I ordered a fried chicken burger but they ran out of chicken so I had to have a beef burger and considering I hate beef burgers it was fairly good

Forgot the Mushroom sauce on my beautiful Beef Schnitzel. They apologised for the mistake and brought out a big sauce jug overflowing with delicious Mushroom sauce. Thanks

Fabulous country pub. Open log fire, excellent food and extensive menu. Service was also top class. Well recommended. Do yourselves a favour and treat yourselves to real country hospitality.

Great food, one of the best country pubs

Really liked this place, old style and history plus good bar and food. Take the walk to the town centre lots to see on the way.

Good overnight stay. Ensuite motel room. All very clean.
Good pub restaurant. Best pub food we have had in 2 weeks of traveling. Freshly cooked vegetables with our meat selection.
A good choice for our stay in Jamestown.

Parking at the front, definitely not disability friendly, bathroom/toilet area very compact and small step over to shower. You can purchase continental breakfast, toaster and kettle in room but no microwave. Over all its a nice quiet spot for an overnight stay.

Hubby and i just had dinner and we couldn't fault the food or service. Served with a smile, im assuming the owner processed a gift voucher we recieved as a gift and made sure we recieved the full allocated amount even though our order was under the amount on the card. The food was hot and delicious. Pizza, was fresh and cooked perfectly and the garlic prawns were amazing . Do yourself a favour and try it. We will be back in the near future to try the rest of the menu.

Salt and pepper squid was probably the best I've ever had from anywhere

Another hidden gem in country South Australia.
The Railway is a great little pub, with great beer and very good food (the baked cheesecake was a real hit for my dining companions).
The motel units are clean and well equipped, and very well prepared. It was quiet and warm, with a really comfortable bed. Plenary of parking and only a short walk to the cafe's and bakery in town.
Staff were really friendly.

We booked a Motel room on 11th. February 2022 for two nights and had emails a phone call to confirm the booking. We arrived on Friday 18th. March 2022 for a two night stay only to be told we had NO booking and all rooms were fully booked. I showed the man my emails etc. and he said there is nothing he could do to help us. At this point I swore at him as I was so upset, with visions of sleeping in our car for two nights. His attitude was very poor. He did not even appologize for the mistake. I asked him where else I could try, and he said that all accomodation in Jamestown was fully booked, because of a lot of things going on over the weekend. Just as we were going out the door he said I suppose you could try the Commercial Hotel. We will never contemplate booking at the Railway Hotel ever again.

A wide range of nourishing meals, excellent garlic bread as a preliminary and a goodly range of beers and wines. We particularly enjoyed the Belalie Wines Shiraz - A locally produced red not seen very often in Adelaide restaurants. We participated in a large Family event that was discreetly supported by an attentive staff. A great way to spend a cool Monday night before the much anticipated rains fell in the early morning.

The food is great and the staff are fantastic. If anyone travels to or through Jamestown, put this place on your list to have a drink and a meal.

No laundry servive in james town and it has been taken advantage of

Yearly get together(some couples have been going for 15yrs.)with a large group from Adelaide for Jamestown Cup. Railway Hotel is our hotel of choice. We have an awesome time with amazing people. Rob and Shelley are the perfect hosts. Clean affordable rooms and great meals. Wouldn't change a thing. Perfect long weekend. Can't wait for next year.
