We've been locals for over 10 years now but don't visit very often and every time we do the food seems to slip further and further downhill. Last night, after booking a table for 2, we were seated at a huge table for 16!! We ordered the garlic bread which came out soft and barely cooked, like it had been microwaved? I mentioned this to the guy who collected our plates and he said we needed to let the kitchen we wanted it crispy. Really?? We hardly touched it. Pork Schnitz was a bit tough to cut. Salad is literally a bunch of leaves. Crepes were disgusting, again probably microwaved.. and pre bought? I've been to a few private Veterans lunches and the food is always delicious! I'm not sure if they use private/outside chefs?? Hubby meets his mates every Sat for a few drinks and a bet, they used to order lunch, but now they go elsewhere for lunch first cos the food is so disappointing. We asked for a doggy bag for one of our meals that we couldn't finish, the guy clearing our table said he'd be back with it, but never returned, we told the other waitress who said he probably forgot and threw the meal out ?

Great food and atmosphere. Staff are helpful and friendly. Book dinner reservations as very popular and can be busy. Function room packages are affordable and menu options are accommodating for dietary requirements. Would book again!

I was having a bad day so decided to treat myself with lunch. Chris was concerned about the dishes, finally service me in the restaurant. He suggested me to sit at table 7 I had to run around to find someone to clean it, I put the mess one. Nye & Sharon were very professional at the bar. Even Julieanne help me use the member card.Thank you guys but disappointed in Chris 🤨

29/08/2024 . So disappointed with tonight's meal. Couldn't see the fish for the crumb, the garlic cheese bread was burnt and no flavour at all, go figure. The other meal of chicken schnitzel had no flavour and chips were hard and tasteless in both meals. We have always enjoyed the food but unfortunately not tonight. . Thank goodness we didn't bring friends along. Otherwise service and staff impeccable. Please rectify this as not a good look for visitors. Just another gripe 🙄 when the first post is going on at 6pm why are the kitchen staff still yelling orders amongst each other. So dis- respectful. Should be silenced full Stop.

But there is no complimental drinks for gaming Patron, which is a pity.
