I got the rump special. It was pretty good to my surprise. Decent salad, crispy chips and pretty tasty peppercorn gravy. Townsville doesn\'t have the best food but this pub was good.

We drive in to the Sun hotel roughly twice a week from Harvey's Range.
The food is always spot on, the service is friendly and welcoming and the atmosphere is is comfortable.
I cannot recommend this hotel highly enough.
The decor is lovely, the location is great and parking is easy.
Do yourself a favour and try this for your next lunch, dinner, special occasion. I had my birthday dinner here in June and had visitors from interstate and we took them here too and everyone left full and contented.

First time to the Sun, the restaurant is clean and very pleasant with lovely decor
It\'s not overly noisy, so you dont need to yell when talking.
The chairs are very comfortable.
The meals were great and not over priced.
We have one crumbed steak, 2 schnitzels, one with pulled pork topper and the other with garlic prawns.
Drinks were average price.
Overall it was a great experience

I enjoyed my time at the Sun hotel. Food was great but I have one small issue. I am coeliac and your menu has a number of items listed as Gluten Friendly which is great except I had to ask your employee at the bar to tell me if any of my choices could be made GF. The symbols for the different food allergies is very small and very indistinct. Any change there could be a GF menu - even if just on a list which is kept at the front entry point. Thank you

The parmis were huge, well presented and tasted delicious definitely great value for money. The bacon garlic bread was absolutely divine and a standout. Unfortunately, the wait time was extremely long, which really took away from the experience. With better service timing, this would have been an easy higher rating.
