Went for lunch to this Tavern.
I hade the smash avo and my daughter the traditional chicken parmigiana with gravy.
I must say the prices had been updated and got more expensive. I payed about for our meals. It was alright, my smashed avocado was a cold meal and with 2 runny eggs and bacon on top of a thick bread.

I drove about 1.45 hrs to this tavern cause I heard the food supposed to be good about maybe a year ago.
Well it was nothing really special that I couldn't have eat in Townsville.

The service is good and helpful staff

Family-friendly pub with plenty of options including schnitzel, steak and pasta. Very attentive team of wait staff. Bookings recommended during peak times. Not too noisy either, with tv screens for those who want to watch the sport. Kids were given complimentary coloring in books and pencils to keep them busy and screen-free.

Hi I would like to begin by saying on the grapevine this place in food service as a culinary delight is pretty hit and miss and could use fine tuning
Whether the cook is tiring towards the end of the night we went in around 7.30 so the meal showed some stress whereby we ended up eating under duress as well. Standard pub meals aren't a challenge you'd think.

But the friendliness of the staff at the bar is unbeatable.

The publican was super friendly and made our evening so much fun. The pokes were bright, the food was very good (had a rump and mash), the happy hour from 4 to 6 was unexpected and welcome! Highly recommend

Definitely the best meal I have had in Charters Towers so far. And they have quite a wide variety to choose from. It is pretty much just standard pub style food but the serves are quite large and they do a good job of them.
