Had a 21st Birthday in the function rooms and were 110% happy. Good food, great service and staff couldn't have been more helpful. Highly recommend.

Although the outside tables were a bit grubby, it was okay. [I don\'t like it when I have to use the cleaning wipes I carry around to ensure the table we\'re going to eat at is clean]
We looked at the food menus and decided what we wanted but it seemed an age before someone came to even ask for our drinks order but we gave them the food order at the same time. Then, another long interval before the drinks arrived; just a flat white coffee and a pint of Guinness.
The Guinness was good but I was disappointed with the Mooloolaba prawn toast ... tasteless and greasy. The chicken wings were average.
Staff were very cool as in distant and didn\'t make us feel particularly welcome. Overall, wouldn\'t bother visiting again despite being a lovely, historic Queensland hotel in a great location.

A little pricey with the surcharge for pub holidays.
We ordered 2 steak Santa\'s, sat in the bar area .... maybe that\'s why we were not offered cutlery and had to go hunting for napkins and cutlery like a bin chicken coping a waft of thier favourite snack.
Drink ... well you can\'t go wrong with something out of a keg ..... no ice, no offer of lime, ok mate ...
Lunch delivered, here we go, mouldy tomato, and it takes skill to over cook a piece of bread. Meat tough ??'?. Pretty average if you are asking.
Haven\'t been here for a good 5 years and prob won\'t be back for another 5.

If you're looking for the perfect place to mark Anzac Day in Brisbane, look no further than this absolute icon. Serving Brisbane since 1886 and nestled beneath the majestic Story Bridge , the Story Bridge hotel has always been more than just a pub - and on Anzac Day 2025, it proved exactly why.

We were there from breakfast (Expresso martini's) through to the afternoon, and the vibe was nothing short of extraordinary. Warm, inclusive, buzzing with community spirit - it's the kind of atmosphere that reminds you why this place has been a Brisbane institution for generations, owned and run by the Deery family since 1967.

But the absolute pinnacle of the day? A soloist standing proud on the public bar to perform the Last Post - arguably the most emotionally evocative tune Australians know, and perhaps the only one that sees an entire crowd fall into spontaneous silence as it plays. Traditionally sounded at commemorative services to signify that the fallen have gone to their final rest, hearing it performed live by a soloist in that setting was genuinely spine-tingling. The entire hotel stopped. Not a word. Not a sound. Just unity and reverence.

And then - as only a great Aussie pub can do - the moment passed, the crowd came back together as one, and the celebration of this most special of days continued in the best possible spirit.
This is what Anzac Day is all about.

Occasionally I get a craving for a good pub meal, only to find out how badly the quality has gone down recently

Thankfully, it was not the case here - great value for money, generous portions, good flavors, and a lovely atmosphere and service

Reset outside with our pups and the staff has treated them so well, gave them water and spoiled them with treats!

We were so full by the end of it that they even got a good portion of our chicken :)
