Recently, passed by the Labor club and dropped in. It was a slow, Saturday afternoon with few people around. Chose two lunch specials - bangers and mash for Mrs and so called rump steak for me. We don't expect gourmet cuisine for these prices but what we did get was the worst pub lunch in our memories.

The 'bangers' and mash proved to be a lump of solid mashed potato with a single, sorry, dried up banger 'butterfly' cut in two halves, seemingly to take up space.

I ordered rare steak, but cooking made no difference to this strange cut which was almost half gristle. With a couple of very sorry looking chips to keep it company. Of course, no salad or veg with either.

Serving staff could see the problem and were sympathetic. The vibe from the Chef/Cook was that it was only the lunch special.

Disappointed a couple of times here before - dining has become too hit and miss. Like others who have commented, we are still happy just to drop in for a drink - always good reception service, bar service and facilities - but eating is now 'off our menu'.

In view of some other recent reviews, management should step up.

Sorry to have to comment like this.

We've been coming to this local labour club for nearly 11 years, and it's been a regular spot for our family. The setting is genuinely lovely - great outlook, plenty of space, and the kids always enjoy themselves, which has kept us coming back.

Unfortunately, the food has steadily gone downhill over the years, and tonight was the tipping point for us.

To be honest, the last few visits have already been disappointing, but I've held back from writing a review, hoping things might improve. Instead, it's just continued to get worse. The menus themselves are looking tired and worn, which unfortunately reflects the overall food experience.

Tonight, after seeing the specials board, we were actually excited to give it another go - both my husband and I were hopeful. Sadly, the meals came out genuinely unpleasant. The kids barely touched their pizza and fish nuggets, which says a lot - they'll usually eat anything like that. Everything lacked flavour and felt like very low-quality, frozen food.

The salads are also consistently overdressed to the point they're drowning in pre-made dressing, making them almost inedible. It's honestly pretty off-putting.

It's a real shame because this place has so much going for it. We'd still happily come back for a drink and to enjoy the atmosphere, but we won't be staying for dinner anymore. We'd rather go elsewhere for takeaway afterwards.

Friendly staff but food is of a low standard. Dry overcooked chips, uncooked vegies and flavourless dished, some of he worst club food I have had in Canberra.

Such a clean and cozy place for having a good time with your family, friends and colleagues. It has an ATM inside, and a spacious parking space.

While I understand how busy this club was with Christmas lunches paying for a meal that is basically bagged rocket, greasy semi dried tomatoes from a jar, some cheap salad dressing and two barely cooked slabs of halloumi. Also the menu does not cater well for dietary requirements leaving people who have them feeling excluded from simple meals like a burger. Expensive waste of money unfortunately
