A huge plate of wedges for $12, two senior meals - a very small serving of fish, but it was, though small, delicious- and the calamari dish was rubbery. Very noisy from traffic in the deck dining area, I don't know that I would go back, but it was ok.

Got a ceaser salad and can't believe it said pay $6 to add salt and pepper squid. Came with 4 small fish finger pieces on top.

The people were nice but the meal was a let down.

Just had the best steak I have ever eaten. Great flavour, tender and cooked as I requested. Thanks to the kitchen staff for a great lunch. Brilliant service from Holly??'- will be back.

Everything was very enjoyable.
The Turkey was a little bit too dry for my taste. Ample Prawns and Oysters for everyone. Cheeses, Cold Meats and desserts were great. A bit more choice of GF would have been appreciated

Had the best time here, at Christmas 🎄 plenty of gorgeous food, great selection. Even seafood oysters too, my favourite. And I've never seen so many desert options, the cakes and puddings all looked so delicious l didn't know which one to choose. Great atmosphere, Santa gives out a gift to the children. The staff are so friendly and willing to help in any way. You must book ahead for this.

My partner and I go here often, always decent food. Table service is NON existent now, have to order through a QR code and can't customise meals etc. Very annoying. And tonight DAMN our table was sticky!

Large, welcoming hotel, popular and well patronised. They have a varied menu and friendly staff. There is ample parking and a great wine list.

Table layout was great, with plenty of room to sit comfortably. Outdoor terrace dining as well as indoor and lounge seating, so a place for every occasion 🎉

There is an option to order meals & drinks from your table using a QR code, or you can order meals at the register and drinks from either of two adjacent bars 🍺

One of the bars features a great cocktail list with most fancy drinks being excellent value around $14 🍹

We ordered a medium 300g rib fillet steak with prawn topper and a serve of chicken satays & rice. Both meals were served promptly, presented perfectly and tasted great 😋 These were washed down with a couple of awesome craft tap beers 🍺

Followed up with lime cheesecake & coffees, also excellent ??'?

I note there have recently been a couple of poor reviews for this venue, but our experience was nothing short of exemplary 🏆

While visiting Gympie, we sought out somewhere for lunch and came across the Phoenix. I wish that I had read the reviews before deciding to stop there as all the 1 star ratings are spot on! Most of the staff were more interested in something else other than helping us as customers. We are not fans on having to use the QR method as the only way of ordering but can get past that inconvenience. The menu is more priced for an upper-class restaurant rather than a pub, and when our steaks arrived, I couldn't believe what I was served. My wife and I ordered the same cuts of rump. Hers was ordered medium rare and mine medium well. My wife's was looked good about an inch or so thick, but mine looked like it had been stepped on and charred to within a course mickey hair of its life. The chef should be ashamed. The salads are dressed prior to serving, so if you prefer no dressing you or an alternate dressing, no luck here. After one of the worst dining experiences ever, it was not a difficult decision to make, never to return to the Phoenix.

Food was terrible. Chicken Parm was processed chicken breast from. A box, had to pay extra if you wanted vegetables instead of salad. Pizza was swimming in cheese and could not see or taste other ingredients. It's so over priced, have tried several times but no more.

Great venue. Staff are lovely. We go there regularly for girls' night out. Have done for years. We had to send one meal back as the crumbed meat was overdone. There is only one choice for vegans. A Buddha bowl, which is ok but not a lot of effort, just salad in a bowl really.. Years ago, we could get a vegetable curry, which was nice but not anymore. The hotel's response was that "they are not a restaurant and not to expect the same variety." I don't believe that's a valid point, as many hotels can provide more than one option for vegans. We will hope for an improvement in this area.

Went Saturday night & 3 of us wanted mash & veg with the parmi instead of chips & salad...didn't realise they charge astronomical prices this...so they charged us $51 extra on top if our meals for mash & veg $8 for veg & $9 for Mash...got a refund on the mash & veg & went with chips & salad...what a joke!!!! I don't even know how you could even suggest such a price!

Normally we loved coming here, but the 'service' today was disgusting. There's no signs when you walk in, no reservation on the table. No staff to explain where to go. There were only two tables being used inside, so we sat at a free one. The waitress came up to us and asked who sat us there. We explained that there was no reservation sign etc & that we were looking at the menu to decide what to eat. She said we had to move because it was reserved, despite no sign on the table or any other tables inside. I'm in a wheelchair, so moving is hard, but quite understandable most times. The way we were told on the other hand was terribly rude. Then she said we can't seat ourselves and to stand out at the back of the restaurant, at the till & wait to be seated. Then she added snarkly that we wouldn't be seated inside at all, (despite most tables being free and not reserved) and would have to sit outside in the sun on a 31+ degree day, when I'm in a wheelchair & my husbands elderly parents were with us & our son. The service used to be fabulous, now we will no longer be going there. We went to a different pub/restaurant and they said that they have been hearing stories like this constantly about the Phoenix

The food was exceptional, the staff were more than happy to serve with us with a smile on their face and plenty of Christmas cheer. Definitely will go again next year.

It's an ok pub and probably one of nicest presented in town. However...it just lacks atmosphere and warmth from staff. Menu is great. Steaks aren't that great, but pizzas and most of the rest of the menu is. It's popular so expect to need to make reservations Friday and Saturday nights. Car parking is limited. The portions are pretty small for a pub restaurant.

Won't be back. Asked to move to table inside because it was too windy. Ordered meal through app at table inside. 30 minutes later went and asked how long it would be. Was asked where we sat initially and she checked the dockets, walked out to our original table where they'd left our meals and brought them in to me at the counter. I advised it wasn't all there. The response was 'yes it is. This is all you ordered.' I said 'no it's not.' Response 'well what else did you order?' I said 'the Parma chicken on special.' She said that wasn't ordered. I said it was. She advised I'd have to show her our receipt so I pulled out my phone and showed her and she said she'd get it put on for us. When she returned with it she apologised and said we could have a free drink when we wanted it. After the meal my husband asked another staff member if we could have our free drink. Her response was 'oh we don't normally offer that. Who told you that you could have a free drink?' We pointed the lady out and were brought our drink. I ordered the brownie dessert which is meant to come (according to the pic and description on the menu app) with choc sauce, strawberry, cream and ice cream. I got a brownie in the middle of a side plate with some choc sauce and a small dob of cream - no ice cream and no strawberry! Very disappointing. It used to be great food and great service.

Great location, spectacular views of the surrounding mountains. You can sit and have lunch or dinner in the outside dinning area and enjoy the views which are amazing. It's so breathtaking it's worth the drive to go and visit The Phoenix hotel Gympie. The food is delicious. Wonderful service a great atmosphere you will have a wonderful and enjoyable time.

Family had meal there tonight, so disappointing..I had the cesar Salad and I couldn't eat it, there were that many anchovies it made the Salad so salty it was inedible..plus two of our family members had finished their meal before we even received ours....won't be back again

This has been our favourite spot for awhile. However, we came in for dinner on Saturday. Food was delicious, as always but very noticeable smaller meals for the same price.

Steak completely burned all 3. We ordered the steaks in medium rare and got them in well done. Sorry but not for a $38 steak.

Was my daughter's 7th birthday tonight, food was absolutely amazing staff even took the time to decorate the table. They all made sure the birthday girl felt very special! Thank you guys so much it was our first time there and definitely won't be our last ??'?

Ive been there twice so far since we moved to the gymp. I love it! Easy parking, great food, courtesy bus, cocktails, indoor/outdoor areas well designed for weather conditions. I've got a birthday coming up and they cater great to groups so that's a no brainer!

We had never been here before, service was great! Greeted at the door by staff who found us a table. Meals were excellent too. Recommend the Nolan's Rib. Yum! Kids ate their meals which is rare. Wayne was fantastic

I encourage you to make a booking as the place fills up really quickly.Portion size and quality of the meals are inconsistent but when it's good it's good. The food can either be a hit or a miss and the lack of consistency lowers the rating.Staff are always friendly and welcoming but the drinks are a little pricey for the quality you're provided with.

Lunch, for our anniversary, was excellent. We have tried different main courses and are still amazed at how nice the food is. Perfectly cooked and well presented. The service was excellent and faultless.Looking forwards to our next outing there.Many thanks and keep up the good work.

Tbone was over cooked, vegies were cold as and my pasta was drowned in pesto when the menu said FRESH garden herbs not pesto.
