I recently visited the Boston Hotel Cafe and ordered the vegetarian bowl. The vegetables were fresh and delicious, and the black rice was cooked perfectly. However, the portion size was surprisingly small - I'm not sure if anyone in the kitchen is a vegetarian, but it's hard to imagine that such a minimal amount of veggies could be a full meal for one person. I ended up going into town to buy a smoothie because I was stil hungry, and I'm not a big eater. It would be great if they could boost the bowl with halloumi or even add a fried egg on top to make it more substantial. I did ask for for a vegetarian boost when I ordered it, but was told lamb and chicken were my only option. Weird for a vegetarian meal.
The location, though, is stunning - right on the water with a beautiful view. The restaurant itself is very elegant, with tables and everything else spotless and tidy. I sat outside and it is a lovely space The staff were well-dressed and professional, though I felt they lacked a bit of personality. A touch more warmth and attentiveness in the service would have really enhanced the experience. Overall, a lovely spot with great flavors, but there's room for improvement in portion size and service.
