We stopped here for lunch and ordered the lemon and pepper Calamari with sweet potato fries and salad on the side. The food was superb and all freshly cooked. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Parking available outside.

These old pubs are unfortunately become rare in Australia. A classic old time gathering hole, where people from all walks can meet and banter with inflated tales of wins, misadventures, aches and losses, over a cold beer. Viva the corner bar!

If you're looking for the best Sunday roast then look no further than the Shamrock Hotel. It was mouthwatering and the service spectacular.

Called in for the cheap pub lunch. Friendly service was refreshing. The meals come out really quick and we were both happy with the quality and quantity of meals

New management has taken over!! Cant fault this place!! Food is always good weather you have a sit down meal or take away like we did tonight, BBQ bourban glazed rib! Got home and the chips are still crunchy and not at all soggy!! Rib you can eat with a fork straight off the bone if it doesnt fall off beforehand! Such a great vibe now! Hats off to the chef!!

The best food in Townsville. Honestly we have never had a bad meal there. The parmy is outstanding. The kitchen staff are lovely. The service is quick. The pub is clean. The prices are very good. Hats off to the chef's. Always look forward to a meal there.

Lunch special chicken schnitzel is excellent value and consistently delicious. Also has great vegetarian options

Food was amazing but waiting for kids meals and kids icecream was a joke as the pub didnt have enough bowls. Took a plastic cup and put icecream in that after waiting an hour after kids finished their dinner. One child finished her icecream and then bowl was sent back to use for second child. Bowl was washed and then used to serve spaghetti to a child on another table. This should not jave been my problem!!!

A disappointing exercise in patience.

Upon arrival, my Father and I experienced perhaps the slowest front counter service I've ever experienced, after a 5 minute wait while the 2 people in front of us placed their orders, we spent another 5 placing ours. This delay was present despite us already having decided what we wanted, the cashier struggled a lot simply trying to place our order.

Following this was a 40 minute wait for the food (On a quiet night), I had hoped this wait would result in a well cooked parmie, I was disappointed with a burned and dry mess of a parmie. My father was presented with a slightly better cooked Schnitzel and an far too much mushroom sauce, most of which went to waste as there was easily enough to cover the entire schnitzel twice over.

Overall, a major disappointment, I has hoped for an improvement over last time, however I am sad to say things have worsened.

Dining here during the Tuesday night parmie night, I naturally ordered accordingly, as did the rest of my family. Our parmies were thick, jucy, well crumbed and well topped with good cooking. Presentation was average. Normally I would give this 4 Stars, however there were several issues with service. Staff failed to provide a table number to us when ordering, and as we found out shortly after, placed our order onto another table. They worked quickly to resolve the issue. However, perhaps as a result of the mix up, our meals took almost 40 minutes to arrive, a disappointing wait. Furthermore, and this is a nitpick, the music videos displayed in the main TV were, at times, pornographic.

Overall, I would love to have rated this 4 stars, but it looks like I will have to return some time down the to see if my review needs to be amended.

Came around 6pm on a Tuesday and ordered a Ham Parmi. I was very disappointed by very dried out chicken which is reminiscent of pre cooked chicken that has been heated up. The taste in the Napoli sauce was very underwhelming and lacking in taste or a desirable texture. The chips on the side where good as well as the general presentation and speed in which the meal was delivered. Pricing was also good. I would recommend this place for a budget meal provided you aren't looking for any amazing taste, however only on the nights they offer specials, otherwise the food is not close to being worth the full price.

Quiet lunch with Amazing Breeze at the Shamrock. The food was most excellent. Staff awesomely friendly. This was a refreshing stop whilst in Townsville. We would recommend the Shamrock to all.

Large meals and live music on Sunday afternoons

Had a lovely time at the bar. The staff are very friendly and efficient. The dining area was quiet and nice. Had vegetarian pizza with jalapeño, capsicum, black olives etc. I can vouch that is the best pizza I had ever tasted. The pizza size is also substantial. The chef, Pippa, is great. She personally came over to our table to check if the pizza is to our liking. Don't ever miss the pizza here. Shamrock beer is pretty average.

Excellent chicken parmi with plenty of variety. Nacho parmi, three cheese parmi, or classic parmi, including many others (about a dozen different types to choose from). Soft drinks comes in cans, not on tap in the restaurant area. The restaurant area is much more pleasant than the main bar area. Not a busy area on weekdays.

All parmies are $11.90 on Tuesday.
