Update in response to the office's reply
Based on feedback from the RTA and direct communication with the office, it has now been confirmed that the rental bond was never lodged with the RTA. Instead, it was unilaterally applied without my consent.
On my very first day of moving in, I issued a Form 13 due to the unacceptable condition of the room I rented. This raises serious concerns about the office's understanding of tenancy obligations. Ignoring a tenant's notice is one thing - misusing a rental bond is on another level entirely.
Regarding the video recording: it was done purely to protect my own rights. No staff were recorded. It was simply to confirm that the keys were properly returned and to avoid future troubles. Given how matters are handled at this property, what other option did I realistically have?
Throughout this process, the most common response from the office was:
"I'm busy, I don't have time for your problems, I have other tenants to deal with."
Is that supposed to make tenants feel comfortable?
If the office genuinely believed any unlawful behaviour had occurred or that staff were harmed, the appropriate action would have been to contact police. Instead, the office chose to make exaggerated and misleading public statements and disclose tenants' legal names under negative reviews.
Speaking of personal information - when reviews are positive, the office responds politely. But when reviews are negative, reviewers' legal names are published in replies. No consent was ever given for this. I also received an email from the office with a threatening tone. Furthermore, the office disclosed not only my full legal name, but also the full legal name of another applicant who had never had any direct interaction with them.
So let's recap:
• Tenant concerns were ignored.
• An issued notice was ignored.
• The rental bond was withheld and misused.
• Tenants' personal information was disclosed publicly.
And somehow, the office is now presenting itself as the victim.
As of now, the RTA cannot locate any bond lodged under my name, and the office has confirmed that "no bond amount was lodged with the RTA." I believe it won't be long before the RTA contacts the office directly.
I strongly encourage the office to stick to the facts, tell the truth, and stop making this situation worse.

Original review
‼️ I strongly recommend inspecting the room before signing anything here - it will save you money and stress. ‼️
I first asked to inspect a room and was told none were available, and that photos could not be provided. I was told, "We don't have trouble finding tenants - just apply online."
Later, I was suddenly told a room was available and pressured to pay immediately. After paying the bond and deposit, I repeatedly requested to inspect the room or collect the key - all ignored.
When I finally accessed the room, the condition was shocking:
cockroach on the ceiling, mould in the bathroom, damaged cupboard door, stained and frayed mattress, broken bed wheel, dusty wardrobes and broken curtains, holes in window screens, sticky carpet, wall stains - all for nearly $400 per week.
I immediately returned to the office and clearly stated I would not stay. Instead of addressing the condition, staff offered "another clean" and to "remove the cockroach," told me I was "pushing her," said they were too busy with new tenants, and asked me to email instead.
Despite charging a "shared area spring clean" fee, common areas were also dirty (oven, cupboards, fridge smell, unclean microwave).
As a student paying nearly $400 per week, this level of accommodation was completely unreasonable.
For your time, money, and peace of mind - please look elsewhere.
If you still rent here, ⚠️⚠️⚠️ inspect the room before signing anything. ⚠️⚠️⚠️
