanks to tavern staff .keep up the great work.it was also trivia night not that we participated .

I just wanted to thank the staff at the Bargara Lakes Tavern for their amazing service last night. We had a rowing group of 50+ and they went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. The meals were HUGE and tasty , we couldn't recommend them highly enough! Thank you.

Lovely clean venue. Very nice meals. Good kids area tho could do with a bit of an update as the game consoles mostly don't work.

We have been coming here for over 10 years and there were 9 of us on Friday night. 3 of us ordered chicken parmi's and 1 dirty birdie, the chicken needed a steak knife to cut through it, it was terrible. So dissapointed 😞

Very decent tavern, food choices quite good unless your vegan, good range of drinks and good service. Food was pricey but very large meals, kinda too big though really. We went for trivia and had a wonderful time, will be back

Everyone loved their meal. The serving size was huge and so very tasty. Staff are amazing. Very reasonable prices.

Great food, we had pasta carbonara, which was the best I've ever eaten, reasonable price, and a large serving. The staff were friendly and helpful. They have a bottle shop with members specials, discounts off food and drinks, and supply free snacks, including chocolates in the pokies room for the players.

I was there for a birthday party on Friday, February 24. It was pre booked. We ordered platters of finger food for the party guest's at a reasonable price. The platters were excellent.
The service was great and we all had a great time.
The manager and bus driver even loaded the birthday boys presents into the bus and drove us home.

The Bargara Lakes Tavern was a lovely, clean, and spacious establishment with friendly staff. It was quite busy, and there was understandably a bit of a wait for our order. Unfortunately, the meals were largely a disappointment. Whilst being of a good quantity, the quality was very much lacking in the steak sandwiches and the crumbed steak with the gravy being almost as thin as water. On a good note, the steak that was accompanied with the salad and chips was perfectly cooked and very enjoyable, unfortunately the chips were barely edible and tasted as though they had been sitting for a good while.

We held our 50th wedding anniversary there on the 3rd of December. Could not wishes for better service from time of booking upto and including the event. Thankyou. The courtesy bus driver was brilliant also.

Decor: Modern, Up-market Tavern. Comfortable, but no upholstered chairs, no table clothes.
Service: Friendly, helpful and welcoming. Reasonably quick (16 minutes from ordering until food received).
Ambience: Pleasant place to be. Reasonably quiet, easy to carry on a conversation (but it was pretty empty)
Menu: Extensive pub menu - steak, pasta, pizza, parmigiana, burgers, etc. No trouble to find a meal you would like.
Food: Not great. My garlic prawns were tasteless and only warm, the garlic sauce was watery and lacked flavour. The rice varied from hard to soft and mushy (I suspect it had been sitting in the Bain Marie for some time and the top had dried out, whilst the bottom had continued to absorb moisture). My wife's Carbonara was also lacking in flavour and the sauce was thin (but at least it was streaming hot!) Serving size was large!
Prices: Weird ($32.98?), but reasonable.
Not highly recommended.

Bargara Lakes Tavern is a great place to go for dinner. My eye fillet was cooked to mouthwatering perfection - served with house salad and crunchy chips. The staff were really friendly. We went on Saturday night and it was packed so you should probably book ahead.

Great pub within walking distance of the Oceanfront caravan Park, lovely ambience, great meals, we had the Seafood Basket for $18.50 and it was great, we went on a Monday night and I was glad that I booked, it was very busy and there was a Trivia night on at 7pm. Highly recommend.

Sorry. But not a lot of good things can be said about our visit. Atmosphere was great. Could have been really good. We were in the outside section. No heaters, was really cold.
Ordered the 300g rib fillet. Was about 1cm thick and full of gristle. No way you can cook something that thin properly. For $38 I expected a LOT more. Other meals came out wrong, cooked wrong, sides wrong. And the chicken schnitzel was like cardboard.
Won't be going back there. Mcdonalds meals taste better. Don't waste your money. Sorry for the bad review. But you need to do better.

We were a party of 4, on a Saturday night. Main meals arrived in a timely manner, everyone enjoyed their meals. BUT the two husbands decided to order dessert. Nobody told us that we would have to wait until all main course meals were served to all patrons before they would serve the desserts. Only found this out later, after asking staff if they had forgotten our dessert order. It was a very long wait! The place was emptying of its patrons before we got the desserts. My husband thought he was lucky to get the last piece of mud cake, but it was old and dried out. A very disappointing overall experience.

We went for dinner again this last week and were so impressed with the change in dessert delivery - desserts are now coming out of the kitchen at a much quicker pace and we no longer have to wait for all the main meals to be served. Well done Bargara Lakes Taven for improved service.

My husband & I were requested by 'THE OWNER' to remove ourselves from the premises immediately without allowing us to drink our $19.50 beverages, because we were sitting outside with our 16 year old deaf & blind tiny dog. There was not a single sole outside, just us. Shame, because we had frequented there with our dog on our holiday the previous 3 days without any issues. We loved the place, food & friendly staff. But, because of the 'RUDE & UNKIND OWNER' & their unwillingness to compromise, we will never go back again.

Nice setting. Accommodated our dog and us in the garden area. Unfortunately, although the food was tasty it was cold and had to be reheated. Not a good habit in commercial kitchen. We were going to join as members but are rethinking our choices.

Food is fabulous and reasonably priced. Lovely location with a variety of eating areas and places to chill out with your friends. A courtesy bus will pick you up and drop you home so you can have those extra drinks.

Great place to go. Very much recommend it for everyone to try. There is a good selection of foods and drinks as well. You just have to be specific of what you order.

Can really see why this was voted pub of the year. After not having visited for a few years, it was a breath of fresh air to see what they had done to the place. It looks and feels great.
