Myself and my partner sought refuge from walking in the heat in search of a bar for a cold drink. I specifically asked the concierge if they have an "open bar". The woman who did not speak English very well then directed us outside to a bar on the street not connected to the Grand, which we had looked at before we went to the Grand and found was closed.
Concierges are supposed to be knowledgeable about the area and also understand a customers request. Seems like this concierge was only interested in being paid to take customers money at the desk and have no expertise. Frustrating when people are paid for not being able to do their job, especially for the most upscale establishment in the area.
