Play Pokies at Boardwalk Tavern in Hope Island

We were group of 8 went there for dinner. Our waiter, Jules, was extremely friendly and welcoming. We all had a great time there. The food was great with nice presentations. And the coffee was excellent too (even Decaf!) We also had desserts there. Overall we were impressed by the quality of the food and the whole experience. We will be back again.

We both had the seafood pie and it didn't disappoint. Firstly, when it came out it was much larger than I thought it would be. It was delicious and chock full of seafood and some vegetables with a nice pastry top. The chips were well cooked and very crispy. Well worth the drive. Well the food was so good we went back the next night and I had the fish and chips! Good serving and again nice crispy chips. The fish was well cooked and it came with a nice salad.

It's a tavern so it's not 5 star. I had the seafood pie with chips and my friend, the Guinness and beef pie with mash. Unfortunately, my pie had a fish bone as well as the piece that holds the scallop to the shell and the other big minus for us was, they want payment on order but don't take cash when there is table service.

The food here was really nice. We're talking pub grub, and for that style of food it was 5 stars. Chicken and Leek pie (special for upcoming St Paddy's day) was really flavoursome, whilst the Nachos was also yummo. Both were good size portions for round the $25 mark each. Pop in for something to eat if you're in the area. Staff were friendly too.

Great food, excellent service, wonderful location. A real hidden gem, not what I was expecting to find at the other end of the car park. There were three of us and we really enjoyed our lunches.
The oysters deserve a special mention as they were excellent.
There is also a dedicated parking area for Tavern visitors that we didn\'t know about until we were walking in the door.
