I caught up with an old friend for lunch and everything was excellent. The food took a little while but pretty good for a decent crowd. The drinks were super quick and the coffee was really good.

Lovely staff who squeezed us in at the last minute. Great to see a club that has carpet on floor to reduce noise and echo and tables are spread out perfectly. Special mention to Epany and Ella

First time at the Tavern. Had a really great lunch. Food was quite good. The smashed burger I had was particularly good. The meal was well sized, meat patties were niceley seasoned and well cooked with a perfect level of char. The burger salad was well balanced and dressed. The bun nicely toasted. Others in our party had the Battered Fish and grilled Barra which were enjoyed. Generally portions sizes were good. If we had to be picky, more chips would have been nice but that\'s really a minor detail.

The negative ...it is a real shame the use of electronic ordering which removes a good portion of the restaurant experience and contact with the staff. Can only give 2 stars at best. I don\'t want to sit on my phone and order. I want to talk and order with a person. When we left, there was no one around to thank. Sad this is the direction to service the Tavern has taken. The food was great but the way the service is structured was disappointing. It becomes clinical with little to no opportunity for engagement with the staff to add their own personality with the customers and represent the Tavern. You need both for a well rounded dining experience.

Will start with the positive - the food was fine, reasonable size, ok price.
Negatives:
- supposedly only one person can claim the points via the app if you are at a table
- it took over an hour for our table to get food. One person had finished desert before people had gotten their mains.
- after asking for updates from staff we were told we had only been waiting a short time. We showed them receipt times and then got grumbles as a response. Then told it would be 5-10mins longer. It was longer than that by far
- one of our party had to leave and had to argue with staff to get a refund. The price on the menu supposedly was incorrect, so he was initially charged more. When he finally gave the refund they refused to refund the amount he paid
- staff were overheard complaining about our group simply asking for the food we paid for.
- we were offered a free round of drinks, but then I assume the manager said that only he could do that and said no
- one of the drinks arrived with lipstick still on the cup. The same person had to debate with the server earlier to simply have no ice in their drink
- food finally arrived and we were told there was a print error and some of us (not everyone who had been waiting) $10 drink vouchers

We were patient and polite but the service here in general was the worst I have seen in recent memory. Other people arrived after us, ordered, ate and left before we had anything at all to eat. We are also pretty sure whatever fish was served definitely was not the Barra it was advertised as.
