Dev served us quickly and managed to get us a table despite everything seemingly being reserved already! Super good job!
Really good parmi with good quantity, fish and chips was amazing and the rib eye was super tender :)

It had a play area inside for the kids, very small.

fantastic well done to the chef we had the mosr beautiful chefs special which was glazed pan fried squid it was cooked so well and the sauce that accompanied this was amazing if I could give more stars I would.

The accommodation provided was very large and spacious! Great for a couple of friends or family. The bistro food was also delicious, the fish and chips was HUGE! Good drinks specials.

Food was lovely - I had the steak which was thick and cooked as I ordered, with thick cut crispy chips. My husband had the paella special which could have used more spice but the seafood was not overcooked. Staff were friendly and helpful. It was trivia night (Thursday) unfortunately we missed the start.

Went to the restaurant for a birthday lunch. Considering this is known as the schnitzel house, it was the smallest and most over cooked schnitzel. The solution was to give me a steak knife for my burnt snit. Unfortunately can't say I'll be returning.

We stayed 3 nights in February the staff were excellent the room overall was very spacious and clean the bathroom was very nicely renovated the only downside was the lack of space to put clothes but there is the room to put in a wardrobe or drawers. The food was good and well priced.

Stayed one night here and the room cost more than advertised which the staff couldn't explain however the room was fine and we were given two drink vouchers which the bar staff refused to accept so we couldn't use them and to top it off we were eating in the bistro but after ordering a beer in the bistro I was told to order and pay in the bar only to watch the bar staff take the glass into the bistro tap to get beer then return to the bar to give me the beer so I could return to bistro to drink the beer which not only we thought was madness but was also amusing to other bistro customers so all in all many thought it to be a silly way to operate however apart from the silliness the venue presented clean and tidy so I won't judge it on just one moment of poor service

Had no idea what I felt like to eat. Hailee suggested the fried rice. When asked if it was any good - she said it is the business! And it was! Thank you Hailee. Happy belly happy customer. Great service

Wow! Do not leave this area without getting a meal here. The place was packed, like so healthily and happy busy. Don't let that deter you though. The atmosphere was amazing, the noise was perfect and not to much, the children had a little playground area, the meals are absolutely sensational and all of the staff, from the bar to the chefs to the waiting staff never slipped with anything. The staff constantly made you feel nothing was to hard, noting was to much to ask and never stopped smiling and working. The amount of meals that came out of that kitchen to the tables was phenomenal, yet all piping hot, cooked to perfection and tasted beyond words. Actually sad this place isn't in the part of Adelaide 363kms from here that we are from!

Came here to eat and watch the Matildas !! Lovely T bone steak and mash!! Dessert too!! Large dining area. Will definitely come back again. I feel right at home in this Ozzie bistro/dining.

Good food and great service. Came for dinner and was recommended the special curry of the day. Liked the customer service given to us by the employee named Dev. Prices are moderate on the menu. I'll visit again.

My partner and I stumbled upon the Feddy on the first night of our road trip from Melbourne across SA. We couldn't be happier with our first meal of the trip.

Drinks and food were so reasonably priced without skimping on quality at all. Great selection of tap beers matched with hearty and delicious food.

Can't finish this review without commending the overall customer service experience we had. From the wait staff to the bar everyone was lovely and made us feel welcome. Made me wish Melbourne had more of the Mount Gambier hospitality we received at the Federal Hotel.

Great location, friendly staff and just an all round great pub. We rocked up on a Friday to stay in one of their rooms and we're happy to learn they have raffles on a Friday and happy hour with $6 beers! So we got stuck in, as you do, enjoyed some beers, had a delicious parmi for dinner and then only had to wander back upstairs to sleep it all off in the very comfy bed. The room was a good size and the bathroom was almost as big as the room itself.

Excellent accommodation and location. The added extras were amazing. Great food in the restaurant. Comfortable bedding and a clean bathroom. Worth staying here on a budget. Definitely recommend this hotel, accommodation and restaurant. Will come back again. Thanks for having us.

Had a great stay at the hotel. And an awesome dinner at the bistro on 11th of April!!! The service was excellent, thank you to the gentleman waiter who was super lovely and helpful. Our daughter loved the playground and the food was yummy! Would stay and eat here again.

Spent Valentines Day with my wife at the Federal Hotel. Staff are super friendly and helpful, the rooms are spotlessly clean and comfortable, and the meals are incredible. We ate in the bistro three nights in a row and not a bad thing to say about the food. The seafood is fresh and perfectly cooked. If you visit Mount Gambier make sure to visit the Federal Hotel.

Great place for a meal in Mt Gambier, highly recommend. We've come here everytime we've visited and will definitely return again.

I eat here a couple times a wk when in town for work. Meals are great and well priced. All staff are great and friendly. Angie, Manu and Connor all stand out, always welcoming and always up for a chat..not to mention a bit of banter. The new bar girl, Jenna, has slotted in just fine...like she's been here for years..friendly, smiley, accommodating.... PROFESSIONAL....a real asset to this business. We booked to stay for two nights in Mt Gambier. Lovely staff on arrival. Great explanation regarding all the services available. Then we were greeted by Jenna in thee restaurant what a delightful professional lady. We love the NC chain because of staff like Jenny. Nothing too much trouble. The Hotel still issues complementary services. Thank you Night Cap. This is our second stay but many meals had at the Devonport NC.

Some of the best cooked meat in the city! Especially the schnitzel! The servers were also incredibly friendly and helpful. (especially jenny)

Felt most welcomed at this venue by the smiling Jenna! What an asset she is to this pub and the community, I will definitely recommend friends and family to experience her great customer service whilst checking out your great venue.

I got a single bed room, and it was surprisingly good. Room had enough space, newly renovated. The bar staff was nice and welcoming, the food was good- not much to write home about. The vibe of the bar was fun, very small town-esque. Nightcap's web interface made it easier. OMG get the date pudding

My partner had schnitzel and was happy with it.
I had the pork belly and it was wonderful.
We will certainly visit again when next in town.

I ate the best steak I've ever had from a pub there tonight. And the service was nothing less than spectacular. Dylan was so lovely and helpful. Most definitely an asset to the establishment.

Fantastic meals. Every time so far have not had a bad meal. Would recommend for people to go there and try it out for themselves. You will not regret it. There were some very helpful staff and very friendly.

One night business trip and perfect location. Handy to have eaten at pub as arrived late. Basic but comfortable room and most important part - the bed! Comfortable and crisp!

Went here after 4 beams and was told by the person I was with that they won't serve me anymore alcohol, this was from young girl working behind the bar who hadn't talked to me just heard me cheering in the pokie room and refused service without investigating ...I think that' was very unfair as I was far from drunk... there is plenty of pubs and hotels in Mount Gambier ..I've really don't suggest to go to the Federal they're quite unfair best thing about them is Dan Murphy's is situated behind them

Absolutely amazing schnitzels! Great value for money. Great family environment even has a playground for the little ones. Won 500 on the pokes too!
