It is the second time we have had a meal here. The first time service and the food was good. This time, we had to wait more than 20 minutes to be seated in an empty dining room as there were only 2 other people there. Then we ordered our meal. Ordered the risotto with prawns and chilli. It had absolutely no flavour and no chilli. Even asking for chilli to add to it did not improve the meal. It was a very disappointing experience and the staff didn't seem to be too fussed about it when I mentioned it. Will not be returning.

Stopped on a trip from Sydney to Mildura. Clean, comfortable room with good facilities. Had a great dinner of rare rump steak with chips and salad, helped by an excellent glass of shiraz. I was tempted to have cheesecake as a dessert (naughty, but very nice!).
Excellent stopover, highly recommended.

Drinks service was good, waitress was polite and quick to order, staff attentive to further drinks. That's the good.

The bad... ordered the 300g Scotch fillet cooked rare. As the most expensive item on the menu as decent steaks usually are you would think some sort of care would be taken to ensure it is a good meal. Wrong

Steak was COLD, the plate it was served on was warmer than the actual steak. The steak was also quite chewy, not what I expect when cooked properly and served correctly. The potatoes were ok, the veg was flavourless as though it had sat for some time, warm to touch. Peppercorn sauce was flavoursome and thankfully it was warm as it made the food edible.

Had I not been so hungry I would have sent it back.

Very disappointed and would not recommend ordering steak.

Travelling through Wangaratta and stopped at this hotel for dinner.
The customer service staff were wonderful, welcoming, knowledgeable and happy.
Two members of our group ordered the steak and were very impressed with the quality of the meal.
I certainly would recommend this hotel to others. Thanks for a lovely experience

Clean, stylish, family friendly. Service is impeccable, friendly, fast to find you a table, take your drink and food orders. Food comes out quickly and everything is well presented. The food, however, is only reasonable. Steak was somewhat tough and it was only medium rare. Other meals for the rest of the family were smallish or just average.
