We recently stayed at Tall Timbers on our vacation and can not fault this establishment
From check-in to check out. We stay in a lot of motels and hotels the staff were friendly and very professional. The accommodation is outstanding, we had the spa suite.
We had dinner and breakfast in the bistro the food standards are outstanding and being in the hospitality industry again can not fault. Its easy to see why they acquire so many rewards would highly recommend this place on your next stay.

We stayed in the free camping area but enjoyed dinner at the restaurant 2 out of our 2 nights. Both times we were so happy.
The grounds are stunning, indoor pool for guests, tennis courts, and perfectly located to town but next to acerage so you feel like you are out in nature.

This accommodation has great facilities for families, such as the heated pool, a gym and a tennis court. There is also plenty of open space for kids to run around and free camp for caravans.
However, the room itself was dated. The TV did not have smart features and the lighting in the room was quite dim and the globes come in different tones.

Tall Timbers is such an amazing place to stay, the staff are friendly, warm and welcoming. The main building is glorious in it's celebration of NW Tasmania's timber heritage, with a cozy yet grand atmosphere, and a huge fireplace to warm up to in the main bar. The rooms are clean, comfy, spacious and quiet, and the location is ideal for travellers both tourist and business alike. Set in the heartlands of the far NW, it's the perfect spot to head out exploring, after a hearty, delicious breakfast from the bistro, to see Tassie's natural wonders and other favourite past time - cows and sheep - before returning for a cold beer or hot tea, and devour some of the incredibly delicious (and very reasonably priced) tucker on offer from the sports bar and grill. Always a go-to on my list of places to stay :) I'll be back many, many times!!

A very large establishment with plenty of rooms and a great restaurant and sports bar.
Tall timbers have a variety of rooms, I stayed in a more motel style room. If you need something a bit larger, they also have apartment style accommodation.
The room I stayed in was large, plenty of room for me to pace around. The room felt a little dated, but was very clean. I always inspect the bedding due to one bad experience and am happy to report the bedding was spotless.
The bathroom felt a little cramped due to the door blocking the shower when you have it opened.
The staff were excellent at talk timbers. Very polite and happy to look after all visitors.
Overall, Tall timbers is a great establishment and I would stay here again when I'm in the area.

Stopped in for a quick counter meal, ordered and ate in the bar. Scallops were great and the chicken dish was pretty good also. Wasn't real impressed when I asked for $20 cash out to chuck a keno ticket on only to be told I had to go around to the bottle shop because they had no cash in the till. (Friday arvo about 1:30pm) apart from that, not bad at all!

Took the kids for a couple of nights away during the school holidays and ended up staying an extra night. The Lakeside Accommodation was excellent, the room was clean and well maintained.
The food at the restraunt was amazing, albeit a little pricey for a family outing.
Thouroughly enjoyed our stay.

Simply exceptional.
Every little thing and detail has been thought of, it was a most enjoyable and peaceful stay.
Arriving to my room with the heating and lighting on was nice. It can be contentious but the electric blankets were very welcome as well.

I've never seen my room cleaned to such a high standard mid-stay at any hotel I've stayed at around the world ever.

The bathroom has been renovated and is modern. The room has a very 1980s vibe, but it has been well looked after and doesn't feel old in any way.
My suggestion would be USB sockets or more powerpoints for charging devices on the bedside table. I had no mobile reception, the wi-fi was slow but much appreciated.

There's plenty of facilities for food and entertainment on site, and I enjoyed simply walking around the beautiful grounds

Roomy and comfortable suite in a good location to explore the north west.

The restaurant did good food and was nice to have as a backup option in a part of Tasmania that isn't heavily populated, though the food there was definitely good enough to be a primary dinner option on its own merits.

The rooms and facilities and service are great, however the food at the restaurant was not good. I had 2 entrees and both were inedible. Seems like they are trying to be too fancy and it looks pretty but they need to work on the taste. This is the 1st time I've ever written a negative review on a restaurant but it's important to know so hopefully they can improve.

Our 2 bedroom villa was fabulous, with a beautiful view of the duck pond, large comfortable bedrooms, and living space, and a washing machine and dryer in our room which is perfect if you're travelling around Tassie for a couple of weeks and need to clean your clothes.

The staff were warm, welcoming, and very accommodating, with Alison at reception from the moment we checked in, Meg from marketing who personally packed and delivered bags of duck feed to our door for our mum to feed the ducks from our villa deck, Emma who delivered our breakfast, and Peter in maintenance who was quick to respond and reset a blown fuse. We couldn't have asked for a better service. They were incredible.

On behalf of our mums and my husband and I, we thank you for our amazing stay and would highly recommend Tall Timbers to anyone staying on the northwest coast of Tasmania.

Review is for the restaurant especially the potato gnocchi. It was tasteless and deserves zero ratings. The pizza and bruschetta were decent. I must say the waitstaff were very warm, friendly and professional.

High prices for low standard meals and rooms. Staff are nice, management treat staff like slave's and have no respect for customers. Money is all they care about.
Recommend going elsewhere.

Review about the restaurant. Looks like it's a fine dining restaurant, this is portrayed by the prices and their menu. Meals were sub standard, I paid 54 for a steak and they couldn't even cook it rare as I requested.
For $50+ a meal you'd think they would be able to clear your plates after service as well but no I also had to remove my own plates from my table.
Lovely place for a drink but would not recommend wasting money on the food

We were brought in by an ambulance after having a car accident. The night man on reception couldn't give a rat's!
The room was overpriced but below average - even the biccies were stale! The buffet breakfast was a waste of $25 each! Everything was cold and the pancake machine didn't even work.
We will not be back!

1km to Smithton, Tall Timbers is a nice hotel with good price to enjoy wild/farm life and starry night. Room is spacious. If there's a 7-11 in the camp, that would be wonderful.

Was disgusting, my friends went in to get pizzas for dinner, it tasted fine but now we have food poisoning, my brother woke up a little while after eating, and started hallucinating, saying that he shouldn't have eaten the pizza and went to the bathroom and threw up, the rest of us started to feel sick a little while. Won't be coming back until food is actually edible ??'?

A must visit when visiting or staying in Circular Head.
Ice cold beer & lovely meals.
We camped in the RV park attached to the complex.
Our whole experience was brilliant. Thankyou, we will be back.

Tall Timbers was amazing with a great restaurant, pool, laundry, bottleshop and the rooms were massive with all amenities included including fridge, fan and heater. The staff and management were approachable and professional and friendly. They worked in a high pressure environment with many patrons having three course meals but they were quick, efficient and took it all in their professional stride.

Hotel was ok, pool was not bad. Cape Grim Bistro was a let down. Overpriced, understaffed and very very slow. The wait staff was good and tried their best but were let down but a Hotel Manager who was rude and dismissive. I'd eat somewhere else.

Great place to stay with lots of areas to explore nearby. We stayed after visiting the Tarkine region which is stunning and it would have been nice to have more time to explore. The villa was amazing with 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, a kitchen area, large dining table, sitting area, and multiple tvs. Plus an amazing view on on the deck of a duck pond. We went in the less busy season when it was reasonably priced. There is a restaurant on the premises for breakfast and dinner. Dinner was fairly pricey, but there are some cheaper pizzas on the menu which were very good. Free wifi is available and was good.

The rooms were a bit dirty and I wished there was a bit more cleanliness. I also wished there was a better signal. However, the customer service was amazing and there was a pool in the resort. The food was also pretty good and I think this resort is excellent to go to.

Just moved to Smithton and thought we would go for dinner on my partners birthday! Only to leave with food poisoning and absolutely disgraceful attitude in response about it, rang up to explain and didn't care, didn't call us back, nothing. Just grateful I didn't take my 1 year old baby. Won't be going back

Stayed here for a night away in north west Tasmania. Well priced accomodation. I had one of the smaller rooms. Very clean room. Bar, bistro and bottle shop on-site, which is very convenient. Room service and well priced takeaway Pizza and burgers. Can recommend the takeaway pizza option. Would stay here again.

I'd give it 5 stars if they had vegan options on their menu, but they were happy to adapt their menu items to make it vegan for me. All the staff were lovely, everything was clean.

Having stayed here over twenty years ago I returned to the best food, the friendliest staff and the nicest setting for a hotel you can get. The beds were beautiful pillowtop and so very comfortable, a great pool/spa/gymnasium and lovely grounds. This was a wonderful quiet getaway to recharge the batteries in the best launch site to visit Arthur River, Stanley, Dip Falls and many other places.
