Came from Melbourne spend the school holidays in Hamilton. Amazing food at their Bistro.. We had the spiced calamari, Arancini, southern chicken burger and pub favorite Parma..nice and crispy and .. wish we found this place earlier.. their daily specials looks great as well..

Visited this TAB on a Saturday. Ordered food and paid. Then the waiter approached us and said the food which we ordered has finished. Then we ordered steak for both. Food was not taste good. However the place has plenty of room and good ambience.

Terrible meal, it took 1.5 hours for the meal to come out, only being half serves of Parmis which were soggy, gravy was like water and when asked why the parmi were half sized simply got it's a lunch special, where it is not specified that it is half serves. Definitely won't be coming back at all.

The meals here are awesome, the desserts are even better! I had the seafood crepe today and it was mouth watering! The service was great, friendly and helpful. The atmosphere was fantastic. I will definitely be going back!

Was in the gaming room, went out for a smoke and came back to a loud group of customers on my machine. I was gone 5 minutes max! Bar staff done nothing, said to tell shift manager but the shift manager sat outside on her phone and had a vape and said nothing. Loud customers were already warned x3 for being disruptive while I was there, they were yelling obscenities at me because I took more than 3 minutes. (I'm from out of town so didn't know a 3 minute time limit applies). 3 minutes isn't even enough time to go to the toilet.
Very disappointing that's how out of towner are treated. Won't be in a hurry to go back

It was a very very small schnitzel and obviously cut in half, you could see clearly the straight knife cut then served up as two plates to us with very few chips and a salad with no dressing
So disappointed!!!
And on top of that even though we were ordering at 1:30pm before a 2pm kitchen close they still had to check if they were even going to serve us at all because they wanted to shut the kitchen

Always dine at the Central when I come home, been there twice in the last 2 weeks and went tonight but never again. Not a busy night and 7 of us ordered food at 7 pm. 2 chicken schnitzels came out shortly afterwards, then 3 steaks came out half an hour or so later, 2 of which were wrong. They were sent back and the "proper" meals came out. Steaks were cold and the meals were still wrong. $42 for the meal and couldn't get it right. The last 2 meals came out about another 40 minutes later and they were wrong also but ate them anyway as it was nearly 9pm. Went to the bar to order some drinks. Twice the attendant forgot the beer with both orders on 2 separate occasions. Been frequenting this pub off and on for 45 years. Worst service I've ever had there.

Ordered oysters kilpatrick and the tiger prawns and scallop pasta. Oysters came out first (even though i asked for them to come with main). I'm glad they did though, because they were absolutely disgusting. Seemed like shredded ham on top and microwaved to finish. I refunded the lot because i didn't trust the rest after that.
Ordered a chicken parmi to be safe after that and it was pretty good, albiet very tight with the sides.
I did notice that not a single person at our table; nor the one next us received our meals at the same time. People had finished meals whilst others still waited. Pretty bad experience all round and not cheap prices.

Best Pub steak in town cooked perfectly juicy and tender. Staff are friendly and happy.

Large variety on menu. Great food. Nice wine list.

Been coming here for a long time, then been away for couple of months and come back to have my normal Chicken Parma and I see price has gone up
and quantity of meal way less food, left after eating and had to buy some more food elsewhere to feel full, I will give you one more chance to get the portion size back to how it was..

This place is corrupt!!! The beer is heavily watered down. The food is ordinary. And, the pokies are the worst we've seen anywhere in Australia.
Clearly the Andrews Labor government is gouging taxes from Victorian pokies because they're astronomically in debt.
So, the pokies just take and take and take. This pub is complicit in this, allowing their pokies to be set so high. We lost money without any free spins nor an ounce of fun. A gentleman next to us had lost a $5000 without any free spins nor reward. Stay away from this pub altogether!!!

The only remaing pub on Grey St, the grand looks vastly different than I remember. The meals are a few notches above the usual pub grub standard, not gastro pub level put pretty damn decent. The steak was very nice and the fish and chips looked great.

Way to expensive & very small portion, if I went somewhere else they would have charged that size for a kids meal, not to mention it didn't taste good, and there was a mess up with our orders & hair in our food!!

The food was great but very disappointing that the young girl who served our food managed to drop the plate and the food on the table. She could not get away fast enough. Brought it to the attention of management whose response was to send the poor girl back to us to "pick up the mess". Not her fault. Management need to teach their staff accordingly

A cold wet night for two Queenslanders, but a roaring fire a glass of Guiness Bitters, a Squealing Pig Sav blanc and a large plate of Rosemary Lamb cutlets made up for it all.

Our meal was kicked up for some reason but it all got sorted out. Unfortunately when you say your allergic to tomato just taking it out the back and moving the meal minus salad to a fresh plate doesn't cut it. We know that's what happened because he now has repercussions of having tomato residue. I found it very disappointing every single staff member I saw from front hotel staff waitresses and even pokies lady were using their face mask as a chin warmer. Even the Covid warden!!! The one staff member who consistently had his on it was under his nose at least that's better than on the chin. We are all sick of wearing masks but come on.

Absolutely disgusting service... I work in health care and therefore have been fully vaccinated and was the only person in the hotel publicly humiliated because I wasn't able to access mygov to show cert. I have the text to state I have had vax but wasn't good enough so was told to leave!
Once I left I decided to check entry etc for signs stating full vax only patrons, nope no signs.. so I looked up their website and what do you know, no information on anything at all let alone vax only patrons! So unbelievably upsetting.

Always a good feed... followed by a nice beer by the wood fire in the bar. Awesome

The Scotch fillet with seafood topping was magic. Aged steak? Best pub steak I've ever had. Guiness on tap. Fantastic pub.

Very nice, child friendly the staff were very nice and the food was great.

Lunch at this hotel. Good range on offer, as well as lunch specials. Our food arrived in good time, was well presented and there wasore than ample on each plate. We were not hassled to leave when we had finished eating. Not overly expensive for the quantity and quality of the meals.

Staff are friendly, the food delivery was very quick and was delicious. Staff listened to special instructions. Greta service and great food!

Below average pub food.Steaks were way overcooked!Both ordered medium rare and came out grey all the way through.Kids meals were not too bad, pretty good value with an icecream on a stick.It has poker machines.

We have been there twice in two weeks for lunch as visitors to the area and the staff have been extremely friendly, courteous and helpful. The decor is open and spacious with inside and street dining available. The menu selection covers snacks to full meals at reasonable prices. We would highly recommend as a lunchtime stop.

Sat in the bar. Excellent daily specials and complimentary mini pies and snacks brought to table as well. Tasty food and drink- and lot of options. TVs for dog and horse races. Friendly crowd.
