Gr8 place to go for lunch or dinner food is amazing & gd value for money so highly recommend for a gd feed howeva public bar service has its gd days & bad days where on the bad days bar staff should of just stayed home instead of coming in & being rude to the locals & visitors that r helping pay for their wkly income pay packet & think some of the bar staff need & should be reminded of this

Myself and family went for lunch here today, the chicken snitchels and parmi were yummy! Size was decent too, price fair. Everything cooked perfectly! Chips and fresh salad. Waitresses were lovely and polite also. Children friendly, we felt welcomed.
Thankyou for a wonderful experience! We will be back again!

My band (The Grey Matter) loves it here. Fantastic atmosphere. Great stage and outdoor area. Publican very accommodating and has the friendliest staff.

Best food in Townsville! Enjoyed every lunch we had there. Tried most items on the menu and liked them all. Friendly staff made the experience even more pleasant.

Allways a great place to relax. For me great price on my drinks. Cheapest place for my Cider. Always someone to have a yak with or just keep to yourself if you want to. Love the Herbert Hotel.

It is hard not to love this place it has everything you could hope a grunge pub would have! The vibe is so authentic it's like stepping back in time to a more simpler time in the public bar and you can't go wrong enjoying a meal in the beer garden. Don't let looks fool you, the place is huge and has a massive courtyard for events. The food is decent and the service is always fast. I love how they have free mini pies at knockoff to enjoy with your beer when sitting in the bar! Just a great allrounder hotel and motel in a great location in the city.

Went for lunch on their chicken parmigiana special Tuesday. Meal was gluten free, large and delicious. Staff were very friendly and helpful with a smile. Great value for money and highly recommended. I will return.

Can not fault the staff, being coeliac I find it hard to find something simple with no wheat rye, barley but Anne organised a GF pita bread base and made me 2x gf SUPREME pizzas, was delicious, THANK YOU if you are lactose intolerent let the staff know you will not be disappointed, many thanks ?? ...More

Sooooooo I have to share THE MOST AMAZING Random Evening at Herbert Hotel : I had finished at a women's function in the heart of Townsville City - I was looking for a Taxi when I randomly walked into the Herbert Hotel. From here - I can honestly say - the Herbert Community provided one of the BEST Random Nights Of My Life ! My Hubby could see where I was online - and when I told him about my night - he said - IT IS OUR NEW LOCAL !

Weather you want a a relaxing brew after work or you want some live music action this is the place to be.. Food menu available, pokies, available easy access from the street. Awesome atmosphere and great service. ??'?

First time at the Pub to see a live band. Good rock band and volume was just right. Nice big open space inside for people to dance or stand/sit around listening. Outdoor smoking area could still hear/see the Band. Crowd was over 30s and relaxed which was nice. Only $5 entry. Overall it was a good night out.

Ordinary. Bar staff are cute, but they know they are, so very average service. Yet another pub that relies on looks rather than service. Disappointing.

The atmosphere was great. The food was poor... for me. Others loved their meals... I lucked out. A medium steak served all but well done, tough as boots and full of gristle... HOWEVER... the staff saved the day... full refund. I ate what I could as there are people starving in the world. So the lesson... a disappointment can be remedied by quick thinking pleasant staff... errors happen, but the fixing of them is the most important. "Vampd" band was excellent. Halloween party night was a great experience. Thank you.
