Fabulous! We found this little gem whilst on holidays. So good to have two kids areas and free meals on Mondays for kids. Very well priced and the meals were a great size for the price. Staff were lovely. We even returned the next day for lunch. Highly recommended.

We had a Hawaiian pizza and it was very tasty and good size, in fact we split it amongst the two of us, and it was plenty.
We had full table service, and the staff were very friendly and attentive.
While our split meal worked out very reasonable on price, I did think the pricing on the main meal dishes and the drinks, were a bit on the high side compared to other similar places on the Gold Coast.
Overall if we are in the area again, we will be back.

I pop in to the hope Island Tavern on an a regular basis. Food is ok for the price, however drinks are getting quite expensive. I have noticed lately that there are often skeleton staff on and it can take a while to get served. I feel the atmosphere has plummeted since entertainment is now limited. Shout out to Barman Mitch who always does his best in serving customers in a timely manner, and is always smiling and happy to see you.

My mates and I are currently staying here in Hope Island and we decided to go to the local tavern. As soon as we walked in a lovely gentlemen greeted us and suggested to download an app to get money off our meals. He was amazing at his job and talked to all of us so genuinely. The waitress was also so lovely. Highly recommend this place. Food was delicious. Overall a great place to have a nice meal, drinks, and a slap with friends.

The Hope Island Tavern has an exciting and busy atmosphere. The staff are friendly and seem to work hard. The meals are very filling and delicious.

We've eaten here a few times now and have been really impressed each time.
In particular, the service was extremely attentive. Olivia really looked after us and all the staff were great.
We had the lamb shank special, which came with mash and vegetables and garlic bread. I was able to swap the mash for chips and it was really nice.

Mark from Hope Island Tavern would have to be one of the best Venue Managers I have ever had the pleasure of dealing with. My family and I booked out the whole venue for 6 hours to host a huge event and Mark and the team went over and above with there service!!!
THANK YOU MARK and the team....... We will now be holding all future events with them!!!

The waitress was extremely polite and helpful. She suggested my Boyfriend try the Grilled Salmon and he loved it. I had the eye fillet because that is what I love. We both thought the Cheesy Garlic Bread was delicious. The bistro has a pleasant ambience and is just really well presented. Could not fault anything.

A pub atmosphere, pub service.. but food and menu slightly different. Sure, you can get the traditional pub food but there's a few extras not normally seen on pub menus. Enjoyed the seafood chowder, tasty with good portion of tasty seafood. Steaks looked great, so did the burgers.

My husband and I had lunch there today with our 2 young kids. Service was prompt and friendly and the food was on par with other taverns we have visited. The chips were cooked and seasoned to perfection and the serving of garlic bread was generous. Our kids had fun in the playground and didn't want to leave! Next time we're visiting the area, we'll come back in for another relaxing lunch.

We had lunch there Friday 31/3/23. Not too crowded, not noisy and the service and food were great!!! At $15 for a seniors meal, the grilled barra and the calamari were great choices with generous serves. Thanks HIT, very nice.

Started off at the Sports Bar, one drink, bit noisy went outside nice pleasant atmosphere. Tables clean neat tidy. One toilet available disability friendly. Entry to main area again wheelchair acessible. Booked in advance. seated quickly, menus on table with table service. Bit of a wait till main wait staff were present then no issue. Orders taken, food delivered in great time. Saw some bad reviews, didnt pay any attention, we shared a pizza some chips garlic bread and a very nice garlic sauce. VFM. They do take away boxes too . Pay at the end at counter, quick and easy. Atmosphere family friendly, tables clean neat tidy and service was good. Food quality was just fine. Glad I didnt listen to some of the other reviews I saw. Each to their own. Good pub grub.

Went there last night just my husband and I for a nice dinner for our 26 years wedding anniversary. We actually went there not expecting too much really as we had been to runaway bay tavern a few years earlier and was very disappointed. But hope island tavern was amazing. The food was absolutely incredible and delicious and the service and staff were so friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend this place especially for food and customer service. Well done guys. Keep up the great work.

I have been here on a few occasions and really enjoyed the food and service every time. The parmi and fish & chips were delicious 😋 Portions are super generous too, you will definitely leave feeling satisfied. The staff seem happy and the manager is excellent ??'?🏼

Not just by the side but it was surprisingly good. Salads are usually hit and miss at pubs but I was impressed.

Nice pub, great steak sandwich and super friendly staff. Service was great and not a long wait for food.
They also have a pool table, kind of a dying artifact at pubs these days, everyone lives a game of pool.

This is a really great tavern for a Sunday session on the north end of the Gold Coast. The bar is situated waterside with plenty of car parking available. The venue has a beautiful sunset and plenty of seating available. The food is really amazing and affordably priced. Ideal for groups, families or couples wanting a classy waterside bar for drinks or food. Highly recommended.

Great play area for the kids, even gave them pencil cases and colouring sheets, reasonably priced food and very generous servings! The ribs are fall of the bone ribs and the southern fried chicken burger is a huge portion for the price! Friendly and relatively fast service. We will definitely return.

We really enjoy going here with our kids who love the playground. It allows us to have a nice meal and the kids can play. I always get the schnitzel and it is wonderful. My only recommendation is to throw out the nasty furry bench in the kids room please!!!

Dinner last night was amazing! The entree Calamari was tender and cooked perfectly. We had steak, a steak sandwich and desserts afterwards. Absolutely no complaints at all! The staff constantly checked on us to make sure everything was good, and cleared out table immediately as we finished our food. Congratulations Hope Island Tavern. We are new locals and will definitely be back.

The two staff on today were quiet busy but still maintained top customer service, lunch was great recommend the steak sandwich.

A group of us booked in for Christmas Lunch when booking through their Melbourne office there was a lot of mixed messages when we tried to add extra people it would be better if they let the individual venues manager their own booking. Today everthing was perfect the service, the food was excellent and plenty of it. Well done we will be back. Thank you to the staff for a wonderful meal.

The tavern is a great place to enjoy relaxing but when a staff member is rude and pretentious it can ruin your outing especially when they will not accept a government certified Covid vaccination Pdf download as proof of compliance with current regulations that are in place. The attitude that the staff member at the front door had was completely unacceptable and downright rude in dealing with this situation. Just remember one obtuse staff member can have a reflection on all the other workers. Customer service in any environment should always be handled in a professional manner and if one can not do that they are definitely not suitable in such a position.

We're locals to the area and have been here a number of times. Our waitress who greeted us and sat us down was really really lovely, very friendly. Not sure if she's new but she had a really positive demeanour and was very helpful. We had kids meals which are always good value, and two different steaks - both were cooked great. Of all the visits we've had, this was probably the best one - 30/10/21 visit at 5:30pm

Our group of 13 went there for a 19th birthday balloons cake the works. 6 adults, six 18 year olds and the birthday Girl one of her friends did not have ID and she was asked to leave we spoke with the staff at length even though adults would have stood up for her as a guardian as required by law but apparently an in-house decision by management would not allow it. It took over an hour to resolve finally she was allowed to stay. We had planned to have a fantastic dinner there. We were left feeling so unwelcome and with an hour wasted we decided to leave going to the Boardwalk Tavern also in Hope Island only 8 minutes away and had a fantastic night, thank you Boardwalk Tavern, ended up being a great night.

I would not recommend running an event here. The management we most unhelpful to our very simple requests. In the end we relocated or event to the Boardwalk Tavern who were most happy to accommodate. Another local lost ...

Nice pub meals really enjoyed them, except I had the rump medium well, big mistake on my part should have got medium. Wife had eye fillet and son had chicken schnitzel and sons fiancee had a pizza. The pub is clean and atmosphere is friendly and staff are on the ball, could not really fault it.

Our experience at Hope Island Tavern was unfortunately a mix of good and not so good.

The good: The lovely lady in the games room, I think she said her name was Rosy? She was an absolute delight! So warm and friendly and so helpful! She always had a smile on her face and was so approachable. Such a breath of fresh air. Unlike some of your other employees.

I came to this pub when it first opened in 2010. Had no character, now its an enjoyable place to go, great food, plenty of chill out spots or lively, whichever you choose. Recommend Highly.

Casual dining. Imbetween cafe and pub dining. Menu has improved. Had the beef and Guinness pie. One of the best I have had. Need to book though. Getting popular so must be doing something right.

We had a wonderful Christmas buffet lunch here with our family yesterday. A reasonable variety and selection of cold and hot dishes were ample, fresh and delish, and deserts topped off the lunch perfectly. Staff were all really lovely, friendly and service was exceptional. A good atmosphere in the restaurant. It was clean and tidy, with subtle lighting. The staff are very courteous and quick to serve. The food was very nice and the prices were fair. We will be back.

Went to Trivia last night.... I called last week to make a booking for 6 and asked if we were could eat a meal while playing trivia. Yes, we were told. When we arrived last night, they didn't have our booking and it took two staff members at least 5 minutes to tell me to sit anywhere that doesn't have a reserved sign on it, not making eye contact with me at all. We all ordered our meals and when the buzzer went off, we went to the bar only to be told "up there" with the staff member again not making eye contact and pointed her hand in the direction of where to go. There were 3 staff that we had dealing with last night and only one of them smiled, I didn't catch her name but she had dark long hair, she was very friendly and obviously liked her job way more than the other two girls as they looked like they didn't want to be there. The meals were delicious, so big shout out to the kitchen. Thank you. Trivia wasnt that great; I know it was the first night and there are always teething problems. It was hard to hear and it didn't really flow. Will we go back? Probably not!
