The place is nice, service was lovely but unfortunately can't say the same about the food. I had sausages with mash and mash tasted like it was made out of powder, there were barely any frozen peas...sausages were ok but so very hot like microwaved. Hubby had a chicken burger and he said it was terrible, cold chicken and it was swimming in sauce even though he asked for a little sauce - he always does as he doesn't like sauces. Drinks were ok.

My husband and I went on a random Wednesday night, it was wonderful. Easy night dinner, service was wonderful lovely friendly. Food was great (not "week day" chef) it was that lovely weekend day busy - makes you feel like your not the only human on earth out during the week - so the atmosphere was lovely. All up great night. Simple easy and just really good.

Had a get together today here at The Shelter in The Story Bridge Hotel. Great prices and great service. Of course great food as well. Thoroughly enjoyed the catch up with great friends that made it a perfect afternoon.

Some very good service there at times and other times not. Good for gathering with colleagues and friends after work. Warm lighting and cozy seating indoors.

We dined at 1:30 on a cracking Saturday afternoon. We chose the beer garden for a relaxed experience. There were a few tables available downstairs and a few up on the mezzanine, which appealed to us.

The area had a sports bar feel and we were were comfortable and relaxed.

The menu and drinks range was broad and appealing. I had the wagyu steak, which came with excellent chips and a mountain of coleslaw that I couldn't finish. The steak was very tasty and perfectly cooked.

My beautiful wife had the arancini balls and these were excellent.

The food arrived very quickly and the staff were friendly and helpful.

There was something surreal about hearing the cars go over the bridge overhead. The pub had a wonderful historic feel.

This was a superb visit.

? Oysters - I'm generally not a fan of oysters but the ones served were fresh and enjoyable

? Salt & pepper calamari - While slighty stale, the flavors compensated generously. Would recommend!

?Chargrilled black Angus rump steak - Though it fell short of perfection with a tad dry texture, it still held its ground. While not the pinnacle of steak perfection, it was a commendable rendition nonetheless

The quality of the food that we consumed at the Story Bridge Hotel on a Monday night was very good. We had the Grilled Atlantic Salmon, Thai Chicken Salad and the Warm roasted Pumpkin & Beetroot Salad with Smoked Salmon. The variety of the meals were impressive and catered for most tastes. It is recommended to reserve a table.

So good to finally get to the Story Bridge Hotel after many trips to Brisbane.

And they weren't wrong. It was delicious. And huge. Also a great choice of cold froths on tap.

We had 20 people attend a birthday party, from booking (no credit card, no minimum spend) process with super easy and ready to go when arrived.

Kym looked after us and boy o boy is she an expert. Friendly, fun, super helpful especially as the day turned into night. Thank you for looking after us.

The drinks and food continued to flow as did the great service from the team. We couldn't ask for a better experience.

Amazing venue inside and out. The service was impeccable and the food was absolutely incredible. 10 out of 10 would recommend and will definately be back!

This place seems to have gone down hill a bit. Asked for extra relish for breakfast as for $25 I would have expected more than 1/2 a tsp full. The staff I encountered really didn't seem to want to be there. Pity, used to be so much better.

Had a wonderful meal of Guinness steak pie. Very tasty, perfect sized meal. Will definitely go back ?

It's OK. Somewhat you're paying for the location. The menu could do with a bit of a rev up periodically. They definitely put the service effort in & try hard to look after you. With such a range of clientele it would be a challenge so well done to them for doing it pretty well. More craft beers on tap required in my opinion.

Great place with a good atmosphere. Has a big screen for all you sporting needs and a good selection of craft beer and different wine. A good menu and recommend all steaks from the grill.

I am almost always disappointed when I order steak, but for the first time that I can remember, I actually got a GOOD STEAK HERE! Usually you pay way too much for something that's sinewy or over cooked (even though I ask for rare or medium rare), but the bachelor streak I had here was actually great.

The side salad was disappointing as there was only about 1 slice of watermelon radish in it. I'm sure lots of people wouldn't care about that, but I enjoy a salad with my steak.

The dessert was delicious too.

I went here during Australia Day and there was a whole party going on, with the main attraction being the cockroach races!! They are cool and fun, the entry didn't have a set price but you have to donate to get it. To buy a ticket to bet on a roach you'll need to pay $10 and hope your roach wins so you can get some of the prizes. Overall great experience and I hope I'll be back next year.

We went to the Story Bridge Hotel Tuesday night and the 3 meals we had were delicious. We had the lovely Daniel as our waiter and as busy as he was he still managed to have our meals come out with the tweaks we made to our orders. Had a great time, good menu and a expansive variety of beer and wine.

Very accommodating hotel for our group of 8 guys especially over magic round weekend when the place was packed all weekend. Lovely meals, cold beer and awesome espresso Martini's. Highly recommend this hotel

Great location. Went for lunch. If you're lucky you can get a street park right in front of SB hotel although it's meter paid parking cos you're more or less in the city. Indoor and outdoor seating. Nice menu. I ordered the Guiness Beef Pie and it was not good- for $20 or so incl chips n slaw. Maybe I'm bias cos I'm a Kiwi and if you don't know it yet, we make the best NZ pies in the world! ? Pastry was too soft, so thick and floury although I will go back 'cos the staff are very friendly and attentive and has good vibes so i def recommend. My daughter had chicken schnitzel which was very thin and dry or overcooked. Steak meals from around $40.

What a great place to go when you're staying around the area. It's very warm and welcoming and seriously has the nicest staff. The food is some of the best bang for your buck, even compared to out of City restaurants/pubs. Couldn't recommend any higher ?????

Entrees were a nice start. The squid & scallops weren't chewy, pork belly, duck pate, oyster Kilpatrick were also good - wish the portion sizes were a bit bigger though.

For mains, most of us got the Wagyu rump with mushroom sauce & the dish was accompanied with a good amount of sides - the chips & salad was probably the best combo. Chips was nicely seasoned. I feel like the Wagyu rump tasted better & was better value for money than their Wagyu flat iron - when you compare the two, the flat iron portion looked insufficient.

Most of the desserts were all good choices. Pana Cotta being the best, followed by passionfruit curd tart & then chocolate brownie. The icecream from the tart dish was probably best by a bit but at least none of icecream tasted artificial.

Affogato wasn't too impressive, the amount of icecream you receive (1 scoop) was about a third of the kid's icecream dessert (3 scoops)...

We had the dinner after the borders opened for almost a week. Very crowded inside & we were a little anxious that no staff wore masks. Finding parking was also a nightmare.

Hidden find. Big venue with different bars/dinning options. Friendly staff. Sunday lunch with the family - accommodating to babies/children with packs and high chairs available. Plenty to select from the menu. Very busy so book or be early ??'??

Went for a Christmas Party. Food was slow to be delivered. Would give 3 stars but gave an extra star for Hannah and Lily. Both quiet, unobtrusive and efficient looking after us. Really appreciated them

I went here today and perfect is an understatement. The atmosphere is fantastic, the service was amazing, and the food followed suit. My partner is lactose intolerant and 2 separate servers came over to let him know about his choices. Not only that, but the chef came over to double check on him. It was so kind and we felt very well taken care of. Also, this was the best corn and zucchini fritter I've ever had and a delicious fruity blast juice. Thank you for a memorable holiday experience!! You are all incredible!!

I went to the story bridge hotel with my girlfriends after lockdown ended and the service we received from Hannah was impeccable. Well presented, kind, respectful and thoughtful she made our night wonderful. You have an asset in her, she is a beautiful employee and made our night at your pub a breeze. Thank you!!

A famous public bar (pub) which is steeped in history. This fine example of a great pub delivered a gorgeous place for a quick drink and equally swift fries. Always a great combination for an enjoyable afternoon after a long walk. The team were very friendly and helpful in supporting a beautiful place. Very well worth a visit any time soon.

This pub is fantastic with great food you would expect from a top end restaurant. Different sections for each mood. Also our waitress Angela went above and beyond to give us exceptional service. Our new local, also pub quiz on a Tuesday is loads of fun with Al.

Just had what has to be the BEST pub grub ever! Sensational beef bacon and mushroom pie topped with caramelised onion, served with crispy fries and delicious coleslaw. Tuesday special at $18. $18! To die for. Bailey was our host, tuned me into an epic craft beer with a wee sample. Great service! Generous servings, gourmet food washed back with a delicious craft beer. Modern bistro setting, relaxed and warm vibe. Loved it.

Had a great meal. Bangers and mash and 200g eye fillet. Our waitress was Tessa and she was attentive, friendly and helpful. A real asset to the serving crew. Happy to be served by Tessa again.

Quality of food was excellent and service impeccable. Staff was alert at all times for our needs. Our steaks and oysters were melt in your mouth, really high quality. Only thing that needs improvement are steak knives, they were really blunt. Otherwise highly recommend!

Over the weekend we held our wedding ceremony and reception in the Martini Rooms of the hotel.
From the time of initial contact through until collecting our personal effects after the event, the hotel staff were outstanding on every level. From the owner Richard through to Robyn and Kayla in events and Dee who first showed us around, everyone was supportive and helpful, considerate to our requests and ideas for our big day.
The afternoon and night went off without any dramas - the room was as we planned and were promised, the staff on the day were available and friendly, happily engaging with our guests and the food was outstanding.
We would totally recommend the Story Bridge Hotel as an option for a wedding reception.

Been here a couple of times now and absolutely love the versatility and ambience of the place. Really well located with a good variety of food on the menu, great selection of drinks, staff are pretty cool, the place is always clean. Three different areas that I've discovered so far, the outdoor area, the more formal dining area and the relaxed Cafe style area. Something for everyone and every occasion. Still have to watch some sports on the big screen. Looking forward to that
