Pleasantly surprised by the ambiance of the beer garden area! Our meals (400g rump steak special and a carbonara) were both delicious and great value for the price. Great pub fare. We'll be back!

The Australian always has a great welcoming atmosphere about it. The food is fantastic and always on point AND most importantly, the beer is ice cold! We love stopping into the Aussie for a beer or a meal. Highly recommend the Aussie!

50c wings on Friday = why wouldn't you come just for that.
Usually a decent schooner of beer on special.
Aaaand free oysters on Fridays from 5.30pm are back baby! Shucked right in front of you 😋

Only star lost is the smell of feral cat/possum pee out the back.

We had a shocking experience with the owner of this establishment last night. My husband and 2 sons (11 and 6 years) were in the pub watching the end of the Matilda's World Cup game. It was a very exciting match and the bar was full and rocking, with every penalty kick being greeted by loud cheers and people banging on tables, chairs, walls etc. My husband (who doesn't drink so was completely sober) and kids were joining in on this fun. Then, from out of nowhere, a lady (who appeared to be drunk) marched over to my 6 year old, got down right into his face and told him to stop kicking the cabinet he was leaning against. She then manhandled him aggressively and had further words to say at him. My husband, who was literally right there, suggested that as he was a 6 year old a better approach would have been to have a quiet word to him who would have corrected this behaviour. The lady then proceeded to criticise my husband's parenting skills. She then returned to her seat at the bar and gave my husband the finger! This whole exchange left my husband, children and other patrons completely bewildered. To target a 6 year old in that moment in a bar full of drunk adults who were behaving in a much more ruckus manner was unbelievable! So many patrons approached my husband after this incident to apologise for the woman's behaviour however she continued with it, canvassing the room telling her side of the story trying to garner support, which wasn't forthcoming. On the way out after the game multiple people actually stopped my husband to tell him just how well behaved our boys were. In short, the owner of this venue was on a power trip and targeted the most vulnerable, a 6 year old, whilst drunk in her own establishment.

Went for the Wednesday special of chicken schnitzel and drink. We also ordered the buffalo wings with plum sauce. Service was great and the food was fantastic. Never seen a schnitty that big and very well cooked, and the chicken wings were some of the best I've ever had.

Venue for before and after food and drinks for the afternoon footy game. Only complaint was starting with a glass for wine, then having to use plastic while my partner drank from a beer bottle???" Atmosphere was good, except other patrons who stood up around their tables chatting and blocking the TV.???" Otherwise great venue.

The lunch special 250gram rump with chips and salad or veg for $19.50 was great. Tender and cooked just right for me at medium/well done. My friend got the fettuccine marinara and loved it. Big size meals. Service at the bar was hit and miss but that was because customers were not saying people were in front of them but in saying that, the staff didn't ask who was first either.

$17 for a 400 gram rump steak gives it 4 stars, it was cooked as I asked medium.
The meal was on the table within 10 minutes.
Very tasty rump , Idaho potato ???" and salad were surface.
Good service and atmosphere.

For an $11 crumbed steak, you get what you pay for, decent food for the price. For a $28 parmi however I wouldn't say the same.. overcooked and forgot the ham, definitely had nicer elsewhere at a much lower price.
Waited about an hour for the food, but the cheap beer made up for it.

A Classic Example of an Australian Pub/Hotel, expect the usual busyness around the front bar, with the rear area serving meals. Good amount of tables, reasonable prices and great food. You can't go wrong at the Australian Hotel

The menu had great variety and priced very well. We both ordered bugers and when they came to the table they looked impressive. But that's where it ended. The filling was huge but so was the base of the bun. You couldn't take a bite out of it and that was after taking half of the filling out. Then the base of the bun was so dense it had a stale feel to it. We both ended up getting forks and knives to eat it. Mine ended up being fish salad and the other pulled brisket and slaw. The pulled brisket was amazing though.
