Customer Review

Stopped in for a meal whilst traveling around Aust. Had a seat in the outdoor area out the front. Was protected from the wind and rain whilst still being able to enjoy the view of the foreshore. They were dog friendly also, letting our little cavie sit with us and even bringing him out a treat.

Considering last time they told us to never come back after requesting a refund for sub par and terrible (raw) food... And incorrect order...

Tonight was absolutely brilliant. Staff were friendly, the steak was amazing and I didn't even mind the baine marie, the cauliflower bake could have some chives, onion and garlic thrown in for extra flavor, but that is the only niggle.

Keep up the good work, seems you guys have learned, grown and gotten better by leaps and bounds.

Evening meal. We waited over an hour for our food. We had to ask when it would be ready. After 10 minutes I asked to change my meal, without checking with the kitchen the waiting staff told me it wasn't possible as they would have started. 50 minutes later I asked where our food was and they said they would start it straight away......pretty frustrating.

The complimentary salad bar had cheese brocolli which amazingly had absolutely no flavour.

Once the meals arrived the pasta was flavourless and dripping in oil. The beef cheeks were tender but again zero flavour. The pizza however was almost raw. I queried this and the waiting staff agreed it was doughy looking. It went back to the kitchen and returned in 2 minutes slightly browner, so can only assume they ran a blow torch over it as the base was still sloppy.

I doubt I would go there again. Poor service, long wait for very poor meals. Slop. Go elsewhere.

Good vibe, the seafood pizza was undercooked and very bland.

Staff should also be trained in making cocktails, the mojito was just mint and soda water with vodka definitely not with $18, definitely wasn't a mojito

$160 a night for a room that had a hard bed and hard pillows. Shower had very little water pressure and was generally cold until a scalding burst of hot water came out. Floorboards all thorough accommodation area meant you heard every other guest walking to and from their room, even if you tried to tip-toe you made noise. Also check if they have a DJ on when you are staying and do NOT book. Both nights of my stay they had a DJ on until 2 in the morning. Could hear the arguments between drunk customers and the threats they made to each other. Doors missing downstairs which just elevated the noise levels. $320 for about 8 hours sleep on the weekend. Then a 7 hour drive back to Adelaide with very little energy.

Would never stay again,
Saved to go over for 5 days over Easter. The room was above the kitchen and got smoked out numerous times to the point we left exhaust fan going the whole time and windows open. A couple of night they had the night club going which the second night was till 3am and lots of people yelling in making a lot of noise in the hallways, could also hear other kids/babies screaming from other rooms.
Room dirty, beds extremely hard to sleep on and no where to sit in the rooms, literally just 2 beds, tv, toilet and a shower

Free breakfast in the shared kitchen but half the time there were no bowls to use as people take them to the rooms, one morning there was no milk and another morning no coffee..

Location great, has a lot of potential but doesn't seems to not have the people who come and stay there's best interest

We went here for lunch a couple of weeks ago by chance. Husband had the boar fish and I had the mussels and they were the best I have ever had! Staff were friendly and overall a wonderful and good value meal.

Real shame about the pizza's we ordered for lunch. Hastily made, doughy base, a little under cooked, too much tomato sauce base, no real flavour to the Seafood or Supreme pizzas. Took it home recooked it and added anchovies.

Family and friends went there this evening for a lovely meal. We have been coming here for 10 years.
We were looked after by the lovely Alana & the team. Everything was spot on and they really looked after us. Beautiful meals & beautiful service.
Thank you Tiffany for giving us the opportunity to come back to the Pier Hotel and leaving us with such a wonderful and positive experience and is so very much appreciated.
Tell anybody wanting the great experience for food and drinks, don't hesitate to visit the team at Pier Hotel.

Pretty pricey mussels compared to other places, rather broken up with shells all through the broth. Garlic bread was undercooked and should have been sourdough in my opinion. The flavour was pretty good

I stayed here in February 2023 for a week. I loved the place it is very basic and simple very old cottage like. You see and feel the history in this place. The sounds of the waves on the beach at night time was great. I will be staying here again for sure I love the no fuss stay

Best location for a quick stopover on the way. Near everything in the city! Walking distace. The best for me was to be able to walk to the pool in front of the road.

Room was not very spacious but it was was clean and tidy. The amenities provided were more than enough for a comfortable stay with the addition of a shared kitchen area.

Location is great with several nearby restaurants and stores. There is a taxi bay outside making it easy to organise pickups and drop-offs. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Overall, pleasant and comfortable stay. I would recommend this place to anyone that is on a budget.

Didn't stay here overnight but had dinner 1 night. It was so good we came back the next night. Great country/seaside hospitality.

The rooms are small and very dated, the exhaust in the bathroom is a problem and we are asked to sign a wager that we have to pay the fine if the alarm rings while we take a shower, which seems really unfair and requires to be fixed by the hotel in the first place.

The good thing was the presence of a common kitchen and options for breakfast ...

Stay away. The food was absolutely rubbish. Worst dining experience.

The vegetarian pasta came out with bacon and chicken. An apology wasn't offered, even though we had already waited for 60 minutes for the meal. After waiting 30 minutes for a remake, they served up a sub par vegetarian pasta with roasted potatoes, roasted carrots, probably just scraped up some roast of the day veggies to throw in.

The 38 dollar whiting was overcooked to an inch of its life, suchna shame, and the salad was a micro bowl of days old inedible coleslaw, without dressing. Skinny French fries were flat out cold.

Keep away from this place. I'm 100% sure there's better places to eat and drink. In fact, there's a business opportunity here for anyone to cook up some basic pub meals in Port Lincoln.

Highly recommended if seeking low-priced, budget accommodation.
Rooms as advertised, clean, neat, and tidy.
I liked the communal kitchen concept, and shared toilet/bathroom worked for me.
Central location.
Great food and staff are welcoming, helpful, and friendly.

Had dinner here. The food was very nice. Had the daily special of flake.
Service staff was very polite and friendly. I would recommend having a meal here.
I cannot comment on accommodation as I did not stay here.
There is also an amazing view from the dining room. So nice.

If you're expecting the advertised "famous seafood platter" you'll be disappointed... its but a shadow of its former glory... clearly chosen to opt for convenience of preperation and cost cutting over quality. My last seafood platter here, time to try elsewhere.

We stayed 3 nights in a room with a water view, that's only 1 star for the room, room stars were deducted for the noisy house guests at 6am and the failure of check in staff to inform me that a DJ was playing music till 3am in the bar area just below us.
The room ( twin beds) cost $75 was clean, squeaking floor boards, a tv , shared facilities was nice and clean as well as a nice big kitchen.
Note: there's lots of noisy patrons around 3am in the street below.

We patronised the bar with happy hour 4-6pm.
We didn't eat in the restaurant and there's off street car parking behind the pub.

Came here for dinner on our last night in Port Lincoln. The young guy taking orders was so lovely and happy it was a great way to start the night. We ordered the garfish, a beef schnitzel and a chicken Royal pizza. We also had 1/2 Dozen Thai oysters and the garlic bread which was fantastic. The food was yummy and we had a great night. Would definitely come again.

I had an opportunity to dine at the hotel recently after some of the Covid-19 restrictions had been lifted. I've generally been happy eating there before and this time I chose from the specials board. The potato and cauliflower soup was a brilliant start along with the terrific garlic bread. The chicken pasta had sold out so it was obviously popular so I chose the lamb curry, I loved it, I'd been tossing up between the two dishes so maybe next time it will the one I choose. Congratulations & well done considering all the issues we've had to endure :)
