Went to have dinner here after a few years and what a difference! The service was amazing even though it was busy night. The renovations made it so much more comfortable and felt warming. The new menu just topped off a great night! I had the rib-eye steak, absolutely done to perfection with the prawn toppers and my partner had the pan fried barramundi. Faultless! Will be back, what a gem of a place now shining brightly in our backyard!

I've been to the Royal hotel Ferntree Gully several times now, and every single visit has been spot on. It's honestly become one of my favourite places to grab a meal or a drink because they consistently get the basics right, great food, excellent service, and a relaxed, genuine atmosphere.

The meals are always impressive. I've never had a bad dish here, everything comes out fresh, full of flavour, and in proper generous portions. You can tell the kitchen takes pride in what they do. Whether I've ordered a parma, steak, or one of their specials, it's been cooked perfectly every time.

The staff make a massive difference too. They're friendly, quick, and actually seem to enjoy what they do, which creates a really positive vibe around the whole venue. They check in without hovering, the drinks come out fast, and nothing ever feels like a hassle.

The place itself is clean, comfortable, and welcoming, the kind of pub you can settle into for a long lunch, a family meal, or just a casual drink and feel right at home.

From my own experience, the Royal hotel Ferntree Gully is one of the best-run venues around. They've nailed the mix of good food, good people, and good atmosphere. Couldn't recommend it more highly.

Three of us today. Staff are lovely. Service is quick. hotel looks great BUT the food. Very average. Snapper for 2 of us, very small serving for Seniors. One of us got a pouring of dressing over the salad. The other one no dressing at all. One of us still had the tail of the fish on. The chips have their skins on and actually had darks bits left in them. Not appetitising sorry. The 3 of us agreed it was just average. Maybe get a new chef. We did enjoy the sweets.

Being one of the locals coming for nine years, loved the new renovations.

And the new menus were exciting ; However after the many weeks we've honestly become a little board with the choices.
Lots of fried chicken, pork belly and brussels ect.Lovely but need more varietie now.
Gravy and extra touches terrific.
Side salad on most dishes ,sorry you'll need strong horse teeth to get through the greens!
Apart from that, quality of the food is excellent.

The Royal hotel Ferntree Gully bistro is a great spot for dining. The atmosphere is welcoming and comfortable, and the staff are always friendly and attentive. Service was quick, and everything from ordering to dessert ran smoothly.
The menu has a good variety, with something for everyone. Meals were generous in size, fresh, and full of flavour. You can really tell care is put into both the presentation and quality.
It's also very family-friendly, with plenty of space and a relaxed vibe. Overall, a fantastic place for a casual lunch, family dinner, or catch-up with friends. Highly recommend!
