I stayed here 1 night. The room was OK and had everything you need. What i didn't need was the bed bugs! Couldn't sleep, because of the constant biting. This needs to be addressed. Otherwise the motel was OK, location good and the pub was good also.

Beautiful views and rooms. The food was amazing, definitely order everything off the menu! Also, the staff were super friendly and helpful.

Bonus, the pool(not heated) is open all year round, you just have to ask staff to unlock the door for you.

There were 2 people in the restaurant and still took over 40 mins. When I asked for tomato sauce instead of bbq on my pizza. I got a no sauce pizza. Some staff were great. The other 80% were very very hard to deal with. Such a bad time

I can't thank the staff enough who got us into an emergency room at 2am with late checkout. They were the kindest souls and helped every step of the way after a chaotic drive and cancelled plans.
The room was overall mostly clean, with HEAPS, of space, extremely affordable and my partner and I are still talking about the mattress. It was so comfortable we slept like babies.
I rarely leave reviews, but these guys were so kind to us and the sleep was so good, I couldn't not!

Came to the hotel for lunch, i had the rump steak it was good value for $20. I like my steak rare but it was a think cut so it was medium.
Next time ill try the eye fillet. The staff is friendly and welcoming .

Wifi did not work, reception did not help, bathroom dirty, bed very comfortable, bar staff good, food good.

My wife and I only went for dinner, paid $75 for m25mineals, waited 45min, (it was busy as), but in the end inquired how long and they had forgotten our order.
Gave us a complimentafy drink each but still waited another 15min, pretty poor I thought although food was delicious.

We unfortunately decided to have dinner in the bistro. The cook must have rang in sick and was replaced by the cleaner. The wife and I had the chicken schnitzel, the schnitzels were dry, hard and the crumbs were made from volcanic rock, I ended up taking them home and using them to replace two broken tiles on the roof. The salad was dry and uninviting with a severe lack of dressing. My son had salmon which was overcooked

Catering for a 40th was great, staff were friendly, drink service was easy & a great view as well. Bouncer was a knob, demanding to see I.D even though I had their wristband on & had been in the place all night. Other than that, it was tops.

Good range of beers on tap, food was top quality with excellent variety and not ridiculously priced either ðŸ'

Had dinner here and it didn't disappoint ,the service was fantastic and the meals were big ,filling and totally delicious, especially the sweet potato fries 🍟 😋

Paper thin walls and a bright, constantly blinking, strobe-like fire detector placed straight overhead the bed ruined our stay there. I finally was able to sleep by putting a towel over my head just to be woken up by pounding and other nearby noises. Cigarette smoke drifted into our room too. Too bad because the bed was otherwise comfortable, the room clean with a superb view. The manager offered to set up a morning taxi pickup to get us to the airport, but after ten minutes waiting out front we called a cab company ourselves. The other cab still hadn't come before ours came and got us.

Good location and great online price.
Easy and quick check-in. Ground floor room very quiet. Didn't hear any outside noise, only heard hallway noise. Comfortable bed.
Limited car parking spaces and fills up quickly. However, there are street parking just outside.

Easy walk within hotel to bistro. Friendly staff.
I had lamb shanks, large meal, meat fell off the bone, smooth mash potato no lumps. Thanks chef. I started to eat it before taking the photo, oops.. Husband had steak and Vegs standard meal.

Yeah i like this place overall good value for money, decent food and a variety of beer on tap.

I have been going back and forward to Gladstone for many years but don't know why I have waited this long to eat at the Reef. Woo Hoo! Me and my work colleagues ate there two nights in a row and would have been more if we weren't going home. I had two different Parmys' and both were delicious, huge and well made. I had the Hangover and the Dirty Birdie and now I am in a situation that when I go back I won't be able to pick between the two. Everyone else at the table was very happy with their meals and the staff at the bar and to the table were lovely, friendly and cheeky Queenslanders. Bring on the Reef!

Decent feed overall. Ribs were a tad chewy for their price, but tasted good.
They bought the main meal out only a few minutes after the entree, which meant it was going cold by the time I got onto it.
My glass of wine included the bottom of one bottle, which meant that last mouthful was a mouthful of dirt.

If I could give it zero stars I would, young bartender put my food on the same tables as my 2 mates, they ordered steak and fish, I ordered a burger, I waited 50 minutes they waited 15, the girl in the bistro served me a beer for free because of my troubles but I ordered at 7.20 and I saw when she checked on the order the young fella put mine on for 8.10, and the burger was served luke warm. I won't be back will be giving my money to the Grand Hotel or the Young Australian, both are less than a 10 minute walk away and very, very welcoming. Fire that bloke. I didn't ask for my food to be made nearly an hour later, absolutely ridiculous.

Absolute trash, my husband went to order food for our large group to which the girl kept asking after every meal ordered if he was sure and judging/ hesitating to take his order until he pulled out his cash to pay, then she started taking his order properly without hesitation. We ordered chicken wings which were bought out with very long feathers all over them, so my husband took it back to show them, they agreed to replace the meal but spoke loudly and joked about my husband. Which after this it totally ruined our evening. The rest of the meals were bland and unseasoned. Very disappointed and the bistro staff members were very unprofessional, I highly recommend you don't waste your time or money at this venue.

Had lunch with my daughter there, great food and friendly staff. It was her 18th and the staff to pleasure to ask for I'd a few times. Will definitely be there again...

Pretty bad when you can not get a pizza correct.
I ordered a pizza for dinner and it came out less than luke warm, twice.
No excuse as to why this happened.

I struggle with the chefs don't really even cook anymore.
Everything is bought in and heat up.
The ribs are bought in cooked and all they have to do is reheat and add sauce.
Lamb shanks the same.
What other meals are reheat and chuck on a plate.

I am very angry with the lack of interest from the staff with handing out cold food.

I chose a pizza thinking it wild be simple but obviously not.

It is sad when people leave hungry and disappointed that they cannot get a simple meal.

Please try harder

Overall good. I was a little disappointed I paid extra to have harbour views but it was just some roof tops and the garbage bin outside. Receptionist took my credit card when I checked in even though i had prepaid and upon checking out i was told they don't do that there so i was left a bit confused as to what had happened. Overall room was fine and the restaurant down stairs had good food

Accommodation - Very Convenient to Gladstone central, walking distance from town. Room was clean and comfortable and staff were very friendly and welcoming. Highly Recommend staying here as it's also very affordable.

Pub - Food was cooked to perfection and staff were friendly and welcoming. Great pub!

Great hotel in Gladstone. Cheap food and drinks. Comfortable rooms and a great price. Pokies also on site. Roof top pool as well. Part of a chain so worth joining as you get discounts in a number of places. Highly recommended if needing a stop before heading to Heron island

We stayed for 6 nights here. Balcony room was small but adequate .. apart from the leaking toilet which we had asked 4 times to be looked at but no one did. Had to turn off water to cistern at night. Cleaners did a good job. Reception staff are terrible. They informed us on arrival that I could fix up bill on our final day however proceeded to take money daily from my account. When questioned why this was happening I was rudely told it was company policy however nil paperwork to confirm this. I'm still awaiting a email for an itemised account. The door card continuously refused to work and had to be reset about 5 times. Thank goodness for the bar manager last night or I would of had to sleep in corridor. If the card doesn't work after bar hours you will be locked out of the hotel. I cannot fault the restaurant or bar staff .. they were super friendly and polite, food amazing good sized portions and tasty. So definitely call in there for a nice meal but if in Gladstone look for somewhere else to stay.

Had a quick stop over on rout up the coast for business and pleasure, and staff were terrific. Rooms were very large, clean and comfortable. Views excellent.
Food offerings for Bfast, lunch and dinner downstairs at the pub is very good.
Good value for money and location.
Definitely staff here again.
Thanks to the staff also for letting me get a good secure park for car and boat out back.

Total disappointment!
After having to wait over 45 minutes for starters, would expect an exceptional meal. Calamari was nice and well cooked but the buffalo chicken wings dry and overcooked!
Mains were also a let down! $37.00 steak meal provided a nicely cooked steak but was let down by a measly portion of chips and a lifeless AND tasteless salad. Oh, did I mention the cost of the THREE (3) fried eggs requested with the meal.....$11.00. Yup,at most I've ever only been charged $2.00 per egg.....but almost $.3.70 per egg?? Overpriced, seriously!
And the full rib rack? More like 1/2 a rack with a couple of extra ribs thrown in for good measure, vegetables haphazardly thrown on the plate with ornamental drips of sauce on the sides of the dish. Presentation is key folks!

Was a total waste of time and $$$

LOST OUR CUSTOM GLADSTONE REEF HOTEL!!

My mate and I have lunch here on a regular basis and normally the meals are generous and cooked well but of late has not been up to scratch. The salad is dismal and the chips you can count on your fingers. Last week my mate could find a half of a small tomato on his plate, my salad had nothing. Two weeks ago I had the chicken schnitzel and it was cooked perfectly, last week overcooked and unpalatable. Thinking we may have to find another place.

Great reception, rooms are fantastic, easy access to the bar and bistro. This place is in a really good spot. I have stayed in the reef more times than I can count and it's always the same.

Quite often stay at the Reef when staying in Gladstone, the restaurant food is great good comfortable rooms!

Two thumbs up services and foods are great. A must try hotel to all travellers.

After a horrible experience at The Central Hotel, we sulked up the road to Reef and our expectations were exceeded. The staff greeted us with big smiles, the gaming manager was lovely and we had a lovely date. Thank you very much!

Great food and cocktails. Everyone in our group was very happy. The young guy serving us was really lovely too.

Had an awesome meal here! The Duck spring rolls were great just needed more seasoning and the veg cooked a little more. Both steaks were cooked Med-Rare and melted in the mouth again just needed more seasoning before cooking. Draw back was the Idaho Potato. We each left about 1/2 the potato because it was just to dry the further you got into it and not enough of the sour cream and bacon to combat that a bit of butter would help and a bit more of the topping. We'll definitely be back for sure!

Stayed just one night, accommodation for a room with a queen bed for two people was basic but suitable given the price. Room was clean and modern, in the room I stayed the toilet was constantly running and would refill every few minutes but apart from that everything else was great. In a good location close to a lot of cafes which is convenient as well.

Comfortable but you're not allowed to close the bathroom door whilst showering as steam build up can set off the smoke alarms. If this happens, you will be charged $1000+. Makes it a little awkward if staying with friends!

Nevertheless, 4 stars as staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful.

Fantastic service and food, I couldn't be more thankful for Mike and the Team. Even with multiple birthdays, a wedding and the regular crowd they still made us feel special and looked after our gathering perfectly. My Mum will remember this birthday forever

Very good place to stay when you are on the road, they cater for all meals. Just a short stroll down to the East Shore Precinct.

Loved it, views at night fantastic. Food ok.. 2 bed unit was bggd ,+ well set putt on t the 3rd floor. Views over the harbour + watched the working boats.

Clean and well located. There was an odd notice on the bathroom door with instructions NOT to close the door, as that would set smoke alarm off. And guest responsible for fire attendance cost. Wouldn't it be easier to install a fan.

Stayed at the Gladstone Reef Hotel on my way back to the Gold Coast, the room was perfect, nice and clean, the bar was excellent and the food was great. Will definitely stay there again.
