I just love these old hotels with their antiquated aura. The bed was fine. The frig worked well enough to cool the milk. Everything was lovely, but I think the person the night before used the bin as a toilet. Yes it's a walk to the toilets in shared facilities, but come on...that was just rude mate. Otherwise a beautiful hotel that is comfortable and clean except for said rubbish bin/toilet. Affordable on line but not walk in apparently. Magnificent hotel.

I stayed in a basic room with a shared bathroom. It was cheap, clean and in a great location.
If you're staying on a Saturday night and you're not there to party, take some earplugs.

Always so good and fresh/juicy steaks when we go. Staff are always lovely aswell. Great atmosphere!!

Came here on a Sunday evening with friends for dinner. They had a lovely menu, not too big (very good) and everything we ordered looked very nice. I ordered something small, the Bao Buns and happily surprised. Easy to eat with fingers, nice mango salsa and crunchy chicken thighs.

Apparently calling this place and booking through them themselves instead of online makes the price of a tiny room with a double bed $220 when it's $70 through a bookings website which I have now realised to late and staff say it's the owners way and they can't do anything about being charged an extra $150 for no reason at all. It was a Sunday we just wanted to stay somewhere for the night so no shops around the area were open with the time we arrived. Soft feeing wood floors with carpet over it and set of stairs slanted to where I nearly fell backwards on. Definitely learnt my lesson not to come here again if a business will over charge me for booking through them instead of online because the price they charged me compared to what it's worth is absurd and I'm very upset at the outcome.

They charge extra if you call in and don't disclose it (booking online is $70 for the same room). $220 for a small room, no private bathroom, and an uncomfortable bed. Staff claimed it was the owner's rules and nothing could be done about it. We wanted to eat downstairs, but the place was full and tables were reserved, which probably saved us from further disappointment.
There's wifi, but it's too poor of a connection to use.
On a side note, shops are closed on Sunday.
Would not recommend.

We have nothing but good things to say about the Criterion this hotel has it all wrapped up in a bow! We loved the bar and restaurant and our hotel room was just perfect with the best balcony and view of the Main Street and river. We will definitely stay here again!

Had the new lunch menu today and was delish, beers were cold. Sad we couldn't sit there all afternoon and had to go back to work. Good Work new management, keep up the great work.

Great location and great value. Manage to get a single room with just 60 dollars. But it has no air conditioning and the room I don't know why but it is like an oven. But it is cheap though.

The restroom and shower is shared. But there is a fridge and TV in the room.

The staff are really nice and friendly. Just stay for night but he is kind enough to tell me the landmark in Rockhampton.

You can just park your car there and basically a lot of places are in walking distance as it is located in the town.

Overall it is not a bad place to stay if you are looking for a cheap hotel.

The room was dirty, the aircon filter so clogged it would hardly work, the Tv was not on it's mount on the wall and there was no remote. The door out to the balcony had glass that was almost falling out. Then the showers were filthy and moldy. The last problem is not the hotels fault. but might make you think again about this hotel.....thousands of birds roost in the trees by the river and they sqwark all night.

Went for lunch. Wasn't very busy but still had a 45+ min wait for very underwhelming food, which then had to go back as it was missing items.

On the positive side, the bar man was friendly and the food was inexpensive. Though seem over priced to compensate.

Wouldn't bother returning.

This is a solid old pub with atmosphere and very decent food - located beautifully on the river.

Loving the zing of the buffalo wings The tender ribs were a future order in the making.. The best coleslaw I've ever tasted. We came for the $12 Parma but definitely will be back for the $15 steak night!

No microwave or toaster or any way to cook anything, lots of stairs from street car park, had to get water for kettle and water bottles from bathroom sink

This is one of the worst hotel experiences we've had so far travelling for 3 months. Really felt like a prison. There is no airconditioning and no acces to WiFi, even though there is WiFi available. Rooms are extremely hot and are not able to cool down, the fan makes a ton of noise so you either can't sleep because of the noise or you have to sleep in a sauna.

The heritage hotel is located across the road from zodiac night club, On quay street Rockhampton. Built here In 1898, Once called old Colonia hotel, It wasnt listed on the Queensland heritage register until 1992.

The heritage hotel has accommodation , bar with beer on tap, pokies and do a good well priced pub feed too.

On a recent date with my fiance we had dinner here. My fiance had the crumbed steak. She said the crumbed steak was good but the veggies were a little cold. I had myself the rump steak medium rare and was happy with how it was cooked. The feed hit the spot.

The service was good and friendly, Great chilled atmosphere, and nice spot to have a quiet dinner out for all.

We arrived late at night to spend the night and continue our travel.
Cheapeat accommodation we found in Rockhampton (only 65 for a twin room compared with other options which costed more than 110).
The shared toilets were pretty clean.
Also cheap meals - dinner for 33aud for two people. Nothing too special. But it saved us for preparing our tent late at night so I highly recommend it to spend a night if you need to sort things out quickly.

I went there tonight Friday 21st Oct.
I ordered seafood basket.
The menu says it comes with salad, but mine didn't come with it.
I double checked with one of staff but didn't get the salad.
They could have dished up a lot better.
It looked like they chucked the food on plate...

Stopped in for lunch. Very quiet. Staff were friendly and helpful. Meals were very good and well priced. Had the fish special cooked perfectly

Beautiful Room with a Balcony View. Food was bloody amazing (Had a Steak, Chips and Salad). Staff are great kids (In their 20's) and so friendly and inviting. Great Work getting things right at all angles. Brilliant!

Good feed friendly service good value for money

Wonderful service and a great place to unwind.

Small neat room. Clean bathroom facilities. For $50 a night you can't go wrong. Perfect place to rest in anticipation of a long day of driving.

Early evening on Anzac day. We were the only two patrons. The food was great. Delicious and generous. Calamari and beef burger. I would highly recommend. Such a lovely heritage building

We snagged a bargain bunk bed room with shared facilities but found the room & bathrooms to be clean & neat. Nice balcony area and overlooking the Fitzroy River was a good choice in Rocky. Really friendly staff and a good restaurant and would easily stay again ! Everything was great.

Great calamari meal. Husband's steak worst ever. Explained that the margarita drink did not have the correct ingredients and nothing was done. Really disappointed.

Reasonably priced meals. Reasonable food. Staff were kind. Very popular pub. Overall for a night out to dinner, great.
