Quite a surprise with the excellent fit out and gardens that surround
Bright the whole tribe down; 3, 2 & 1 year old as well as my wife
We all ate and rolled out with our bellies full
Food from 5pm was a very helpful thing for our little family
Enjoyed the special pumpkin soup, the fish and chips was a knock out especially with the Monday special
Pizza and onion rings were great with their texture and presentation.
Only thing was the atmosphere wasn't there, mind you it was a Monday and I had kids so not too much to compare.

Gardens host functions like weddings and similar celebrations which would be lovely to attend.

A big shout out to the staff as they are extremely well trained beings polite, considerate and efficient. A particular shout out to the gaming room staff who make every effort to service your needs. Special mention for Adam who makes that little extra effort..

Went there last Saturday 2nd of December for lunch. Waited for a couple of minutes to be seen too for a table. Waiters and service staff pretty average. Didn't feel welcomed at all. Asked when delivering our garlic bread if we wanted a side plate. Well of course. The table water was terrible. Not even filtered. Straight out of the tap. Would I hurry back. Not in this lifetime. Overall, pretty much below average to what I expected from the Tavern.

We had our wedding over the weekend at the beautiful Auchendarroch House. Michelle was so fantastic to work with and you can tell the team puts so much love and care into every detail of your special day. The food was amazing and we had so many compliments throughout the day of how beautiful it all was. 1000% recommend.

I generally like having some meat in my beef schnitzel.

Response to the owner's reply: I told the waiter collecting our plates. She said she will tell the chefs. As if they didn't know what sort of meals they ship. Anyway... I didn't waste time talking to someone higher up as I don't plan to have that experience again. I suppose staff passed it along. If not, bad communication and/or process on the floor is not my problem.

Also, asking a question in a reply to a review, where people don't have a direct way to give you the answer, is slightly annoying.

First time and was extremely impressed. Food was great. Atmosphere was also great. Didn't feel like we were jammed in. Had a quick walk around the beautiful garden.

A group of 14 attended for dinner at 8 pm..we were told the kitchen finishes at 8.30 pm sharp..I ordered an entrees..but it came out with the main course..unsatisfactory..at the same time we ordered dessert..that didnt arrive despite asking 4 separate staff members..i wont be back anytime soon

Very advrage would describe our experience. My partner ordered a chicken caesar salad for $29 the chicken tasted like it was deglazed with white wine and the salad was extremely dry thus all you could taste was the wine. There was no care put into the salad at all and it tasted as such, the egg was a cold slop, we barely ate quartet of it. we spoke to the waitress that collected our plates and she said she would pass it along to the chef. We waited for a while longer but there was no offer of money back or anything. Upon walking out we spoke to the manager who gave us some free cake which was appreciated. But by his attitude you could tell that he thought we were lying and trying to either cause trouble or get a free meal which was not the case. We just wanted a simple meal on a nice night. Yes we got free cake but that's not the point it's a salad and expensive at that.

Stopped here to view the property and gardens which were beautiful. Well maintained area that you're free to wander. Ample carparking nearby. Close to many facilities. Lots of greenery.

Usually great food with great service...sadly this time food was not the best. Meat dried out and tough. Diane sauce was not good at all. Flavours all wrong. But not their usual standard..

Went to the Oak & Iron for the first time tonight.

Friendly and engaging staff and great spaces for a meal.

We started with the Mezze Tasting board which turned out to be a great option.

Lots of options for a diverse group.

Good selection of wines and coffee was great too

Terrible experience... Spent the whole night trying to swat flys off our table and food in the dining room. The kitchen was full of flys. I spoke to management about it and I was advised that there was nothing they could do. Spent over $150 for an hour and a half of flys all over us. This place is run by pigs.

Went for the outdoor cinema with wife and son, via the gold pass. Overall a really good experience. Not sure if the kitchen was backed up for pizzas, but ours took longer than we expected to arrive. Bean bags chairs were good for all three of us.

Very accommodating for bringing your own picnic hampers and the like, and also had drink vans on site (as well as access to the main bar with gold pass).

Son loved it, we will definitely do again. This is a family affair, those without kids will have to watch for what's playing

I love this place for how lovely inside it is. The staff are generally very good. Unfortunately food is very hit and miss. I've never had an awful meal but have had quite a few mediocre ones.

We had our sons 21st here and I was absolutely blown away by how helpful and kind the staff were, in addition to all their communication and advice and ...well everything!! We had a great night and everything flowed so smoothly and that wouldn't have happened without the experience and professionalism of the amazing staff. I honestly can't truly express just how impressed I was with everything.

Attended the Oak & Iron Tavern for the first time for a birthday lunch on Saturday 20/08/22. This is a great bistro with a lovely outlook. Very generous serves so good value for money. I was very impressed that all meals for the 6 of us were all served at the same time so no-one left waiting for a meal. Staff were very friendly and very accommodating especially with my elderly Mum. I was also pleased to see that the layout of the venue was accommodating for wheelchair access as in enough space to allow access.

Love the venue. I'll be officiating a wedding there next weekend.. such a great place.. I imagine a photographers dream.

My family and I had a great morning tea on our way to Monarto Safari Park. The service was excellent, so was the food. Beautiful views all around.

I love this place, it has a garden worthwhile visiting. Coffee by a fireplace, so good.

Took our friends here for their first visit, they were as impressed as we've always been. Lovely cakes and warm, log fire powered ambiance, the perfect antidote for winter's bleak evenings.

Nothing like going out for a meal not far from home and not only having a fab meal but also revisiting fabulous staff who have been working at Auchendarroch House for years which make the dining experience even better! We had an amazing garlic and cheese pizza bread, salt n pepper squid and also garlic prawns which didn't skimp on the garlic.

The mussels were a treat, some of the best I've had, the risotto I was told by herself were cooked from scratch. Well done. The casual and comfortable dining area where you can have a conversation without yelling over the background noise. All in all a terrific place for a relaxed meal.

I remember my niece's wedding was a big event. A great venue. Folks dressed up and all was fancy, happy & wonderful . . . until the steaks came out. The moment we cut into it we realized. Dry, tough.

A excellent place to host a function or just go out for dinner! It has a great variety of meals, drinks and desserts that are delicious. It is of a higher price range than other restaurants in the area however it makes up for it in quality. Itu2019s deals with Wallis cinema are great and make for a great day out. It has an wonderful atmosphere and friendly staff and the surrounding gardens are beautiful. Would highly recommend to anyone.

Restaurant venue associated with the cinema complex in mt barker in the Adelaide hills. Friendly efficient service and the food came out fairly quickly after ordering. Menu selection was quite good, and prices were reasonable. Food was good size and tasty. Worth a try.

Nice comfortable venue for Sunday lunch, friendly staff and interesting menu. Majority of food ordered was delicious. Unfortunately the u201cWallis Waffleu201d, dessert wasnu2019t as delectable as itu2019s description. Other desserts from the cake dessert refrigerator were quite dry. The childrenu2019s menu was adequate
