The place is nice, service was lovely but unfortunately can't say the same about the food. I had sausages with mash and mash tasted like it was made out of powder, there were barely any frozen peas...sausages were ok but so very hot like microwaved. Hubby had a chicken burger and he said it was terrible, cold chicken and it was swimming in sauce even though he asked for a little sauce - he always does as he doesn't like sauces. Drinks were ok.

My husband and I went on a random Wednesday night, it was wonderful. Easy night dinner, service was wonderful lovely friendly. Food was great (not "week day" chef) it was that lovely weekend day busy - makes you feel like your not the only human on earth out during the week - so the atmosphere was lovely. All up great night. Simple easy and just really good.

Had a get together today here at The Shelter in The Story Bridge hotel. Great prices and great service. Of course great food as well. Thoroughly enjoyed the catch up with great friends that made it a perfect afternoon.

Some very good service there at times and other times not. Good for gathering with colleagues and friends after work. Warm lighting and cozy seating indoors.

We dined at 1:30 on a cracking Saturday afternoon. We chose the beer garden for a relaxed experience. There were a few tables available downstairs and a few up on the mezzanine, which appealed to us.

The area had a sports bar feel and we were were comfortable and relaxed.

The menu and drinks range was broad and appealing. I had the wagyu steak, which came with excellent chips and a mountain of coleslaw that I couldn't finish. The steak was very tasty and perfectly cooked.

My beautiful wife had the arancini balls and these were excellent.

The food arrived very quickly and the staff were friendly and helpful.

There was something surreal about hearing the cars go over the bridge overhead. The pub had a wonderful historic feel.

This was a superb visit.
