Tall Timbers is one of the few appealing places in Smithton, which otherwise is a very workaday place with not a lot of charm.. I love the spacious grounds and the trees and greenery. We stayed the night of Monday February 23, 2026.

Quiet well maintained resort. The rooms are large and well equipped. The on-site pizza is good and very well priced, the restaurant has a good selection of meals and the bottle shop onsite caters for your drink needs.

Why a negative review is being deleted by google? Google please show some integrity on reviews.
I have stayed at this place. The reception staff are very rude and angry. Manager is also rude and sneaky person, who has no regards for customer feedback and concerns.
Rooms are ok. No mobile reception in the rooms, cannot make or receive calls. Wifi is extremely slow or non-exist. Tv is smaller than IPad and it is placed like 1km away from the bed. No microwave in rooms. Wants you to spend your money at their crap restaurants.

Simply the best hotel in Tasmania! We stayed in room 60 over looking the duck pond, had some fantastic meals in the bistro (but took our desert back to the room) and had a ball in the pool at 630am in the morning! Such a great place, not sure what the idiots here going low ratings are all about? Maybe you need to stay home and leave the travelling to the 'best' of us🥳

We had a fantastic time at tall timbers, the grounds are fabulous, the unit was fantastic for a family of 4, well decorated, spacious, very pleasant and with all the amenities we needed. Everything was high class and worked really well. Had a mixed experience at the restaurant, but otherwise, it was perfect, we are already making plans to visit again!
