Such a massive improvement from this local bistro. Staff were attentive, friendly and accommodating. Especially Karen who went out of her way to ensure the kids were entertained and our meals were great. Really great set menu for Mother's Day and souvlakis. Cookies for the Mother's at the table was a lovely touch. Well done Sporto!!!

My daughter and I arrived tonight at 7pm after making a booking earlier in the day. It was busy and very loud. I went up to the bar to get drinks, the barman was very pleasant & our drinks were good. Unfortunately it went downhill from there. We were advised a wait staff member would come & take our order. We waited & waited & waited. I asked one member of our staff if she could take our order but was told \"You\'re not my table but I\'ll let the other waitress know\" We waited for another 15 minutes, meanwhile watching people who had come in well after us get their order taken. After waiting for well over 45 minutes for our order to be taken and staff members looking at us & then veering around us, we decided to leave. It appears that as non members we were not welcome or wanted. Sadly I can\'t recommend the Sporting club to go for dinner.

Best meals ever and made some good friends there

My recent visit since moving back to the lovely town of Lara wasn't as pleasant as it usually is. Especially being a sponser for the Lara sporting club. Firstly took my phone out to send a photo of the machine that is a favourite of ours. No money put it. Hadn't even sat down and the lady that was working the gaming room came straight up to me stood as close as she could which was kind of weird and uncomfortable. To which she said you can't take photos in here. I asked since when was that a rule? I'm a regular at the Lara pub and no where else in Australia I have visited has had this rule, she said you just can't. Bitterly disappointed in the rudeness. Go to the Lara hotel. They are great and friendly. And obviously being a local/family as well as a sponsor for many years to be treated this way was a slap in the face.
In response to your comment back to this review. I have attached 2 photo's one of which does not breach this law and also the photo that was taken that clearly doesn't have anything on the machine nor does it breach anyone's confidentiality as it has nothing in the background. Clearly only the machine. But great to know this is your response and why your club isn't doing great. Goodluck to your club.
