We had a double birthday celebration. 13 people, 8 T bone steaks ordered. 1 T bone was ok rest as tough old boots. 1 steak was sent back another came no better. Other tables also complaining . Never again ???' 🙃

The Valley Inn is a very welcoming, cozy & relaxed venue to dine at......... for anyone (& kids).
The moment you walk into the hotel you are greeted with a welcoming smile & assisted by the very friendly staff.
Good variety of meal choices plus also a number of small & seniors' meals. The service is obliging & efficient with orders being served in a timely manner. Compliments to the chef as the food is delicious (love the chips).
Also, very impressed with a complete & proper cleaning of the tables (+ chairs) after. Totally recommend this hotel.

We were most impressed. The offer of small meals as well as seniors meals. Service was fantastic. Very friendly and efficient staff. Must compliment the chef. Kitchen staff very professional. Good sized meals even for small meals. Can't recommend enough. Will surely go back.
The only thing I would have liked was to be able to get take away meal as I live alone

I had taken my father out for lunch. We very much enjoyed our lunch today. We will dine here again. My Angus steak cooked to perfection. Thanks to all who work hard there to make diners experience wonderful.

A few of us ex & still employed workers from same company caught up for lunch. Wow this place has changed so much since I was there last about 1987/88 when they had a D.J playing. The small food portions for lunch was just enough for these old bellies. Service was very good & although not busy still had a nice atmosphere. Well done to all involved. I had the Bangers & Mash was very nice.

What a great lunch.
Excellent service from the moment we entered. Most of us opted for the roast of the day (pork) which was delicious.
We were offered drinks in a timely manner and the free bottled water was appreciated.
All in all, a very positive dining experience

Great clean space with good design, surprisingly busy for wed lunch. Service was efficient, attentive and polite. Food was incredible with great flavour, yet when I requested mayonnaise for my fries the waitress returned with it with a message from the chef that left me speechless (as a chef myself this was ....???) ; I was told "for your future reference I will not be serving mayonnaise " this left a bit of a disappointment with how things were going. I'll definitely rethink coming again....

Such a fantastic atmosphere.. Staff were amazing.. Food one time.. Food was beautiful.. some had a small meal which was so good for us older people who don't eat such big meals anymore.. Restrooms were clean.. Had a great night and in time for the football..

The food was delicious! My Dad raved about the battered fish he had, saying it was so fresh! Mom & I each had the chicken parmy in half meals, and we were equally thrilled with them. Even the chips were delicious, and we haven't had decent chips anywhere for several years now.

The service was wonderful. The waitress was friendly, polite and knowledgeable about the menu on offer.

Overall a great experience! We'll be back for sure!

For many years we've gone to The Valley Inn due to it being such a great location, the quick service and the beautiful meals. My rating then was a 4.5-5 stars...
Unfortunately on our last visit (July 2024) we found the menus had changed (last visited in late March 2023), our favourite meals had also changed. Unfortunately this time our meals weren't as enjoyable as our past visits, and I'm a bit disappointed with this.

Great pre game pub, cold Carlton Draft, hot hot buffalo wings to die for and a great beef madras & battered fish special. With a Freo win to make it even better

Great food & lovely atmosphere. I was impressed with the service and quality of food. Our group of 16 were all served hot & well presented meals. The battered fish was a favourite and the chicken parmigiana certainly challenge all the men to clear their plates.

Staff and kitchen coped with our large group without a hitch. Food served promptly without anyone having to wait long. All enjoyed the food and appreciated the comprehensive menu.

We always enjoy a meal had at the Valley Inn. It's a great place. The food is WONDERFUL, and the atmosphere in the bar is equally great. We never regret booking a table.

Unfortunately, just had a very poor parmigiana - small, tough and little in the way of topping. The chips similarly lacked freshness. Can't comment about the salad, because you have to pay extra for that now. It's a Friday night, so no excuses there - the kitchen should be primed.

I'll cut them some slack, as it's otherwise an okay pub, but I'll think twice about ordering another parmi.

Not a special experience.
All chef's have a different idea of what a 'medium' steak should look like.
For me a medium steak doesn't bleed.
If you want something other than chips then it is an additional charge.
Just a scotch fillet and chips was already $40.
Adding veg or salad was going to take this closer to $50 and I wouldn't pay that at your average pub.
For me a $50 steak needs to be amazing.
This was well short of that.

No complaints about the service or the room.

Just, at the end of the day, it wasn't a $40 steak and chips.
I could have prepared this (closer to my liking) at home for $10!

One medium steak was cooked to well done, chips were hard and greasy their excuse was that they have a shortage on chips, one staff member was so rude as to say we are only allowed to make 1 complaint. Their Diane sauce just tasted like Vegemite mixed with Gravy. Some of the salad lettuce was fermenting. All in all a terrible experience

Booked for a mini class reunion recently and enjoyed a great meal in a relaxed setting, for old friends and partners. Light music in the background, so no need to talk loudly over it (which would spoil it for our intentions).
Aussie Parmigana was so huge I couldn't finish it all (and I came with a good appetite) and at a reasonable price. Well-cooked and spot on mix of all elements.
Highly recommend a visit to The Valley Inn.

I can't speak highly enough of the fantastic service received at this pub! All the staff were very friendly and went out of their way to make our day memorable. (15 in our group) The food was excellent as was the ice cold beer. Highly recommended*****

Great local place that is situated not far from Kardinia Park.
Would be awesome for pre/after footy day drinks.

Beers are decently priced, and the Chicken Parma i orders was very tasty. Super thick cut and heaps of chicken.

Would defs come back especially when the Geelong Cats are playing, would be buzzing. Ok

I love the place and I hope they never change the flavour of the chips! Best chips I've ever had! I had the Nacho Parmi and it was really delicious. I never would have thought I would have 2 great meals mixed together. Staff was great and the meals came out really quick. Good job Valley Inn.

Excellent meal for the price. The roast of the day was the highlight at our table as great value and included a variety of vegetables with a modern twist. The service was very efficient and professional and despite eating in the public bar area due to a booked out restaurant we still received excellent table and bar service. Great value overall.

This place have surprisingly amazing food! We tried the entree "Pork Belly Bites" (Gluten Free) and it was really delicious! I had the "Roast of the Day" and my husband had "Grilled Scotch Fillet" (Gluten Free as long as all the sauces are separate) with veg on the side. Great value for money and the staff are very friendly and nice!

Wow! This place is definitely worth a visit for Sunday lunch. 18 meals and every single one was perfect! All the food came out together, no one was waiting for their meal. Ollie was our waiter and he was fantastic. Plates and glasses were cleared without a fuss. I am so full! Cannot speak more highly of this bistro. So, if you want a decent place to have a function, the Sunday lunch kitchen crew are amazing. You won't be disappointed.

Good food, good service, only few gluten free options. We all enjoyed our dishes but one drawback - we were there on the same night as a celebration with lots of children, hence the noise level was too much. We spent the entire evening yelling at each other so we could carry on a conversation with one another! ☹ Would have thought they'd have a function room or maybe a smaller room for such events.

Unfortunately I have to report it was average at best and extremely disappointing compared to our last visit 18 months ago.
The service was poor was poor where they are quick to take orders but slow to deliver...we had wine and asked 3 times for water which we never received.
The food service was really slow and none of our 5 meals were impressive...with over seasoned fries and dry/over cooked and luke warm chicken parmigiana....chicken and topping
I never received salad...
There are too many more reasonably priced options in Geelong that provide far better quality and quantity...sorry but cannot recommend.

The staff the food the service and the company great, go today.

Staff was polite and accommodating. Big plus is that their last orders for dinner is at 8.30pm while most other places had an 8pm cut-off. For was good and I would give a thumb-up for quality and price.

Zach has made our night! He is always so kind and considerate and we always enjoy seeing him. Amazing service and is an asset to the business.
