We both enjoyed a delicious bleu rump steak for lunch. Chips, salad and sauces were great as well. Ricky did an awesome job, cooking our steaks perfectly! The restaurant was packed and now we know why. Highly recommended for a very tasty steak!

Stopped in for a meal as we are travelling through Ayr. Very impressed with quality of meal, speed and friendly service from the staff. We will definitely drop in again. The crumbed steak special was a winner.

I can honestly say that this was the best fish (fish and chips) that I have had for as long as I can remember ! The Barra and the batter were perfect!

Very nice hotel, service by the manager and chef was outstanding in relation to what was gluten free and what was not.
Very clean, nice atmosphere, good gaming room.
Meals were plentiful and tasty.

The beer and wine was lovely.
We had the senior meal and dessert. The steak was lovely and perfectly cooked, the salad was fresh, but drowned in awful, sweet dressing. It is simple and cheap to make a dressing, and is best to put it at the side.
Dessert was sticky date pudding. The plain cake was dry, minus any hint of dates. A little topping was added, not sure what type, not date. Not a date pudding! It came with lovely ice cream and horrid, fake, frosty, dispenser type cream rubbish that tasted like soap. I suspect the cake had been frozen and microwaved.
The hotel will miss the lucrative seniors market if they don't serve nicer food. This lovely hotel should be packed! Gone are the days where customers will accept sloppy, stingy shortcuts. Just look at the overflowing eateries that make modern food. The counter display wasn't inviting, I thought the restaurant was closed.

Played Keno , pool and darts . Really friendly staff. Watching sports on big screen . Food looked good but can't comment as didn't have any. Toilets ok . Really enjoyed ourselves. Definitely go again . Pool was $3 .

Great pub. Very sporty with pool tables and dart boards. Loads of sports on TVs. Very welcoming bar staff. Food looked good. One point I have to make coming from the UK is that the bull on darts boards should be 5'2 from the ground. These were nearly 6 ft. Still had a great afternoon there.

WOW! It's definitely the place to be. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming. Food is well presented and a lot of variety to choose from. Great service from the staff, very friendly and helpful.

We held a birthday lunch at Coutts Tavern. Staff were lovely, even giving my 81yr old mum a big hug for her birthday. Table was decorated with balloons. Food service for 16 people was great. Staff brought out the cake (I brought in) and provided plates etc.

Just popped into the main bar on a Saturday lunch time. Ask the friendly lady if meals were available. Replied yes and handed me a menu. Well I had the rump with chips and Caesar salad (3 salads to pick from) along with mushroom sauce (several sauces to pick from). The steak was cooked perfect, and the flavour was 5 star. Along with the rest of the meal. Well worth stopping in for a meal. Well done to all involved. Cheers ??'?

Shout out to Stone the last few times we have been in Ayr she has done a great job with service and having a yarn.

This place sincerely deserves 5 stars, not only for the joy it brought us each weekend in Ayr and during the week for a drop off pint, but also for the lovely workers, especially Vance. Myself and my boyfriend would often drop in for a game of pool and a pint and get talking to Vance who is just a great human being and would always make sure to say hi whenever we was there. He's probably one of the only things we'll miss about Ayr (no offence to Ayr haha). I even got a free lovely cocktail once so happy days! If you are in Ayr please go to this place and to Vance, myself and Mack really enjoyed our time spent there and our conversations with you. If we're ever in Ayr again, we will definitely be back.

Great place it's the second time we have been and both times foods been great and staff has been amazing. Especially since we have a child as well. thoroughly enjoyed our chats to Vance who informed us about the Burdekin distillery which serves a sugar cane rum which we both enjoyed.
Certainly would recommend we will be back!

My husband and myself would to express what a great venue this establishment is. Service and food was exceptional and staff very helpful, friendly and courteous. We would like to mention one staff member in particular, James. This gentleman went above and beyond to deliver a wonderful service to his customers. He never stopped working the whole time we were there.

Relaxed environment, great food and friendly service. Went for lunch. Our table had lamb shank, fish & chips, pasta, steak sandwich, rump steak and chicken parmigiana. Everyone was impressed with their dish.

My husband and I had a coconut curry lamb shank, and it was the best we've every had. The atmosphere is great and the staff are very friendly. Would recommend!

Had a birthday lunch here yesterday with our family.
My partner & I both ordered a $14 seniors lunch.
I had the chicken snitzel, chips & salad. Very disappointing as the snitzel tasted and looked like a glued piece of chicken. Others in our party ordered the dearer snitzels $26 and they were real chicken snitzels. I understand that seniors meals are cheaper and smaller but the QUALITY of the meats should never be compromised.
My partner ordered the Bangers & mash and the sausages were thin & tough more like a hard choritzo, not the fat pork sausages normally served with bangers & mash. We took 2 sausages home for our dogs!
3 of us ladies went up to order cappuccinos and green tea to go with desserts for our group. We were told the cappuccino machine in the restaurant was broken.
We were directed to try the gaming room at back and no green tea and no cappuccinos available just the basic push button service station coffee.
Definitely won't be back.

Staff very nice, friendly and welcoming. The food was great and plenty of it. Great service and priced meals. It was a nice tavern. I would have given it 5 stars but I nearly didn't stay but lucky the problem was only in part of the pub, there was a foul smell. If they fix this problem it would be a one of the best taverns I've been to through out Australia. I will go back and hopefully they were just having a bad day.

Lovely friendly attentive staff. Wonderful meals, great proportions. Took home a doggy bag. We will be back.

After a long day of driving, a pub meal is really what you need. We ordered the lamb shanks, and the ribs n rump. They were juicy, full of flavor, and very generous portions. A cold beer to wash it down was the cherry on top. Highly recommend.

Wow what great food. Barramundi, garlic prawns, great salad plus chips. Most impressed, compliments to the chef. Friendly staff and very clean .

Large old fashioned pub. Kids play-room is a bonus. Huge bistro and a decent range of lunch and dinner specials. Huge bar for a refreshing cold drink. Easy parking.

Beautiful food and lovely staff. We had a beautiful impromptu meal here. Felt bad because we showed up about 10 minutes before kitchen close but they were very nice. The bar area did smell very strongly of stale ale. But in the restraunt area at the back you couldn't smell it.
