Great local pub right on the main street. Good for people watching, has lots of activities and areas to do your own thing. The food was ok. Good rather than great, the prawn special was a bit dry. But would come back and try other dishes. Just a good solids pub.

Foods were amazing! It's very relaxing as well they have a big TV for you to watch some Footy and support your selected team. They also have the community notice board for anyone curious what's happening around the Port Douglas.

Excellent service as well! We absolutely loved it and can't wait to come back

Took a " road to recovery" drive to see the HWY and progress on the road after TC Jasper.

Had lunch at Centrals .... the upper mezzanine level.
Food and service was great.

It was good to sit under the fans in the hot steamy weather and enjoy a cold beer and relaxed lunch with friends. UFC on the tv, people starting to come back after the recent floods and disaster in the area. Food was substantial and tasty. Consider sharing the pizza though, they're bigger than they look!

We had fisherman's basket which was ok a bit greasy was expecting a bit more than marble size crab meat when it says crab stick otherwise it was ok maybe we'll try something else next time

The steak was good great atmosphere.
The parma was really bad The chicken was dry as can be and the bread crumbs were still raw I couldn't finish.

Ordered the seafood basket . Highly disappointing for $30 . Was basically all boxed seafood and didn't contain the scallop or seafood stick advertised . Hard to believe a seaside suburb can't find anything not from a box !!

Stopped in to the Central Hotel for lunch. Food was amazing, not crazy priced and everyone loved their food. The ribs were cooked perfectly, the bone easily slid out clean. I had the steak with much room sauce which was made in-house, not from a packet, my med steak was cooked perfectly and was juicy and tender.

Tasty pub lunch! The salad exceeded our expectations!!!

Great place for a drink and some live music! There is also a pool table. It works but it has seen better days as shown in the photograph below. Bartenders are friendly. It wasn't too crowded when we stopped by one night to hear the excellent live music. We didn't have any food so I can't comment on that.

Great spot to watch the AFL games during the day. They have 2 huge screens and have 2 games going at the same time. The beers and cold

Worst food I've ever eaten! We did not finish any of our meals as they were inedible! Not sure how you can make nachos taste like cardboard but if you want to find out order them from here!
The only thing that was great about the place is the atmosphere! Eat somewhere else and then come and have a few drinks here.

Great place for lunch. We got 2 Central Burgers and 1 Chicken Burger which was nice. Quick and friendly service.

The place has a great atmosphere, there was live music inside and football broadcasted from two big screens outside. The garden Wes airy and bustling with people. I had a pepperoni pizza which was good but nothing special. The rest of the pizzas looked quite tasty though. The only downside was that we had to wait for 45 minutes for the food to be served as they were quite busy.

Great location, food, cocktails and cold beer. The super friendly staff and relaxed atmosphere was just the icing on the cake.

Great vibe at this place! Cold beer and cider, and the food is excellent. The pizza in particular, can't believe they get such a crispy base using a conveyor oven. Not over stuffed, but much better than domino's, with real flavour. Coming back for more.

We had a great dinner experience at Central Hotel! The food was fantastic and was served very efficiently.

The wait staff was friendly and showed extreme attentiveness to their guests.

One of the waiters noticed we were watching a game on our phone and acted on her initiative to change the channel. We were extremely impressed by this as we didn't even ask!

The service is great. Beer is icy cold which is exactly what you beed there and the food is well prepared and good sized portions. Not that we could get in but the pkace really rocks with entertainment on Saturday nights.

Stopped here for a drink when visiting in Port Douglas in July. Good service. Good location. Enjoyed the seats outside, looking out on the street. Had a good vibe about the place.

Big venue with lots of setting and easy to get a table during busy times. A happening place with lots of big screens and atmosphere but not the place to go if your looking for quite. Highlight for me was the pizzas, good pizza at a great price make the central a great place when you trying to feed two teenage boys. Other offering standard pub fair and tasty.

The venue is great and really appreciate it. The kitchen food is your downfall. The pizza was not edible on a gluten free base as in like it was paste like instead of crispy. Service was great.

A definite 'solid' 4 stars. Large sports bar & restaurant with garden at the back, mezzanine floor and good food.

For those with a refined palate who are looking for delicacy, quiet and customer service - it is easily argued there are better places to dine in the vicinity.

However, this is a good bet if you have a family and haven't booked. The food is pub grub with a few Port Douglas special additions. It's not overly expensive and kids meals are half price between 5-6pm.

Steak was good (would have preferred it to be bigger), barramundi was excellent, prawns were delicious and veg (carrots & broccoli) was fresh & well cooked.

Multiple bars so you're not waiting too long to get served. The food arrived quickly considering it was busy.

This is the place to go if you've a family and want a 'sure bet' - it's definitely an all rounder.

Very good meals, great atmosphere, plenty of room, great staff very friendly. Clean facilities. Would recommend this place for either lunch or a drink with friends in the evening.

All of our many and varied experiences at this pub have been first rate - trivia nights, bingo nights, family film nights, tv sports afternoons, a cold beer, family meals. It's our go to pub whenever we get to Port Douglas. Give it a try - you wont be disappointed.

Good value pub and won't disappoint. Walked in for an early dinner. Sat out back and my kid started playing with other kids in the back grass area. Nice friendly atmosphere out there. Nachos are worth a mention and great to share amongst the table. Would definitely go back when in the area.

On Tuesday after going on a sunset cruise in Port Douglas, my wife and I had a look at potential restaurants for dinner. We ended up trying the Central Hotel.

First impression is that this is a typically big and popular Australian pub with big projectors for showing sport/music videos, etc with a lively atmosphere.

When ordering food I settled on the Chicken Ranch Pizza and my wife the Steak Sandwich with chips. Considering how busy the venue was, food arrived quickly and efficiently.

Serving sizes were generous and meals reasonably priced. My pizza had a generous amount of toppings and flavour and the bread was fresh. The pizza wasn't greasy and very enjoyable.

Would happily visit again to try something different.

Food was excellent, wasn't too crowded but is very popular. Seating inside, out front and out back. Out back also has it's own bar for convenience.

Just saw how busy it was and decided to try it out, good range of beer and multiple bars, massive venue with good outdoor seating with sport on big screens. The food and beer was reasonably priced, the Schnitzel was excellent and one of the better ones i've ever had. Would recommend for a good feed, drink and sports

Nice place, very busy at this time of year due to Carnival. Not enough staff on. Half an hour line up to order dinner. Food was nice. Kids movies Monday nights.

Nice pub with standard pub fare. The seating is great with a good variety of places to sit and watch the world go by. The cheesy garlic bread was fantastic, but the BBQ chicken pizza was a bit average with not much chicken in sight.

Great food, great service. The prices are a lot lower than I expected for Port Douglas. Be prepared though, no Air-con in the place so find a spot under a fan.

Great atmosphere. Very affordable meals. Prompt and friendly service. Lots of different specials nightly, and terrific entertainment. Definitely worth your time n money. Do yourself a favour.

Massive pub to suit everyone including the kids. Music, sport and a lot of pockets to enjoy an icy cold beer. Love the place. Definitely coming back.
